Divine Level Witch Doctor

Zhao Yuan felt very uncomfortable under their stares and asked timidly, ”What’s wrong?”

Qiu Haogu said irritably, ”What do you mean, ’what’s wrong’? You’re actually asking if ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ is famous and formidable? Isn’t that a stupid question? Let’s not even mention anything else—just the fact that he selflessly published the Outer Canon of the Yellow Emperor has already made him the most prestigious person in the medical world! And that act alone is enough for his name to go down in history and be revered for generations!”

Director Ma added, ”Elder Qiu is right. Although the Great God of Witch Doctor only recently appeared on our school’s forum, his reputation in the medical community has already reached its peak! Countless medical universities are looking for him, offering incredible terms to hire him as a professor! I even heard that the Chinese Academy of Sciences is also looking for him, hoping to invite him to become an academician.”

Ma Guotao shot a fierce glare at Director Ma, seemingly blaming him for revealing that other schools and organizations were also pursuing ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’.

He then plastered a smile on his face and said to Zhao Yuan, ”Our university also wants to invite the Great God of Witch Doctor to be a professor, and our terms are absolutely generous! Whatever research he wants to do, it won’t be a problem. We will give him our fullest support in terms of manpower, resources, and finances! Student Zhao Yuan, you’re a student of our university. On a matter like this, you’ll definitely side with the school, right? Please put in a good word for us with the Great God of Witch Doctor. We are truly sincere!”

Zhao Yuan’s jaw dropped. He had truly never imagined that his alias on the school forums would gain such immense fame and status.

Still in shock, he blurted out, ”Is ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ really worthy of all this hype?”

He never imagined that this remark would offend everyone present.

The smile vanished from Ma Guotao’s face in an instant. He said sternly, ”Student Zhao Yuan, I must criticize you. ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ is your teacher, after all! How can you doubt his abilities? Or his contributions to Traditional Chinese Medicine? Just based on the discussions about the Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine he posted on our school’s forum, it’s clear his medical skills are exceptionally high! At the very least, we are all far inferior to him!”

Zhao Yuan was absolutely floored and blurted out, ”For real? Do you have to be so dramatic?”

”Dramatic? Not at all! Principal Ma is right. The level of our medical skills is completely incomparable to the Great God of Witch Doctor!” As Qiu Haogu spoke, his face was full of yearning and admiration. He already saw ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ as his idol.

Director Ma chimed in, ”Those treatises the Great God of Witch Doctor posted before were a huge revelation for me. Several questions that had plagued me for years were instantly resolved! My theoretical understanding has improved by leaps and bounds compared to before! You could say the Great God of Witch Doctor is the one who guides me on the path of medicine!”

It wasn’t just them. The other professors and teachers present also began to sing the praises of ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’. Their expressions, their tone—they were just like a bunch of deeply obsessed fanboys and fangirls.

Listening to their words, Zhao Yuan’s jaw remained dropped, and for a long time, he couldn’t close it.

He had never imagined that simply by using the alias ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ to answer questions on the school forum, all in an effort to sharpen his knowledge of basic theory, he would cause such a massive stir...

’Didn’t I just answer a few questions? Do you guys really need to worship me like this?’

’And you, Professor Yu Ke, and the others—you’re anatomy professors! Traditional Chinese Medicine has nothing to do with your specialty, does it? Why are you all part of the fan club too?’

As for the matter of the Outer Canon of the Yellow Emperor, Zhao Yuan was even more speechless.

He had originally published the book just to earn some Wish Power. He never thought that while he did earn the Wish Power, his alias would also have its reputation explode, turning him into a hot commodity fought over by all the major medical schools... The whole thing was just too absurd!

After finally waiting for everyone to finish their praise, Ma Guotao asked impatiently, ”Student Zhao Yuan, hurry up and tell us, who is ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’? I’ve been wracking my brains over his identity these past few days but still can’t figure out which Great God from the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine he could be!”

The surrounding professors and teachers all nodded and pressed him in unison, ”Yes, yes, quick, tell us! Who is the Great God of Witch Doctor?!”

”This...”

Zhao Yuan had been about to say, ”’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ is me,” but the words died on his lips, and he swallowed them back down.

He realized that he had gone a bit too far while playing around on the school forums with his ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ alias; he was practically on the verge of being immortalized in history. Even if he told the truth now, they most likely wouldn’t believe him. They would just think he was lying, which would only ruin their relationship. Besides, if he really did admit to being ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’, it would inevitably attract a lot of trouble. He would no longer be able to study and practice his Cultivation as freely as he did now.

So, he changed his tune and said, ”You guessed right. ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ is my teacher. I don’t know his real name, only that he goes by the title Lingshan Doctor.”

”Lingshan Doctor?” Everyone’s brows furrowed as they mumbled this unfamiliar name—everyone except for Wang Jiasen.

He had already learned from Zhao Yuan that his teacher went by the title Lingshan Doctor; he just never expected that this Lingshan Doctor was also ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’.

However, a question that had been nagging him was also resolved. ’If this Lingshan Doctor even has the Outer Canon of the Yellow Emperor, which was lost for a thousand years, it’s no longer surprising that he would also possess my Wang Family’s secret text, the Wushan Medical Tales.’

He even felt a slight sense of pride. For his family’s Wushan Medical Tales to be in the same collection as the Outer Canon of the Yellow Emperor was, in itself, a great honor!

Ma Guotao turned to Qiu Haogu and asked, ”Elder Qiu, you know many people. In the medical world, do you know of anyone who goes by the title Lingshan Doctor?”

Qiu Haogu shook his head. ”I don’t. I’ve never heard of that title. He must be a reclusive master physician who keeps a low profile!”

”To think that in this day and age, such a reclusive master still exists!” Ma Guotao exclaimed with emotion before turning back to Zhao Yuan. ”Student Zhao Yuan, look, do you think you could help me contact the Great God of Witch Doctor and ask him to come out of seclusion to teach at our university? It’s like I said before: as long as he’s willing to come, any and all conditions are negotiable!”

’An old man? I’m very young, thank you very much...’

Zhao Yuan was speechless. He responded perfunctorily, ”Principal Ma, I will pass on your invitation and sincerity to my teacher. But he’s someone who enjoys his peace and quiet, so I’m afraid he won’t be willing to come teach at the university. Also, I hope everyone can help me keep this a secret. I don’t want anyone else to know that ’I Want to be a Witch Doctor’ is my teacher. This is something my teacher has repeatedly insisted on.”
