Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

”Old Master, I’m not…”

Mrs. Qin wanted to explain, but Old Master Fu stopped her with a smile. ”Xiu is the youngest official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but as his mother, you want to suppress him. You use the excuse of doing it for his own good.

”He resists you and doesn’t want to listen to your arrangements. In your eyes, he’s unfilial. Let me ask you, are you being filial? Old Qin and his wife were angered by you until they were disheartened and no longer want to take care about things anymore. Is this your filial piety?”

His expression was serious but not stern. His questioning was calm and composed. Mrs. Qin was gradually unable to resist his wise response.

”You’re not filial, but you’re forcing Xiu to meet your standards of filial piety. You’re selfish and independent. You’re not wrong to say that a man should start a family and a career when he’s 30 years old. But does it mean that only by following your parents’ arrangements and getting married can you be filial and do great things?”

Old Master Fu kept asking questions. Mrs. Qin’s forehead was covered in sweat. She was so nervous that she couldn’t sit still.

However, Old Master Fu didn’t stop. His voice didn’t change much either. It was as if he was talking about something extremely normal. However, Mrs. Qin was nervous.

She really regretted coming over to beg the old man!

”Go and see how many scientists from the older generation in Dan Gui Garden have never married in their entire lives. Elder Yan and Elder Su, who are next door, have never married. How much have they contributed to the country? Do you dare to go over and ask Elder Yan and Elder Su if they’re lonely since they didn’t get married? Do you dare to ask?”

Mrs. Qin’s face turned pale. Even as the wife of an ambassador, she didn’t have the guts to ask the country’s heroes that.

”I also heard that Ying likes a soldier. I heard that the young man is a major. He’s tall, big, and mighty. However, you despise him for being a poor soldier. His family comes from a small county city, and his parents are only middle school teachers. You used the excuse that his family background is not good. On New Year’s Eve, you even slapped Ying.

”Didn’t you ask yourself whether Ying would get lonely if she didn’t marry? Are you intent on satisfying your selfishness and continuing to control Ying and Xiu?

”Ying clearly wants to get married, but you’re stopping her from doing it and even look down on the man’s family background. Xiu doesn’t want to get married for the time being and wants to achieve big things in his career, but you’re trying all means to break his plan. Mrs. Qin, you’re not anxious for your children. You’re just thinking for yourself.”

Mrs. Qin’s face turned pale as her body swayed a little. She wanted to ask the old man for an idea, but in fact, she wanted him to help persuade Xiu. However, in the end, she was reprimanded by Old Master Fu.

Mrs. Qin knew that she had come to the wrong place and begged the wrong person.

Old Master Fu felt a little tired. ”That’s all I have to say. Don’t look for me for these things in the future. Although my relationship with the Qin family is closer than family, I’ve never cared about the juniors’ plans for marriage.

”You’re going to go down a dead end if you continue doing this. Go back and think about it. Once you figure it out, everything will be clear.”

If she could figure it out, Mrs. Qin wouldn’t have tormented Qin Xiu for so many years.

She still felt that she hadn’t done anything wrong. She would definitely support her son’s career. As for marriage, his parents had the right to make the decision.
