As Gu Xi made a move, a ding sound echoed by his ear.

But Gu Xi didn’t have time to pay attention to that, the swing under his strike made the blue-skinned octopus head that hadn’t leapt onto the Three-legged Golden Crow flip mid-air, crashing heavily onto a falling steel column.

At this moment, the Three-legged Golden Crow flipped in the air, quickly flying through the interior of the skyscraper.

It completely ignored what was ahead, just colliding straight, unconcerned about injuries it might sustain.

Seeing the scene unfold, Gu Xi realized something was wrong with the Three-legged Golden Crow.

He wanted to follow after for a closer look, but hesitated briefly, turning to head towards the spot where the Three-legged Golden Crow had hovered before.

With the Three-legged Golden Crow not pursuing him now, he could go over and check.

Check if there were people over there, check if this Three-legged Golden Crow belonged to the Chaoyang Radiance Guild President.

”Let’s go!”

The Holy Silver Evil Coffin immediately jumped into the shadows, using its maximum speed to rush in the direction Gu Xi pointed.

This leap was unhindered by the impact with the Three-legged Golden Crow, making for quite a smooth journey for the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

But Gu Xi’s heart was not at ease.

His mind was swirling with various questions.

The most critical one was whether that Three-legged Golden Crow belonged to the Chaoyang Radiance Guild.

If it did, why did it attack him?

If not, why was it here?

Why would it attack Gu Xi?

Gu Xi hadn’t figured this out when the Holy Silver Evil Coffin leapt out from the shadows.

Momentarily disoriented by the light, Gu Xi narrowed his eyes.

Then Gu Xi felt a sharp pain on his neck, as if something had just bitten him.

Gu Xi instinctively swatted at it, pulling off a blue creature resembling both a tadpole and a leech.

It was only then that Gu Xi noticed five octopus heads, similar to the heavily armored one he had encountered earlier, staring at him from a short distance away.

Being so close, Gu Xi could clearly see how oddly their eyes were positioned on their faces.

Besides having a pair at the normal eye spots, they also had eyes on their foreheads, chins, or cheeks.

When Gu Xi appeared, all their eyes widened, staring at him.

Their expression seemed to question how Gu Xi could show up.

Suddenly, an idea struck Gu Xi.

The Spirit Lamp Carrier emerged immediately, without waiting for Gu Xi’s orders.

Upon appearing, he resolutely shielded Gu Xi.

From the Spirit Lamp Carrier’s actions, Gu Xi realized that these octopus heads were all skilled in psychic powers.

They had been influencing him with their psychic abilities.

However, they hadn’t expected that Gu Xi, having confronted the Life-taking Stone, was already aware of the terrifying power of psychic abilities.

Upon acquiring the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp, Gu Xi had kept the immunity effect against psychic powers active, except in special circumstances.

As a result, their initial attempt to use psychic powers on Gu Xi failed.

Instead, it released the Spirit Lamp Carrier.

Understanding this, Gu Xi didn’t hesitate and pointed directly at the octopus heads.

The octopus heads reacted instantly to Gu Xi raising the longbow in his hand, their actions diverging immediately.

Two octopus heads wearing red robes retreated instantly, while one heavily armored octopus head advanced with a peculiar weapon.

The remaining two octopus heads holding water guns filled with blue liquid prepared for combat.

Clearly, they composed a squad with a balance of fighter, mage, healer, and two attackers.

But the weapons they wielded, from the mage’s to the warrior’s, were all unfamiliar to Gu Xi.

Facing the charging warrior, Gu Xi instinctively took a shooting stance.

”Defense, dodge!”

The charging octopus head warrior shouted a bizarre scream, and while incomprehensible, its meaning surfaced directly in Gu Xi’s mind.

Clearly, those in control of psychic powers were indeed different.

They could communicate psychically like this directly.

Gu Xi even speculated.

The Eye of the Soul hanging around his neck, used to communicate with his heroes, might be made from the eyes of such octopus heads.

While contemplating, Gu Xi performed his first move.

”Death Incarnation!”

Lightning then struck the octopus head warrior.

The warrior clad in heavy armor, wielded a short staff as a shield in his left hand and a 2.5-meter-long flexible sword in his right.

In the octopus head’s hand, the flexible sword worked like a long whip, twisting and slicing towards the enemy skillfully.

Yet neither the short staff nor the flexible sword had any defensive effect against lightning.

The bolt of lightning struck, instantly sending the octopus head warrior flying.

Then, the two octopus heads with water guns simultaneously fired at Gu Xi, spraying large masses of blue liquid towards him.

But just then, Gu Xi’s two Death Incarnations appeared on the battlefield.

This time, Gu Xi used Death Incarnation-Titan and Death Incarnation-Death God.

The lightning bolt earlier had been the power of Death Incarnation-Titan.

”Death Incarnation? He’s not a shooter; he’s an Undead Mage!”

One of the retreating octopus heads screamed, and as the meaning of those words flashed in Gu Xi’s mind, he too was shocked. He promptly lifted his head and looked at that octopus head.

Though both retreating octopus heads were clad in red robes, the details of their attire were problematic.

The speaking octopus head had a muddy mark on its sleeve.

Immediately, Gu Xi felt like this mud was an undead.

Was the octopus head an Undead Mage?

Gu Xi was puzzled; where did such a judgment come from?

But this did not mean Gu Xi could forget the current situation.

Having grasped the situation, Gu Xi did not stop his actions.

Flame Domain!

Gale Skill!

Ice Ripple!

Gu Xi cast three spells in quick succession.

Yet as Gu Xi released his spells, the two masses of blue liquid approached just in front of him.

Under the effect of flame and wind, the blue liquids clashed with the flames.

Not far from the octopus head warrior, the clash resulted in two booming explosions.

The blast’s shockwave was strong enough to nearly blow Gu Xi away.

At that moment, Gu Xi realized.

These octopus heads weren’t ordinary game monsters; they were tough to deal with.
