Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1004: Chapter 1002: The Fourth Equipment Carrier – Orange-Clad White Bone Obelisk

At this moment, Gu Xi was faced with three choices.

One was to abandon the idea of conquering the White Bone Obelisk, letting it go free.

This was the option Gu Xi least wanted to choose.

Doing so would mean all of Gu Xi’s efforts would have been in vain.

Moreover, it would reveal Gu Xi’s true Orange Equipment.

That would only be the beginning of the biggest trouble.

So this thought merely flashed through Gu Xi’s mind and was immediately dismissed.

The second option was to destroy the White Bone Obelisk he had just absorbed, utilizing its power to enhance his Flame Light Six Paths Disc.

This was indeed a good choice as it would strengthen his Flame Light Six Paths Disc and might lead to new functions or other changes, but the outcome would always be positive.

In the absence of other options, taking this route was also a good one.

The third choice was to bring in another piece of Orange Equipment or item to suppress and assimilate the White Bone Obelisk, using the new Orange Equipment’s power to possibly draw the White Bone Obelisk into the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp.

This was a good idea and best fit Gu Xi’s initial plan.

But doing so, Gu Xi would have to deploy one piece of Orange Equipment.

For most players today, owning Orange Equipment alone is quite impressive, much less being like Gu Xi, with multiple pieces at his disposal.

If placed in the hands of others, most would not choose this option.

However, when Gu Xi realized this, his eyes lit up.

He drew out the [Netherworld Living Dagger] and placed it into the slot where the White Bone Obelisk was located.

The [Netherworld Living Dagger], as an item, could only be considered half an Orange Equipment; it wasn’t very useful mainly due to its insufficient effects.

At first, Gu Xi thought of trading away this piece of Orange Equipment.

But considering, if he truly traded Orange Equipment, not to mention whether others could afford the price, his actions would essentially announce to others that he has multiple Orange Equipments, so many that he doesn’t even want some.

This would undoubtedly attract a lot of coveting.

Thus, he had always kept this item.

Now the situation was different.

Exchanging the [Netherworld Living Dagger] for the White Bone Obelisk seemed quite worthwhile to Gu Xi.

He reversed the [Netherworld Living Dagger] and threw it into the slot holding the White Bone Obelisk.

The next moment, the [Netherworld Living Dagger] was instantly disassembled, and an orange glow surged into the Flame Light Six Paths Disc.

Then the originally phantom-like White Bone Obelisk began to solidify.

But soon, the shadow of the White Bone Obelisk incessantly trembled, seemingly on the verge of dissipating.

Gu Xi had already invested an Orange Equipment here. How could he allow the White Bone Obelisk a chance to escape?

Gu Xi extended his right hand, the Fox Eye Ring also shone, using its traits of suppression and purification, pointing into the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp.

The White Bone Obelisk, attempting to vanish, was stabilized under the suppression of the Fox Eye Ring.

Watching the White Bone Obelisk gradually consolidating, Gu Xi’s gaze improved considerably.

He hadn’t anticipated the White Bone Obelisk being this troublesome to deal with.

He had expended the forces of three Orange Equipment pieces to achieve the current situation.

If not for those three Orange Equipment, he feared he wouldn’t have been able to suppress the White Bone Obelisk at all.

In truth, Gu Xi didn’t realize his choice was correct, but he had given too much.

If he had only infused a portion of Orange Equipment energy into the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp, breaking apart part of the Obelisk’s deputy quality, it would have been resolved long ago.

However, Gu Xi neither knew this nor could he truly use the [Netherworld Living Dagger].

So his action sent the entire Netherworld Living Dagger in.

This granted the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp a different reaction.

Gu Xi aimed to acquire the entire White Bone Obelisk.

That required more energy to transform the White Bone Obelisk from a deputy to a prime.

Thus, the energy from the [Netherworld Living Dagger] felt insufficient.

If Gu Xi hadn’t ultimately utilized the Fox Eye Ring’s power, possibly this final move would have been fruitless.

But fortunately, in that finale, Gu Xi managed to stabilize the situation.

As the shadowy White Bone Obelisk slowly solidified, a voice rang in Gu Xi’s ears.

[Discovered one suppressible Orange Equipment, do you wish to suppress?]

[Please note, this Orange Equipment is a temporary enhancement by extracting the original power of the deputy Orange Equipment. If not suppressed, it can only exist for seven hours when removed.]

Hearing the voice, Gu Xi decisively stated: ”Proceed with suppression!”

With those words from Gu Xi, an orange glow emanated from the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp.

In the fiery light of the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp, the character ’Heaven’ appeared.

An Equipment Carrier stepped out from the flames.

The condition of this carrier was unlike Gu Xi’s other three carriers.

Though still resembling a black-matchstick figure, his eyes sparkled with orange light.

Additionally, he bore not just one piece of Orange Equipment but wore Eastern-style armor made of White Bones, holding his right hand horizontally at chest level as if supporting a small White Bone Obelisk like the deity that holds towers.

Furthermore, between his brows lay a dagger.

Gu Xi recognized it at once; the dagger originated from his [Netherworld Living Dagger].

Except now, the [Netherworld Living Dagger] had become the energy source for the carrier.

Becoming part of the carrier, it could no longer be removed.

With the carrier standing before him, Gu Xi could examine some attributes of the White Bone Obelisk.

Despite Gu Xi’s substantial investment, almost simultaneously calling upon three Orange Equipment pieces, the White Bone Obelisk belonging to Bailian City wasn’t entirely brought over.

The White Bone Obelisk in Gu Xi’s hand was still a deputy, but now this deputy was unique, boasting most of the effects of a prime.
