Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 659: Chapter 633: A Different Response

On the sand table, the top floor of the building model has a small dropper, which Qian uses to handle essential oils. Yu Minglang picked it up and sniffed it; it’s an essential oil with a scent that’s hard to describe.

Yu Minglang picked up the map, the part Qian folded happens to reveal the Ye Family’s community. He compared the layout of the buildings around it with the layout of the streets she drew on the sand table, and there’s even a small sign placed somewhere, which is...

A surveillance camera by the roadside?

Yu Minglang stared at the sand table for quite a while.

He wondered whether Qian deliberately placed this here as a lapse or if it was intended for him to see.

This is a strategic interaction among the smart ones.

She doesn’t put things on the surface but tests him in another way.

This is a very strange feeling, but Yu Minglang is certain that his heart is itching right now; he chose a smart and suitable woman for himself.

No need to force, nor avoid, she lazily brushes his heart in a way that tiptoes on that line inside him.

Successfully igniting a fire in Yu Minglang’s heart.

Yu Minglang also gave Qian a different response. He looked at the map for a moment and then moved the location of the building a little. Then, fearing she wouldn’t notice, he drew an × at the original location of the building, indicating the surveillance detection range, which was clearly inadequate at her previous setup.

If people who are good are deceived by people but not by heaven, and those who are bad are feared by people but not by heaven, and Qian wants to rename herself as Little Heaven at this moment, then there is one thing Yu Minglang needs to do right now.

Help Heaven fix the bug.

Being the man of ”Heaven” is about being meticulous and accurate; Yu Minglang suddenly feels all these years of studying weren’t wasted, and the knowledge is now all used to lend Qian a hand, which is quite nice.

Qian is currently conducting an empty chair therapy session with Weiwei.

Through appropriate guidance, relying on Weiwei’s dependence and trust in her, Qian puts Weiwei alone in a room.

The room contains a table and four chairs, with chairs surrounding the table, and there are different signs on the table corresponding to the chairs.

”Sweetie, you’ll stand in this room alone; this chair with no sign represents you, while those empty chairs with signs represent the people who hurt you, the person you trust most, and other people in society. After you hear my directions, bring yourself to the most painful moment, and then play the role of several people. Sitting on your chair means you are yourself, speaking out the most painful words inside you. Then you sit in the chair of the one who hurt you, and you’ll be him, playing several people by yourself, considering issues from others’ perspectives, simulating interpersonal interactions.”

This is the psychology’s commonly used empty chair therapy.

”I don’t quite understand...”

”Face your greatest fears directly, ask him why he wants to hurt you, why he does things that bully you, why it’s you! Don’t you want to ask? Yell out and vent your deepest fears.”

This is different from the personality disorder that Zhiming, the face-scratching maniac, has. It’s a form of self-conflict therapy used to attenuate fear and anxiety through realistic scenarios. Qian has used this empty chair therapy in the treatment of many psychological diseases, and she’s using this method now to help Weiwei vent some fears.

While Qian is conducting therapy here, in another room, Yu Minglang is pondering the sand table, conducting a long-distance mental connection with Qian, while Qiuqiu starts to busy himself with cooking. Yu Liumei wanted to help, but the home phone rang.

”Qian’er, are you home next Sunday?”

”I’m not Qian’er; I’m Qian’er’s sister.”

”Ah, long legs—no, I mean, Liumei, ah!”

The man on the phone sounded distinctly nervous. Liumei recognized it, ”Is it the glasses doctor—no, I mean, you’re Fugui, right?”

”It’s me.” She still remembers me~ Liao Fugui’s heart beat a little faster. He has been dreaming of two long legs every day recently, and occasionally dreams of burying himself in the fluffy, lemon soap-scented hills. Waking up only to find his face stuck in the pillow, nearly suffocating.

Oh, he recently changed all his soaps to the refreshing lemon scent!

”Are you looking for my sister-in-law?”

”Yes...”

”She’s treating someone right now, do you have a message for me to pass on?”

”The family just received some native pork from the village, and Mrs Jia saved some for her; I’ll bring it over next time.”

”Okay! I’ll pass it on for you!”

Having finished the proper business, they should say thank you and hang up the phone, yet neither moved. Liumei was waiting for the glasses doctor to speak, and the glasses brother, lost in thoughts of fluffy lemon scent and long legs, was blank, unable even to say goodbye.

Resulting in a few seconds of silence.

Liumei didn’t know what he intended to do, feeling odd not hanging up while saying nothing, so she found a topic.

”Fugui, do you know what empty chair therapy is?” Just now, after Qian explained it, Liumei became quite interested, just like listening to a storytelling session unfolding.

”Oh, that is a technique commonly used by the Gestalt psychology school, also called the Gestalt approach. It’s a way to map the patient’s inner psyche, letting them play different roles, and demonstrate the internal conflict most directly...”

Whenever Fugui mentions professional topics, he becomes eloquent. Liumei has recently become quite interested in psychological matters, and Fugui explains it in a way that’s easy to understand, soon leading to an engaging conversation.

”Judging by your words, there are many schools of psychology, right? What school does my sister-in-law belong to, and what about you?” Liumei asked. It feels like the discussion among martial arts schools, with each having unique techniques!

”There are indeed many schools. Qian’er has a wide range of knowledge, mastering everything. In the words of great men, in Qian’er’s eyes, whether it’s a black cat or a white cat, if it catches mice, it’s a good cat. I’m a bit different; I belong to the psychiatric field.”

Qian was very lucky; following Mr Liu, she received all his teachings. After establishing her studio, she gained a wealth of clinical experience and attracted top psychologists from Asia, absorbing numerous therapeutic methods. Many of these methods are very innovative and avant-garde, yet effective and widely used today.

”It all sounds amazing, but it’s just a few chairs, letting patients play different roles and talk to themselves. Can it really cure diseases?”

”Of course, empty chair therapy has many clinical effects, such as dealing with grief over the death of a loved one, witnessing a murder scene causing nightmares, encountering violent harm, or having social anxiety disorder. This method is very effective in handling such issues. Qian’er is an excellent psychologist; her approaches are very rigorous and effective.”

”You’re great, too; I think you know everything.” Liumei earnestly praised him.

Liao Fugui felt especially embarrassed to be praised but also had an indescribable sense of satisfaction. Being highly regarded by soft long legs suddenly elevated his mood.
