Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1405: Chapter 1407 Lady Bai’s Generous Heart_1

Bai Ruozhu and the others soon learned about the chaos Honglian caused in the Holy Hall, creating three new zombies, with one of them even being the Divine Guardian Team Leader, Yuefeng.

”If this woman is not removed, she will certainly become a great threat,” Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help sighing. She had met Yuefeng once, the time she was taken to the Holy Hall for the divine judgment. Although they were on opposite sides, she could tell he was rather upright. Yet, unexpectedly, having loved the wrong person, he had turned into a corpse.

”But now they are hiding, it might be very difficult to find them. We still have our own tasks to attend to and should return as soon as possible,” Jiang Yichun said.

On hearing this, Bai Ruozhu quickly nodded, ”Yes, I’ve been missing our son and my parents so much. If we don’t go back soon, Little Dengdeng may not even recognize us. What if he becomes less close to me afterward?”

As she spoke, she furrowed her brow, showing an extremely troubled expression. Jiang Yichun found it amusing and, reaching out, he smoothed the furrow between her brows, saying, ”A child is closest to his mother. No matter how long they are apart, Dengdeng will love his mother the most.”

Bai Ruozhu felt proud in her heart. He had finally admitted that Dengdeng loved his mother the most and not his sly father, right?

But in an instant, she suddenly thought of his mother who had remarried and felt a pang of sadness for him again.

”You don’t believe it?” Jiang Yichun noticed her mood had dipped. She hurriedly shook her head, ”It’s nothing. When we return, I’ll accompany our son every day. Even if we’re not close now, in a few days, he will surely be closest to me.”

Considering their departure, Bai Ruozhu discussed it with Chu Hai, who also agreed, saying, ”Master said he would accompany my mother on this journey.”

Bai Ruozhu was delighted to hear this. With Master Hao Feng accompanying them, there would be an additional layer of safety on the road.

Afterward, Jiang Yichun took Bai Ruozhu to meet with the king and informed him of their plan to return to Danliang Country. The king listened and seemed hesitant, as if he did not wish for them to leave so soon.

”Your Majesty, the great elder has been dealt with, and even if Honglian’s whereabouts are unknown, she won’t make much of a difference. Even if you don’t go after her, the Holy Hall won’t let her go. As for the path ahead, it’s up to Your Majesty and the people of the Western Regions to choose,” Bai Ruozhu reminded him.

Seeing the king still hesitating, she added, ”I have another request for Your Majesty’s approval. You may have guessed I am not Lin Zhu. My real name is Bai Ruozhu, and I have some reputation in the field of medical skills in Danliang Country. To allow more citizens to receive better medical care when they fall ill, I founded the Medical Alliance, and now I hope the Medical Alliance can open a branch in the Western Regions.”

The king was taken aback for quite some time; Bai Ruozhu? Medical Alliance? What exactly was going on?

Bai Ruozhu smiled and continued to explain, ”Please rest assured, Your Majesty, the Medical Alliance is not an organization like the Holy Hall. It is a place for doctors to exchange and learn from each other. I do not wish for medical skills to be hoarded as secretive techniques. This would not only hinder the development of medical skills but, over time, might even lead to a regression in medical science. Imagine if no one kept secrets and many medical skills were openly available for the doctors of the alliance to learn. If everyone improved their medical skills, wouldn’t they be able to serve the citizens better?”

”I am willing to share my own medical skills with the members of the alliance. Moreover, the members are not restricted in their movements; they can open clinics or even enter the Palace as Imperial Doctors. The only condition is that they must not act against medical ethics, and any who do will be expelled,” Bai Ruozhu added.

The king went from surprise to delight. If becoming a member of the alliance meant learning the medical skills of Lady Bai and the possibility of becoming an Imperial Doctor, wouldn’t the medical skills of the court doctors improve too?

Due to the Holy Hall’s suppression over the years, there were very few highly skilled Imperial Doctors left in the Palace.

Furthermore, with more doctors, the citizens would be able to receive better care, and his people wouldn’t succumb to untimely deaths from illness. The population had been dwindling.

However, His Majesty the King still had some hesitations, and didn’t know what the Holy Hall might think. Could the Medical Alliance become a second Holy Hall?

Jiang Yichun understood the concerns in the heart of those in power and said, ”The Holy Hall should be a place for the common people to place their faith, not to control the nation’s healthcare. As for the Medical Alliance, it’s merely a place for doctors to exchange knowledge. Even if doctors from across the country were to join, they’re still just doctors and don’t control the thoughts of the people. With such a separation, it would actually be more advantageous for the checks and balances of His Majesty.”

”I have no objections to this matter, but if the Holy Hall interferes, I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do,” the King said.

Bai Ruozhu laughed, ”It doesn’t matter, our alliance isn’t lacking in members. Their loss if they don’t want to learn medicine from me.”

The King, feeling tempted, thought he had to have several Imperial Doctors from the Imperial Medical Bureau join. It would be good to learn a thing or two from Mrs. Bai.

Thus, the matter was essentially settled, and the King, being an efficient man, quickly wrote a charter and sealed it with his jade seal, approving the establishment of a branch of the Medical Alliance in Gaochang City of the Western Regions.

That very afternoon, a few Imperial Doctors nearly ran to Qingyu Pavilion, as if afraid that if they were too slow, Bai Ruozhu wouldn’t accept them.

Bai Ruozhu helped them register their information and, satisfied, said, ”I can’t stay much longer, I need to detoxify the King in the next few days. I will teach you the antidote technique for ’Ci Zichou’ then.”

The Imperial Doctors were stupefied. They couldn’t even detect the poison of ’Ci Zichou’, let alone learn how to cure it directly. Wouldn’t that be too difficult?

They haven’t even learned to walk yet and were about to learn to run. Wouldn’t they fall hard?

Bai Ruozhu also had her own intentions; she was going to leave in a few days and could only perform the second detoxification for the King. As for the third one, she definitely had to teach someone else to do it.

Being a decisive person, she immediately taught those Imperial Doctors a set of needlework that could alleviate pain in specific areas. She had once taught this to the doctors in Danliang Country. The Imperial Doctors were so excited that their beards quivered, but some, due to their age, kept forgetting and wanted to write it down on paper, yet they were afraid of displeasing Bai Ruozhu, sweating profusely from their foreheads in their anxiety.

”You all can take turns recording it, and it can be exchanged and studied internally, but it must not be shown to anyone outside of our Medical Alliance,” Bai Ruozhu said.

The eldest Imperial Doctor, upon hearing this, hurriedly asked, ”Are there any requirements for joining the Medical Alliance?”

”There are no particular requirements, as long as one doesn’t harbor ill intent,” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile. ”Haven’t I also not demanded anything from you?”

”What if someone sneaks into the alliance and steals our medical techniques to spread outside?” the old Imperial Doctor asked anxiously.

Bai Ruozhu chuckled, ”If it spreads, so be it. Learning medical skills is for treating diseases and saving people. If it can benefit the masses, who learns it does not matter, right?”

Everyone was stunned, taking a long time to come back to their senses. How could she speak as if it were as common as cabbages? Wasn’t Mrs. Bai too generous?

Suddenly, the eldest Imperial Doctor bowed deeply to Bai Ruozhu, ”Mrs. Bai has a great heart. It was our narrow-mindedness before.”
