I Married the President

Chapter 665: Chapter 665: Who Dares Take Adrian Quincy’s Woman

With that, the host slowly turned, his gaze fixed on the black curtain. A mysterious smile played on his lips.

The next second, he ripped the curtain open—

Blinding light flooded in from above. Claire Sinclair, having been trapped in darkness for so long, couldn’t adjust to the sudden brightness. She reflexively raised a hand to shield her eyes, covering her face in the process.

Dressed in a flimsy white dress, her curled-up form, though withdrawn, was still captivating, drawing the eyes of every man in the room.

Though they couldn’t yet see her face, her small and helpless posture stirred the innate protective instincts in the men.

No one could resist stealing a few more glances at her...

Claire Sinclair kept her eyes shut until they finally adjusted to the harsh light. Only then did she slowly lower her hand and gradually open her eyes.

In that moment, the crowd saw her face clearly.

”Holy shit! It’s actually Claire Sinclair!”

”The top reporter for the Astoria Daily, Adrian Quincy’s girlfriend, the most influential woman in Aridia... a starting bid of ten million for her is a bit low, isn’t it?”

”My God, who would dare touch Adrian Quincy’s woman!”

”Not necessarily. This is Hell’s Paradise. Adrian Quincy has no idea this place even exists. Just take Claire Sinclair home, negotiate with her for a month or so, and you’re guaranteed to get your hands on the Astoria Daily.”

Some of the more well-informed people, however, were focused on something else—

”That woman is Quinn Sinclair’s sister. She must know the secret.”

”Contact the boss immediately!”

”WTF! That secret is finally going to be revealed!”

...

Claire Sinclair curled into a ball in the corner of the cage, pretending there was no one around. She completely shut herself away in her own world, blocking everything out.

At a time like this, she didn’t want to overthink things. She just wanted the man she loved to hurry up and save her.

Even if he couldn’t come... she was willing to spend the rest of her life waiting for him. ℯ

The host began to speak again. ”Alright, everyone, the auction will now officially begin! The starting bid is ten million. Ten million... yes, we have twenty million from bidder number 169! And fifty million from bidder number 235!”

It seemed no one here even considered ten million a significant sum. Before long, the bidding had reached the hundreds of millions.

Seeing the auction enter a fever pitch, Theo Rhodes raised his paddle as well.

The host immediately shouted, ”Bidder number 405 bids three hundred million!”

But soon after, the next bidder raised their paddle.

Theo Rhodes would occasionally make a disruptive bid, mentally calculating the time.

’Logically, my brother should have delivered the message to Quincy Manor by now. Why hasn’t there been any movement for so long?’

’That guy, Young Master Quincy, is taking way too long!’

Just as his focus wavered, bidder number 1, who had yet to raise his paddle, suddenly lifted it—

The host shouted excitedly, ”Bidder number 1, five hundred million!”

The person in seat number 2, sitting next to him, also raised his paddle and said, ”Five hundred fifty million.”

Number 1 raised his paddle again.

Number 2 immediately followed suit...

For a moment, the only two people bidding were these two men.

Theo Rhodes couldn’t help but stand up, staring at the backs of the two men from a distance.

’Based on their voices alone, I can’t tell if it’s Young Master Quincy or Orion Osborne. Who on earth are these two?’

「In the front row.」

Before entering, Adrian Quincy and Orion Osborne had already put in their hidden communication devices.

Orion Osborne opened his mouth slightly, speaking in a voice only audible through their earpieces. He sounded displeased. ”Didn’t you say you couldn’t come up with a billion?”
