Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 673: Chapter 647: Four-Pound Mini Watermelon—Qian’s Suggestion Is Spot-On

After getting up, Qian received a call from Xian’er.

”Qian’er, I’m returning home tomorrow, is there anything else you need me to bring?”

”Did you buy all my essential oils?”

”They’re already ordered, I’ll have someone pick them up later.”

”There’s one plant essential oil you don’t need to get, I’ll give you the name so you can note it down. Apart from that one, everything else stays the same, and also...”

Qian glanced at the pink ceiling and sighed.

”Bring me back two books on interior design.”

”I’ll just find you a renovation company.”

Qian always used renovation companies for her houses, but this time she didn’t want to.

”I want to design it myself, just bring the books.”

Xiaoqiang had done it by hand; she wanted to modify it a little based on that.

Even though this room was ugly to a new level, every part was done by him during his breaks, and Qian didn’t want anyone else to interfere with their private space, not even a designer.

After exchanging some pleasantries with Xian’er, Qian clearly sensed that Xian’er was in a bit of a bad mood, as if she was quite down. She wanted to ask about it, but considering the inconvenience of talking over the phone, she’d find out when they met tomorrow.

After a quick wash, Qian wanted to go home to check on Weiwei. Passing by Central Hospital, she saw Ye Xiaoyu’s car and drove over to honk a few times.

”Meiwei, it’s you...” Ye Xiaoyu peered out, looking haggard, surprisingly without makeup.

Someone with makeup compulsion not wearing any meant she was in a low mood and not well overall.

”Visiting your father?”

No matter how awful Ye was to Ye Xiaoyu, he was still her dad. After what happened, Ye Xiaoyu should have been the first to visit yesterday, but she stayed with her sister all night, torn between her sister and father. Though her sister never said bad things about their father, Ye Xiaoyu had guessed some things.

She eventually chose to take a look but was reluctant to get out of the car, not wanting to acknowledge that person was her father. The only thing on her mind was wishing Ye Daqian wasn’t her father. She sat in the car, caught in her internal conflict until Qian happened by.

”I slept with Weiwei last night. She didn’t have nightmares, but I couldn’t sleep,” Ye Xiaoyu said, her mind in a daze.

”Didn’t your mom call to complain about me?”

”She did...”

After the incident with her father yesterday, her mother called her twice. First, right after getting bitten, urging her to come quickly. Ye Xiaoyu wanted to check but remembered Weiwei’s tearful midnight awakening and stayed put.

After Qian investigated, Lv Zhi called again, crying about Qian bullying people.

”Do you hate me more now? You must have more ’bad deeds’ of mine marked down, right?”

Ye Xiaoyu had a notebook just for Qian’s gossip, noting things like who she talked to or who visited her — it was either Qiuqiu or Liao Fugui at her place. Qian just watched her note down with amusement.

”I did. Yesterday, you weren’t there with Weiwei. She asked where Meiwei went at night.”

Aside from that, Ye Xiaoyu noted nothing else.

She didn’t believe her mother’s words. It was just coincidence that Qian could hypnotize dogs, leading to her father getting bitten.

”Aren’t you the one who hates me most? Such a good opportunity, why not hate me with your mother?”

”Hating you requires justification. I don’t want to hate blindly without facts, one thing at a time.”

Deep down, Ye Xiaoyu felt that even if Meiwei did it, she didn’t want to hate her. Not because she liked Meiwei, but after seeing her sister struggling with life and Weiwei’s pain from depression caused by their father, some mental scales tipped toward Qian and Weiwei.

”That’s good, you’re improving. Compulsives usually have obsessive thoughts, but now you’re learning to use your brain to distinguish right from wrong and even avoid troubling thoughts, finding reasons you can accept. Congratulations on that development, your compulsion will—”

”Get better?” Ye Xiaoyu asked hopefully.

”No, you just changed from a makeup obsessive that annoys everyone to one that’s not as annoying.”

