Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1423: Chapter 1424: Truly Annoyed the Lady_1

Bai Ruozhu lowered her head, her long eyelashes quivered lightly on her eyelids, like two black butterflies flapping their wings.

”Madam, did you hear that?” Zhanna was almost frantic, truly a case of the emperor not being in a hurry while the eunuch is.

”If he makes a mistake just like that, then there’s no need for my concern. He’s often out and about on business, I can keep an eye on him for a moment, but for a lifetime?” Bai Ruozhu said indifferently, but her hand hidden in her sleeve clenched and unclenched several times.

She really wanted to rush over and slap Jiang Yichun several times. He even invited someone else into the room, and while she wasn’t there, he really had some nerve!

”But that was before, the young master hadn’t slipped up yet, had he?” Zhanna was still very worried.

”It’s fine, you don’t need to worry about it.” Bai Ruozhu said calmly and simply stood up, calling someone to bring in water for a bath, and started to wash herself.

As for Jiang Yichun, he waited half a day and Bai Ruozhu didn’t come to make a scene, which left him anxious and uncertain what to do. He was almost tempted to go and see whether Bai Ruozhu didn’t know about this matter or really intended to ignore him.

Poor He Lianlian was full of grace in her every move, hoping to catch the eye of the handsome official Jiang in front of her. Regrettably, his mind was absent, and he noticed nothing.

Before Jiang Yichun and the others had arrived, her father had instructed her to get close to Jiang Yichun. She had been somewhat reluctant, partly because of rumors she had heard about Jiang Yichun’s family affairs and partly because she knew he already had a wife, thinking that becoming his concubine wasn’t worth it. But as soon as she saw him, her opinion immediately made a one-hundred-eighty-degree turn.

This Mr. Jiang was truly handsome, and being with someone like him, even as a concubine, would be worth it. Thus, He Lianlian was very diligent in her efforts, even skillfully producing a beautiful camellia, but unfortunately, Jiang Yichun’s gaze was fixed on the main gate and he didn’t notice.

She carried a cup of tea, slowly got up, and walked towards Jiang Yichun, ”Sir, please have some tea.”

Her voice was so tender and seductive it was almost dripping with water, yet as she extended her hand in the gesture of offering tea, Jiang Yichun seemed as if he hadn’t heard and didn’t reach out to take it.

She assumed Jiang Yichun was observing her and deliberately lowered her gaze, stretching her fair and slender neck forward a bit to make the curves seem even more enchanting.

But after a long while, both her hand and neck had become sore, and Jiang Yichun still hadn’t responded. She couldn’t help but sneak a glance and saw Mr. Jiang looking towards the main gate, apparently expectant.

”Mr. Jiang, please have some tea!” He Lianlian had no choice but to repeat herself.

It was only then that Jiang Yichun snapped back to reality, and said with impatience, ”Alright, alright, put it down and leave.”

With Bai Ruozhu not showing up, he also had no desire to deal with another woman. Had it not been hard enough for him to restrain himself?

”Sir, how can you...” He Lianlian gasped in shock. Did she somehow offend this beautiful man that seemed like a banished immortal?

”Can’t you understand what I’m saying?” Jiang Yichun’s face turned stern, but his eyes drifted again towards the door. He really should have told He Lianlian not to close the door; at least then he could see what was going on outside.

He Lianlian was startled for a moment, and as a result, her hand wobbled and the cup of tea overturned, soaking a patch on Jiang Yichun’s thigh, as luck would have it.

”Ah, I was so careless, please forgive me, sir. Lianlian will clean it up right away!” As she spoke, she took out a handkerchief and lunged towards Jiang Yichun, looking as though she was going to wipe the water stains off his pants, which were quite close to the top of his thigh!

Jiang Yichun should not have been bothered by such a thing, but his attention had wandered while looking at the door, and so he failed to dodge. But having not dodged the first time, could he really not avoid it a second time?

He swung his sleeve, ”Scram! Who let you near me!”

Already seething with anger, his strike was particularly vicious, and when he slapped He Lianlian, she screamed miserably and flew towards the door, which broke as she crashed through it and fell outside.

Being a common woman with not a hint of martial arts skill, such a hit made her eyes roll back as she fainted on the spot.

The entire yard was alerted by the noise, with Muyu initially thinking an assassin had attacked. However, upon seeing He Lianlian’s miserable state, everyone was stunned. Had this woman thrown herself into his arms? What else could have infuriated their patriarch to such an extent?

Jiang Yichun didn’t bother with the unconscious He Lianlian but went straight towards Bai Ruozhu’s room. At the doorway, he shouted, ”Didn’t you hear just now? Or is it that you simply don’t care?”

Bai Ruozhu was already livid, and upon hearing his voice, she roared, ”What you do is your business. When have I ever had the right to interfere with you?”

Jiang Yichun pushed the room door open and shouted, ”You are my wife, how can you not interfere? Just give the word, and I’ll make sure all the other women stay away!”

Zhanna shrank back in the room, wondering if she counted as one of the ”other women” he mentioned. She also wanted to leave, but with her injured leg, she had trouble moving, so she tried to scoot towards the corner of the bed, hoping to be less noticeable.

Jiang Yichun finished his rant, then was taken aback. What did he see? His wife was soaking in a large bathtub. Although everything below her shoulders was obscured, the snow-like skin of her exposed shoulders made him want to rush over and touch her.

Suddenly, he felt a warmth in his nose and instinctively touched it. When he looked at his fingers, there was blood—he had a nosebleed...

”Who let you barge in here? Get the hell out! Since you let another woman into your room, stay out of my sight from now on. Same as before, we divorce. The child doesn’t need you for a father. Get out! And do it quickly!” Bai Ruozhu totally lost it, and after her tirade, there wasn’t a single person in the yard who dared make a sound.

My goodness, the master has truly angered the lady this time!

”You, listen to my explanation...” Jiang Yichun’s mouth felt bitter, as he tried to explain, but Bai Ruozhu grabbed the brush, ointment, and other items next to the bathtub and hurled them at him, while screaming, ”Get out, and close the door behind you! Do you want everyone in the yard to see me bathing?”

It was then that Jiang Yichun realized, how could he allow others to see his wife? He zipped out in a flash and swiftly closed the room door behind him.

He stood at the door, facing his subordinates who seemed dumbstruck in the yard, and he felt indescribably embarrassed, but even more, he felt distressed; he knew he had truly upset his wife this time.

Muyu shrank her neck and hurriedly hid inside her room, daring not to come out. Oh, mother, why was the lady’s reaction so different from what he predicted? Did he end up making things worse?

Qingyan, barely holding back laughter, came over, patted Jiang Yichun on the shoulder, and said, ”Young man, go sit down. You don’t want to anger her even more.”

”I, I just did what Muyu suggested, thinking it would be a drastic measure to help us reconcile sooner,” Jiang Yichun said with his head hung, looking like a child who had made a mistake.

Qingyan found it amusing. Having dealt with him for some time, she knew how cold he could be, but she never expected to see him like this.
