Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 452: Chapter 426: Special Request

The company isn’t really a place for personal relationships. In Yu Minglang’s team, every member is the best at what they do, capable of holding their own, yet they work together as an inseparable whole, focusing on teamwork.

If someone suddenly joins with insufficient ability, it’s irresponsible to the others—this rule was personally set by him when he returned.

”Then why did you say to let him participate in the selection?” Mr. Liu was annoyed, imagining his wife scratching at him in his mind.

”I just wanted him to experience what you’re doing. Letting him experience it in advance will help him understand his father and brother better, which will be beneficial for his future life.”

Their selection method is quite unique, more like an immersive experience. Letting Liu Li participate was the best solution Yu Minglang could think of.

”No way, absolutely no way!!”

”It’s just an experience. Whether he passes or not, he’s not coming into our company.”

”Do you think this company is some fruit-picking farm experience? Anyone can join?! Let me emphasize, there’s no such precedent!”

Mr. Liu was getting angry, but Yu Minglang wasn’t affected at all and suddenly smiled slyly.

”What are you smirking at, kid?”

”I’m laughing...it’s too late for you to get angry, there’s going to be a precedent for this soon.” Yu Minglang acted first and reported later.

”What do you mean?” Mr. Liu suddenly had a bad feeling.

”I called my dad; he gave special approval for this. A formal document will be down in a few days.”

Mr. Liu was stunned, quickly realizing and becoming furious.

”You little brat! How dare you bypass levels!”

”I knew you wouldn’t agree, so just now, while you were rushing to pay at the restaurant, I sneakily called my dad. My dad even praised me, saying this was a special case for a special task.”

Mr. Liu stood up in anger, chasing after Yu Minglang.

The space was just that big, but Yu Minglang was jumping around, expertly avoiding Mr. Liu’s blows.

”How can your dad let you mess around like this? This is too much, stop dodging, kid!” Mr. Liu angrily pointed at Yu Minglang.

Yu Minglang grinned, ”If I don’t dodge, I’ll really get hit. Uncle, I have to proctor an exam the day after tomorrow, you don’t want to bruise me and ruin my appearance...”

”I’ll beat you until you can’t take care of yourself! No way, I need to call your dad, this can’t be approved.”

Mr. Liu pulled out his phone, while Yu Minglang was still poking at Mr. Liu’s sore spots.

”Uncle, you should consider changing your phone. Speaking of which, I remember you wanted to buy a phone for Mrs. Liu a while back, trying to get her to reconcile with you, right? But you got kicked out again. You can’t woo a woman like that, look at how well Qian and I get along—ah!”

Yu Minglang narrowly avoided Mr. Liu’s swinging foot, which would definitely have caused internal injuries if it had connected.

”Shut up!” Seeing this little rascal made Mr. Liu angry!

”I’ll give you a friendly reminder, your call won’t get through, my dad won’t pick up. We’ve agreed on this. Moreover, he issued an urgent document, it should already be at the company by now, your opposition is useless...”

”Damn it! How did you brainwash your dad? Since when did Yu let you mess around like this?”

”I didn’t brainwash him. My dad knows, I know, our whole family knows, this has to be done.”

Before calling Mr. Yu, Yu Minglang also called Qiao Zhen, who agreed with his plan, since Liu Shuang was their mutual friend — although, Yu Minglang always felt Qiao Zhen’s tone was a bit odd when he answered...

”Is it just because he’s my son?” Mr. Liu said irritably. He despised the misuse of power all his life, and loathed this kind of behavior. If he really gave his son preferential treatment, it would eat at him for a whole year.

”No, because he’s our brother. Lone Wolf is gone, his little brother is everyone’s little brother. We can’t ignore our own brother. He’s your son, but he’s also family to all of us. My dad understands better than you.”

Mr. Liu was stunned by Yu Minglang’s words. Yu Minglang came over, speaking earnestly to Mr. Liu.

”He’s indeed your son, but he’s also Liu Shuang’s only brother! We can’t have Liu Shuang leaving unsettled. Those guys walked this path with me, each one of them is our brother. Lone Wolf was not just your son, he was our brother, and he had only one little brother. This kid is a bit lost in life, can us older brothers just ignore him?”

”But...” Mr. Liu was touched by Yu Minglang’s reasoning; he hadn’t realized this was why Yu Minglang intervened.

”No buts. I’m not doing this for your sake. My dad approved it not because of you either. Today, if Liu Li weren’t your son, if the deceased Lone Wolf weren’t your son, but one of our other brothers, would you not approve?”

Yeah, how could he not approve?

Mr. Liu was moved by Yu Minglang’s words. If it were the little brother of anyone else, he would definitely approve, and even, like Mr. Yu, applaud Yu Minglang’s proposal.

”We’re thinking of our little brother, how can this be seen as favoritism to you?”

Yu Minglang was speaking the truth.

Mr. Liu was silent for a long time before finally speaking.

”About the kid, I’ll talk to his mother, and we’ll work on his mentality, try not to cause trouble for the company. Actually, if it wasn’t for his mother being unreasonable, I wouldn’t want anyone arranging a formal position for Liu Li.”

If Lone Wolf had kids, the company would take care of them until they were 18, including school costs, etc. Lone Wolf didn’t have children, so the position was given to Lone Wolf’s brother. This was simply undeniable since it was earned by Liu Shuang’s sacrifice, and his affairs would be well taken care of afterward.

But even so, Mr. Liu felt uncomfortable about it, and even quarreled with Mr. Liu about this, with continuous disagreements between the couple.
