Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 473: Chapter 447: You Are Right

”It was my authorization that made her do this.” While Mr Liu occasionally showed violent tendencies towards Qian, he held her in high regard and would immediately face any problems.

”The dream I’ve pondered for years has been disrupted by you all, but what’s even sadder is that I don’t know whom to hate.”

Wang Yafei said, worn out and powerless.

Even though he spoke those words to Qian, his heart was left in confusion. His brain couldn’t think rationally, it was only his instincts telling him that those words were inappropriate.

After 3 days of exhaustion, being just one step away from his dream, only to be mercilessly shut out, this feeling was indescribable.

”Why hate? There must be a reason for what’s missed. With your health condition, if you joined the company, you know what could happen. It’s better to relax and recover than be discovered later.”

”Illness... hehe.”

Why was he the one who got sick?

Thinking back on endless preparations, only to be cruelly eliminated due to this issue.

”I’ll be treating you next. How should I put it, your illness isn’t that serious. After a few treatments, there’s a great hope for recovery.”

Mr Liu’s words did not dissolve the knots in Wang Yafei’s heart; instead, they made him feel worse.

He felt terrible because he didn’t know who was right and didn’t even know who to hate, inexplicably depressed in his heart.

”I don’t need treatment. I simply can’t work in front of a computer, right? I’ll go back to growing vegetables, live as an ordinary person, never touch computers for the rest of my life, so the illness won’t recur. I’m done with you doctors waving the flag of ethics without asking for my consent. I have the right to choose my own life now!”

Mr Liu sighed, ”Child, you’re still young, you don’t know, she did this for your own good—”

If Qian had told him beforehand, Wang Yafei wouldn’t have felt those immersive experiences, and he wouldn’t have discovered buried memories. Without recollection, he wouldn’t heal, and by then, he would’ve been truly ruined.

This was the only method to help him through experiential scenarios.

Now, Wang Yafei found it hard to bear. His reaction was normal; he felt Qian violated medical ethics by telling the company about his issues. But he didn’t know, if Qian hadn’t done so and consulted him beforehand, Wang Yafei himself would have been truly ruined.

Even if he joined the company now, later he would have no choice but to use a computer. Then he’d be discovered. The most terrifying thing is that the internal competition in the headquarters is already intense; if found out, those opposing Yu Minglang wouldn’t let him off easily, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

His situation was too unique; normally, there would be no problem. But if pressured, just looking at a computer would trigger incidents. If the timing of his fainting was inappropriate, others could find out, causing loss to the company and marking a regrettable career pause for him.

Mr Liu believed Qian’s actions were spot-on, though strictly speaking, they didn’t meet professional ethics. But from Mr Liu’s emotional perspective, if it were her, she would have done the same.

Yet, at a certain juncture, a person’s thoughts are easily stuck, and Wang Yafei was at that impasse.

”Just leave, I won’t accept treatment. Don’t worry, I’ll recover when the time comes. All those pressing righteousness and considering the bigger picture, nothing they worry about will happen, I won’t touch computers anymore.”

Wang Yafei said weakly, he wasn’t even sure what he said, but at that moment, he just wanted to escape.

”She sincerely wants to help you, yet you misunderstand her like this. Refusing to face your own condition won’t do you any good.” Mr Liu said to Wang Yafei’s lonely silhouette.

What he got was only a silent silhouette, a man whose dreams shattered, unwilling to speak.

Mr Liu shook his head, she insisted on her way, Qian was right.

Qian and Yu Minglang walked over together after hugging enough.

”Little cannonball, he rejected treatment, I’ll work on it later. Don’t let it shadow you psychologically, you’re correct.” Mr Liu reaffirmed Qian, and Qian blinked.

”I didn’t hear clearly, could you say it again?”

”You are correct.”

”Still didn’t hear clearly...”

”You are correct—wait, you little rascal, are you tricking me?”

That’s right, tricking you! Qian just wanted to hear the teacher confirm her actions, she gave a mischievous smile upon accomplishing that.

Mr Liu chuckled, tapping her head lightly with a finger, ”You, I was worried for nothing, thought you’d be upset.”

Turns out this little girl truly doesn’t care.

Her heart is so big.

”Why would I be upset? There are plenty of people who dislike me, who does he think he is?” Qian did this for one purpose alone, to prevent future troubles for Yu Minglang.

Her goal was achieved, whether Wang Yafei understood or not, all she wanted to protect was her man Yu Minglang, that’s all.

”I’ll find him later again, he said he doesn’t want to touch computers anymore, wants to go back and grow vegetables.”

”No need,” Yu Minglang interjected.

”You don’t want this talent?” Mr Liu asked, judging by earlier feedback, Yu Minglang should care deeply for Wang Yafei.

”I do, but if he can’t overcome such a setback, then he’s not suited to be my employee. My employees have to face far more hardships, if a little difficulty makes him want to grow vegetables, then he’s not suitable to be my employee.”

Yu Minglang spoke those words without any personal emotion.

He spoke responsibly with serious intent.

Qian nodded, exchanging a knowing glance with Yu Minglang.

Actually, this was something Qian had suggested to Yu Minglang before; she hoped Yu Minglang could arrange another exam for Wang Yafei after his recovery, and if he passed, to let him join, as good talent is hard to find.

Mental illness is not incurable; everyone might face different psychological issues at different times, much like common cold, and you cannot completely deny someone’s talent and effort because they’ve had a mental condition, that’s discrimination.

Yu Minglang agreed to Qian’s request but also made his principles clear; an exception could be made under the condition that Wang Yafei could control his emotions because Yu Minglang intended to develop him into a very high-ranking executive, a position requiring extremely strong psychological resilience where no deviation could occur.

Higher ranks naturally demand stricter governance, so Yu Minglang didn’t want Mr Liu to seek out Wang Yafei, which was also a form of responsibility toward him.

Just like how Liu Li no longer insisted on leaving, everyone has different roles they’re suited for. If truly unsuitable, one must never force it.

Yu Minglang and Qian exchanged a glance, reading the unspoken understanding in each other’s eyes.
