Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Tutoring Agreement? Gu Yifan: Loser Calls Me Daddy

Watching Gu Yifan’s outrageous maneuver, Su Qinghe was momentarily at a loss for words.

”There, now you can’t return them!”

”This is all women’s clothing. I can’t wear it, so if you don’t want it, I’ll just have to throw it all away!”

Gu Yifan said, looking at her with a completely straight face.

”But...”

Su Qinghe’s small face was a mask of indecision.

”How about... I pay you back for these clothes and shoes.”

”It’s just, I don’t have that much money on me right now. Can I pay you back slowly after I get my salary next month?”

she offered after a moment of thought.

Honestly, she had only known Gu Yifan for less than two days. The thought of just accepting clothes from him for free felt strange. More than anything, it was embarrassing.

”Salary?”

Gu Yifan paused. ”You have a job?” he asked, a little surprised.

”Mhm...”

Su Qinghe nodded.

”Then what about coming out with me today? Did that cause any problems for you?”

”Today’s my day off.”

Su Qinghe explained, ”I work part-time, only on Sundays.”

”Oh, I see.”

Gu Yifan nodded.

’That makes sense.’

’Su Qinghe is all alone at home now. It’s only normal for her to work a part-time job off-campus. After all, she has to support herself.’

’Still, having to work part-time while you’re still in high school... that’s really tough.’

’No wonder the clothes she’s been wearing these past two days are so worn.’ The thought made Gu Yifan’s heart ache for this girl who had suffered so much hardship.

A desire to help this ill-fated girl welled up inside him.

”How much do you make in a day at your job?”

Gu Yifan asked after a moment of thought.

Su Qinghe was taken aback. Although she found his question a bit strange, she answered truthfully, ”I work part-time at a steamed bun shop. It’s four and a half yuan an hour, so I can make about fifty yuan a day.”

”Only fifty a day?”

Gu Yifan frowned.

”Mhm... But it’s not bad. The bun shop is mostly just busy in the morning. Around noon, we start cleaning up, so it’s easier than other jobs. It’s not that tiring.”

”Plus, the owner is an old lady. She knows I’m a student and is really nice to me.”

Su Qinghe nodded as she explained.

”Hmm... How about this? You don’t have to pay me back. Aren’t you always first in our grade? From now on, besides working on Sundays, you can tutor me for two hours every afternoon. After half a month, we’ll call it even. If you continue tutoring me after that, I’ll pay you ten yuan an hour. What do you think?”

Gu Yifan said after some deliberation.

Based on what he’d learned about Su Qinghe over the past two days, Gu Yifan knew her personality. If she said she’d pay him back, she definitely would.

So, he had to use this method to get her to accept!

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe froze again. She really hadn’t expected Gu Yifan to say something like that.

She fell silent for a moment, more or less understanding his intention.

’I don’t know how good his grades are, but I know he’s only saying this to give me a reason to accept the clothes and shoes.’

”If you want tutoring, I can help you.”

”But I still have to give you the money for the clothes.”

”I still haven’t repaid you for saving my life. How could I take your money... I...”

Before Su Qinghe could finish, Gu Yifan cut her off, waving his hand with feigned impatience. ”Aiyah, that’s enough. It’s settled. Stop being so wishy-washy, you’re acting like a girl!”

Su Qinghe’s eyes went wide, and she shot Gu Yifan a puzzled look.

’Acting like a girl...?’

’But I *am* a girl.’

Seeing her staring at him with wide eyes, Gu Yifan spoke again. ”Come on, your grades are so good, people would be begging for you to tutor them. If you think about it, I’m the one getting the better end of the deal!”

Su Qinghe: ”But...”

At first glance, what Gu Yifan said seemed to make a lot of sense. But deep down, Su Qinghe knew very well that he was only doing this because he simply wanted to help her.

Once she realized this, her feelings became even more complicated.

For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

Silence...

A long moment later...

Su Qinghe thought for a bit, then looked up at Gu Yifan and said, ”Alright, I’ll keep the clothes and shoes. I can tutor you all the way until the college entrance exams, but I can’t take your money.”

Hearing her say that, Gu Yifan knew she definitely wouldn’t accept any money for the tutoring.

He thought for a moment, realizing that helping Su Qinghe couldn’t be rushed. In the end, he nodded and said, ”Fine, we’ll do it your way.”

Hearing this, Su Qinghe finally nodded in satisfaction.

...

After dropping Su Qinghe off at school, Gu Yifan didn’t linger. He hailed a cab and went straight to the Fingertip Fate Internet Cafe.

That guy Wang Zibo was sitting in a corner of the cafe with his headphones on, cursing a blue streak while playing a game.

His voice was loud.

Gu Yifan heard his distinctive, duck-like quack of a voice the moment he walked into the cafe.

Following the sound, Gu Yifan walked straight up behind his chair.

But Wang Zibo was so engrossed in his game that he didn’t notice Gu Yifan’s arrival at all.

”ACE!!!”

”DEFEAT!!!”

As the sound effects for a team wipe and defeat rang out, Wang Zibo angrily ripped off his headphones, slammed them on the desk, and cursed, ”FUCK!!!”

Just then, he suddenly sensed someone behind him. He instinctively turned his head and saw Gu Yifan staring at him with a blank expression.

Huh???

He was completely floored.

After a moment of shock, he put on a fawning expression and said, ”Bro... Brother Fan, when did you get here? Why didn’t you give me a heads-up? I could have...”

”Could have run away?” Gu Yifan said flatly.

”Uh...”

”Brother Fan, how could you say that? I’m not that kind of person!”

”Heh heh heh...”

Wang Zibo said with an awkward laugh.

”Heh.”

Gu Yifan also let out a humorless chuckle. The sound made Wang Zibo’s mouse hand tremble, and he nearly dropped it.

”Brother Fan, what happened earlier really wasn’t my fault! You know what a rotten temper Princess Ning has. I couldn’t handle it!”

Wang Zibo hurriedly explained.

”Alright!”

”I’ll settle the score with you later for that!”

”Right now!”

”Cut the crap!”

”Come on, log in!”

”If I don’t beat you until you call me Daddy today, then I’ll have wasted the last few decades of my life!”

Gu Yifan waved his hand dismissively, then gestured grandly.

When he heard Gu Yifan was talking about gaming, Wang Zibo’s eyes lit up.

”Bring it on!”

”Who’s scared of who?!”

”Loser calls the winner Daddy!”

He licked his lips and said excitedly, ”My Yasuo is sick!”

Gu Yifan: ”...”
