I Married the President

Chapter 685: Chapter 685: What’s It to You Whether We Break Up or Not?

Claire Sinclair silently rolled her eyes. She wanted to go to her Weibo homepage and set the record straight, but after a moment’s thought, she decided against it.

The security system at Evergreen Garden was comprehensive. No ordinary person could just get in to take candid photos. It was obvious the mastermind behind this had been lying in wait for a long time to get these shots.

Besides, it happened in the morning and was already a hot topic online by the afternoon. Someone was definitely pulling the strings.

She’d just have to wait and see what this mastermind was really after.

-

This was Claire Sinclair’s first visit to Ivy Tanner’s new home. The moment she stepped inside, she was greeted respectfully by the maids.

Ivy Tanner eagerly pulled her upstairs, then shut the door and bolted it.

Seeing how on edge she was, Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, ”What’s wrong?”

”I had a fall this morning, and my stomach hurt for a few minutes. The pain went away, but I’m so worried something might have happened to the baby.”

”Why didn’t you tell me sooner? I’ll take you to the hospital to get it checked out.”

”Okay!” Ivy Tanner nodded.

After leaving the Rhodes Residence, the two of them got into a car and headed for the hospital.

After arriving at the hospital, Claire Sinclair took Ivy Tanner for a prenatal check-up. The results showed everything was normal.

They both breathed a sigh of relief. Ivy Tanner said gratefully, ”Sinclair, thank you.”

Claire Sinclair smiled. ”Don’t mention—”

Before she could finish, she caught sight of a mob of people with cameras running toward them. Startled, she grabbed Ivy Tanner’s hand, turned, and ran.

”Claire Sinclair, have you and Young Master Quincy broken up?”

”Claire Sinclair, is the mysterious man you’re living with your new boyfriend?”

”Why did you and Young Master Quincy break up?”

”Claire Sinclair...”

Claire Sinclair and Ivy Tanner only managed a few steps before Landon Winston sent his men forward to intervene, finally blocking the paparazzi.

The two of them scrambled back into the car, both panting heavily.

Ivy Tanner said, ”Sin-Sinclair, what was that all about with those people?”

”I... I don’t know.” Claire Sinclair was baffled as well.

’It feels like so many people are watching me lately. Like just now... I had just left the hospital, and I was even wearing a mask, but that pack of paparazzi recognized me in an instant.’

’So annoying.’

Claire Sinclair shook her head. ”Don’t worry about them. We’ll find out what they’re after when the headlines drop.”

Ivy Tanner looked at her sympathetically. ”I’ve seen how much hate you’ve been getting online these past few days. Why don’t you step up and explain things?”

Claire Sinclair laughed. ”Why should I have to explain my relationship with Mr. Quincy to anyone? I don’t care what they say. Let them talk.”

Ivy Tanner was left speechless.

Claire Sinclair first took Ivy Tanner back to the Rhodes Residence before heading home herself.

When she got home that day, she logged onto Weibo and, sure enough, the headlines had been updated.

...

’What the hell is this?’

Claire Sinclair just found it all so tedious.

’My old self probably would have crumbled under all these rumors. But I’m not that weak, helpless Claire Sinclair anymore. This level of cyberbullying isn’t enough to take me down.’

With that thought, Claire Sinclair posted a single sentence on Weibo: ”Whether we break up or not has nothing to do with you.”

That was it. Nothing more.

And that one sentence made netizens explode.

”Don’t break up!”

”Just tell us if you’ve broken up or not! You’re making me so anxious.”

”Hurry up and break up. I’ve been sick of you for a long time.”

”Disgusting. You’re fooling around with other men while you’re with Young Master Quincy. You should break up. A person like you doesn’t deserve him!”
