Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 453: Chapter 427: Suspected Mania (Bonus for 600 Monthly Tickets)

Why did Mr. Liu buy a phone for Mr. Liu last time? It was all because of the issue with his child’s work. He had a huge argument with Mr. Liu, who insisted on finding a stable job for the son, while Mr. Liu didn’t want to take advantage of the organization.

The two had a fight, he spoke harshly and regretted it, wanting to reconcile, so he bought a phone, but it ended up being thrown out.

”You’re mixing business with personal matters here. This isn’t special treatment for you, you shouldn’t be so serious about this. Even if Lone Wolf isn’t your son, he’s our brother. He only has one brother, and setting up his life is the right thing to do. There’s no reason just because he’s your son, you won’t let him enjoy even normal treatment.”

Mr. Liu couldn’t let go of this. This matter would be normal for others, but for Liu Li, Mr. Liu felt uneasy. In fact, Yu Minglang understood, Mr. Liu was similar to Mr. Yu in this aspect.

In their hearts, the interest of the group has surpassed everything. If they can avoid trouble, they choose to avoid it. Yu Minglang doesn’t comment on other matters, but he sticks to his own opinion regarding Liu Li.

”Uncle, this matter isn’t as complicated as you think, really. With me here, Liu Li’s involvement won’t bring the slightest trouble to anyone else. We just want him to experience work, to feel the workplace. If, after experiencing workplace challenges, he still insists on his ideal, then we’ll let him proceed step by step. If he feels his brother’s glory and understands that there are extraordinary achievements in ordinary positions and is able to work peacefully upon returning, isn’t this what everyone wants to see?”

Yu Minglang considers things comprehensively, especially after he got together with Qian, he has gained deep insight into psychological issues. A thousand words can’t infect people as much as an act. For Lone Wolf, for the glory of the team, Yu Minglang wants to give Liu Li a helping hand.

Mr. Liu still doesn’t agree, though Yu Minglang’s words are reasonable, they can’t overcome an old stubborn man’s persistence. As Mr. Liu was just about to dismiss Yu Minglang’s proposal, a phone call thoroughly changed his thoughts.

”Hello, Mr. Liu, I am Chen Xiaoqian.”

”Chen Xiaoqian?” Mr. Liu didn’t immediately react, while Yu Minglang quickly wanted to take the phone.

Could it be that Qian wants to find him, and due to poor cell phone signal, she called Mr. Liu instead?

”Don’t hand the phone to Yu Minglang, I’m not looking for him, I’m looking for you.”

Qian’s words made Mr. Liu retract his hand, while Yu Minglang was puzzled.

Why is Mei calling Uncle?

”I know my Xiaoqiang is craning his neck to listen in openly, so to save him the trouble, please put the phone on speaker.”

Mr. Liu obliged, and Xiaoqian’s voice clearly came through the receiver.

”My words here are spoken in my capacity as a psychologist.”

”...Mei, you unlicensed doctor, how come you flaunt in front of my leader?”

”Xiaoqiang, shut up and listen to me!”

Even over the phone, Chen Xiaoqian’s authority was palpable. When two strong forces meet, there must be one weaker, and Yu Minglang was that weaker one.

”Go ahead.”

”Because I can’t leave the teacher for too long, lest she gets worried, so I can only tell you these words over the phone, to inform you of some bad news: Liu Li just called me, claiming he might have manic disorder.”

”Manic...what?” Mr. Liu didn’t understand.

”Manic disorder, a psychological illness prevalent in spring, characterized by excitement, emotional extremes, and abundant energy. Mild cases are fine, but if it develops severely into manic-depressive disorder, it can pose a threat to those around him, even his own life.”

Initially, Mr. Liu was stunned, but quickly dismissed the idea.

”Impossible, that brat has always been big-hearted since he was little, he can’t have this.”

”Specifically, I haven’t had a face-to-face interaction, nor have I spoken with the teacher, but based on Liu Li’s usual behavior, I don’t rule out this possibility.”

Any parent hearing about their child’s psychological illness would initially not believe it, then panic.

Especially since Mr. Liu hasn’t been around the child for a long time, hearing this news was like a bolt from the blue.

”Mei, what is your basis for this diagnosis?” Yu Minglang snapped back first.

”Firstly, Liu Li says he can’t sleep, only sleeps 3 hours a day, yet still has boundless energy. You can ask the teacher about this, it’s a frequent occurrence. He sleeps just a few hours, then dances the next day. He feels his brain is hyperactive, yet doesn’t realize he’s already exhausting his body.”

”What else?”

”He said he always wants to meddle in others’ affairs. I can confirm this, I’ve seen him touching women’s trash on the bus before.”

”Touch whom?!” Yu Minglang was furious.

”Calm down, it wasn’t me.”

”Oh...” Xiaoqiang calmed down.

”In short, this child indeed has the possibility of having manic disorder. I wanted to inform Mr. Liu in advance.”

”Then, how should this illness be treated?” Mr. Liu was anxious, not expecting his son might have such an illness.

”It’s not hard to treat, but the tricky part is the parents must accompany, and it needs to be kept from the teacher.”

”Mei, why do all your psychological treatments involve parental accompaniment?” Yu Minglang recalled Qian telling him she required parental company for treating anorexia, for Panpan too she insisted on the second brother accompanying, and now again for parental accompaniment?

In Qian’s mind, she felt like breaking Yu Minglang into pieces. You loose-tongued, talkative person, you alone can spot issues!

If the teacher was nearby, they’d have easily spotted the flaw. Since treating manic disorder indeed doesn’t require parental accompaniment, Qian just added this herself.

Taking advantage of the two men at the other end of the line not knowing much about this, adhering to the principle of ”I am the doctor, thus right,” Qian launched into an elaborate and ridiculous narrative.

”This manic disorder is related to major setbacks, among other factors. I analyze that possibly due to the incident with the brother and lack of parental love, the child developed manic disorder. Now only by filling the void in his heart with love can he be healed.”

Her words, half true and half false but very professional, convincingly fooled those not within the field in an instant.

”But due to my work...can’t Liu accompany him?” Mr. Liu hesitated.

”My teacher is still a patient; do you want her to further experience stress? Moreover, fatherly love is essential in a boy’s growth, even the best mother can’t replace a father in certain areas.”

”But I’m very busy with work...” It’s not that Mr. Liu doesn’t want to accompany the child, it’s just that he’s always busy all year round, and also separated from the child’s mother—he prefers the term separated over divorce.

In his heart, that home quietly resides within his memories, and opening the door, he believes he would see the warm, smiling face of the child’s mother.
