Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 685: Chapter 659: A Torrent of Emotions Behind a Forced Smile

”Alright, watch closely—I am a trustworthy bodyguard,” Mai said to Shuixian.

He usually played the cool guy because he thought it was easier to win over girls that way. But under Qian’s pressure, Mai felt he might be doubted.

Based on the intel he had gathered, Teng Shuixian’s feelings for Qian were anything but ordinary; he feared Qian might gossip with Shuixian, so Mai saw this as a great chance to win Shuixian’s trust.

He stacked a few bricks together, then raised his hand adorned with black half-finger gloves and gave them a powerful chop, smashing them all.

He proudly made a humble hand gesture.

”Ladies first.”

Liumei thought she could probably smash one or two bricks, and as she was wondering how to proceed, her shoulder was held down by Yu Minglang.

It was a sign for Liumei to remain silent.

”Are you practicing hard martial arts?” Yu Minglang asked, though his gaze was fixed on Mai’s gloves.

These were the commonly used half-finger gloves in kickboxing, snug against the hand and looking like a second skin, with fingers exposed and appearing ordinary.

Yet Yu Minglang’s keen sixth sense told him there was a problem with them.

He couldn’t specify the exact issue, but Xiaoqiang’s intuition told him this was the best course of action.

”Yes, we agents are trained not to fight women as a means of protection,” Mai said coolly.

However, Lang loved challenging show-offs.

When Qian saw Yu Minglang suddenly smile, she was relieved.

Lang smiled with sunglasses on, in a very cunning manner.

”Your Lang doesn’t necessarily strike seven times; it might be seven traps, seven consecutive pitfalls.”

”Since it’s hard martial arts, it should be effective for both offense and defense. How about this, my sister admits defeat.”

”Brother?” Liumei was puzzled, at least let her try twice; Chinese martial ethics don’t allow conceding without a fight, even losing should be dignified!

”Listen to your brother, they practice hard martial arts, you as a girl can’t fight them.”

Mai showed a particularly smug smile, looking towards Shuixian’s direction, as if to say, ”See, such reliability!”

”But I could allow my sister to punch you, let her feel the defense of hard martial arts, consider it as this former M Country agent coaching my sister.”

Crack, Mai’s smile froze.

Punch him... once?!

”Don’t worry, according to the rules, she won’t hit your critical areas. Liumei, remember, no hitting the eyes, nostrils, or below, we must stick to the rules, got it?”

”Brother, my fists aren’t as strong as my legs, can I kick instead?”

What?!

You’re planning to kick too?!! Mai was already speechless; inside, he was shouting like a storm.

Qian almost burst out laughing, but she held back, knowing her husband was one for setting traps back to back. If she laughed out loud, it wouldn’t be fun later on.

Ah, life’s not easy, holding back is so painful!

”About kicking, according to the rules of fighting—” Mai was about to find some room for maneuver, when Yu Minglang quickly interrupted him.

”I know, according to fighting rules it’s totally fine. Our Chinese martial arts are profound, emphasizing indiscriminate fighting styles, meaning, kick wherever you want except those few areas.”

Implying, when in our territory, follow our rules, don’t mess around with your foreign antics.

”Miss, I—” Mai looked at Shuixian, his previous show-off aura was gone.

How he wished Shuixian could act more like a rich person and say something like, ”My bodyguard is not here to monkey around, what do you think you’re doing, end of friendship!”

Unfortunately, he was destined for disappointment.

Shuixian indeed carried the air of a rich person, but she was in cahoots with Qian.

”You’re a man, give the girl some slack, she already admitted defeat, a kick won’t hurt,” Shuixian responded.

”Exactly, you’re a former foreign agent, I always had a great impression of agents,” Qian piled on.

”She’s just a woman, not much strength,” Yu Minglang chimed in.

Liumei nodded vigorously, ”Right, right, Master says the same about me, that I’m all flair with little power in my legs, not as good kicking posts as my brothers.”

I’m not a post! Mai’s heart roared, looking at Liumei’s long legs, thinking, you’re a woman, what do you have such long legs for?

And those big feet, looks like size 38, right?

Isn’t the myth that Chinese women have bound feet; these long legs, these big feet, if they stomp down, will he be okay?

”Weren’t you supposed to be especially deep, why fear a little girl? I’ll tell my dad this bodyguard is useless, not bold, we need a different one,” Shuixian’s words left Mai with no way out.

He made a poignant gesture—actually, his heart was about to cry.

”Come on, little sister, we’ll leave it at that, I’ll let you.”

Liumei flexed her ankle and Mai adjusted his stance, thinking that he was being so gracious, this little girl should be embarrassed to kick hard, right?

He said he’d let her, she should sensibly give a light kick just to make a point.

Society’s pitmaster, Yu Minglang added another line.

”Liumei, listen to this former agent, he said he’d let you, you should let him too.”

Right, this line sounded reasonable; Mai relaxed a little.

”Brother, does it mean I should kick lightly?”

”No, no, no, they came a long way, kicking lightly would be belittling them! They practice hard martial arts, per its principles, the harder you hit, the stronger the rebound, when he says he’s letting you, he means kick as hard as you can, as much strength as you have, got it?”

... Liumei thought, could it be her brother was obsessed with martial arts novels? How could there be rebound of Inner Strength, isn’t that fictional?

”Is it appropriate?” Liumei knew her kick couldn’t break a post but could definitely break a sandbag; why else would she carry several spare ones?

Saying she was weak was relative to who she was compared to.

”Kid, you have no sense! If you don’t seriously accept guidance from this former agent, you’ll cause international repercussions!”

What the heck! That’s what Mai truly felt inside.

Liumei got serious; since things had escalated to this level, she couldn’t hold back! It was time to show real skill!

Qian painlessly turned around, her shoulders shaking slightly; she couldn’t hold back any longer.

Society’s pitmaster is truly hilarious, even the highly self-disciplined Qian almost couldn’t keep it in.

Mai’s peripheral vision caught Qian turning and her shoulders twitching; he gritted his teeth, wondering if this woman knew what she was doing on purpose?

He had a hunch this woman was doing it on purpose!! This couple was just too wicked, no nice guy at all.