”...I’m growing to dislike you more.”

”Go see your father; he should be in an argument with your mother if he’s got the energy. By the way, I’ll buy some fruit for you to take to him.”

”Would you really be that nice?” Ye Xiaoyu almost reconsidered Qian.

”I always focus on deeds, not people.”

Qian got out, bought two mini watermelons from a roadside fruit stall — these were tiny.

She relished the thought of riling up Ye Daqian. He’d lost a testicle and now any round shape would be a blow to his self-esteem.

”Miss, your mini watermelons, 4 pounds each, totaling 8 pounds for both, 5 yuan.” The seller handed Qian the mini watermelons.

Qian chuckled at the 4 pounds, mesmerizing even the fruit seller — so pretty...

The beauty’s mind went to something cheeky; Qian was thinking about Lang’s nickname for Yu Minglang — 4 pounds, snort!

”Cut one in half for me, so one stays whole and one is smashed,” Qian guessed this would greatly upset Ye Daqian.

To a regular person, it’d just be two watermelons, but for Ye Daqian, who’d just lost his manhood, everything would set him off.

”Ye Xiaoyu, after your father sees you, tell him if his emotions are out of control that doing good deeds and apologizing to Weiwei while kowtowing ninety-nine times is the only way to find peace. When he tells you to get lost, just look at him for a few seconds and say that nightmares won’t stop and he’ll be cursed to bad karma and rebirth as a dog unless he apologizes.”

”How do you know my dad will get angry? And about the nightmares?” Ye Xiaoyu listened, baffled, like Qian could predict the future.

”Anyone who knows a bit of psychology knows about post-traumatic stress. With half of his vital part gone, of course, he’d have post-traumatic stress; if not, it’d be strange. You can tell him you consulted the most powerful fortune-teller in town, who said the only way to lift the nightmares is to apologize.”

”He won’t apologize, and what if he says he doesn’t have nightmares?” Ye Xiaoyu understood her father, a prideful man.

”If he doesn’t have nightmares, say if not tonight, then tomorrow. Within a month, he’ll apologize to Weiwei because you predicted the nightmares will worsen,” ding-dong! Qian’er the great psychic was online, already in her hustler mode!

While not necessarily causing nightmares, suggestive cues could make one occur. Having Ye Xiaoyu, his daughter, mention it would certainly plague Ye Daqian with nightmares, constantly recalling the dog attack.

Never cross a psychologist; they have a hundred ways to mess with you.

”After he apologizes to Weiwei, will his nightmares stop?”

”No. But Weiwei’s symptoms will lessen greatly.”

”...You want me to con my own dad?” Ye Xiaoyu finally understood.

”Do you want Weiwei to recover? To put it bluntly, you’re on the scales between Weiwei and your dad. His testicle is gone forever; his heart remains clouded, something no one can cure. But Weiwei can still be saved. Who do you choose?”

”...” Ye Xiaoyu paused for a few seconds, then asked Qian.

”Tell me how I can help Weiwei.”

Qien patted her shoulder approvingly.

”Congratulations, you chose to stand with ’heaven.’”

Good and evil reside within every heart; anyone could become either, the choice made in a moment’s time.

Ye Xiaoyu wasn’t a saint, but at that moment, she chose the side of an angel, the side of ’heaven.’

Who said psychological suggestion was only doable in person? Use the right tools and find someone Ye Daqian trusts; suggestions work all the same. Qian felt her skill at remote manipulation had improved.

Hmm, cow, cow... Lang, weighing 2 pounds, added to the nickname equals 4 pounds, snort, wanting to laugh again, the reflexive power is just overwhelming!

Cough cough, get serious. The focus now is conditioning for Ye Daqian; Qian slapped her face to curb the laughter, yet glimpsed the 4-pound reading on the scale and laughed slyly. The power of conditioning is unbeatable, even Qian’er fell for it, let alone Ye.

Seems logical.
