Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Gu Yifan: Let’s jump together, we’ll have company on the road to the underworld

”I agree!!”

”Let’s talk this out, please don’t jump!”

Hearing Su Qinghe’s anxious voice from behind him, the corner of Gu Yifan’s mouth curled up slightly!

’In the bag!’

’Ah, women!’

’Heh. And she was so easy to get a handle on!’

That’s right!

Gu Yifan was just faking it.

He wasn’t an idiot; there was no way he was actually going to jump.

「Two minutes earlier.」

The moment Gu Yifan forced the spicy strips from his hand into Su Qinghe’s, the system’s standard, mechanical female voice instantly echoed in his mind.

”DING~”

”A beautiful life should not end like this. The system has detected that Treasure Girl Su Qinghe is determined to die, triggering a main system mission!”

”Host, please save her and convince her to give up on the idea of suicide!”

”System friendly reminder: Treasure Girl Su Qinghe is an ideal match for the Host. Her desire to die is currently intense, and the situation is critical. Immediate action is recommended!”

[Note: The ”Blue Pill of Hundredfold Attack Speed” can temporarily enhance the Host’s physical attributes—such as stamina, endurance, and reflexes—by a factor of 10 (duration: 10 minutes). This pill may save the Host’s life in a crisis. It is recommended that the Host consume it immediately!]

Gu Yifan was speechless.

As the system’s voice faded, Gu Yifan froze for a moment, then turned to give the still-dazed Su Qinghe a complicated look.

’Treasure Girl Su Qinghe... an ideal match...’

’And that Blue Pill of Hundredfold Attack Speed... so that’s how you use it.’

’I’d thought it was something shady, like one of those little blue pills from India!’

’I never thought it would have an effect like this!’

’No wonder the system mentioned it could save my life in a crisis.’

Huh?

’Wait a minute!’

’Stamina, endurance, and reflexes, all temporarily enhanced tenfold... for ten minutes.’

’That doesn’t sound too different from the little blue pill, does it!’

’Besides, with a tenfold boost to your physical attributes for ten minutes... you could probably plow right through an elephant!’

Gu Yifan couldn’t help but shudder.

The mental image was too horrifying to contemplate!

Of course!

Not that he, Gu Yifan, would ever need such a thing. He was confident enough about that!

At most, it was something to be used in a life-or-death crisis, just as the system had said.

But none of that was the point.

The point was figuring out how to save Su Qinghe first!

While Gu Yifan was lost in his own thoughts, Su Qinghe snapped out of her daze.

She glanced at the spicy strips in her hand, then at the preoccupied Gu Yifan, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

That’s right!

By now, Su Qinghe had recognized Gu Yifan.

And why wouldn’t she?

Barging into the campus radio station, the public confession, and on top of that, the self-criticism at the pledge rally just now!

With this series of grand exploits from Gu Yifan...

...it would have been hard for her not to recognize him!

”BANG BANG BANG~”

”Hey, student, open the door!”

”You’re still young, don’t do anything foolish!”

...

Listening to the pounding and shouting coming from the rooftop door not far away, Su Qinghe couldn’t for the life of her figure out how Gu Yifan had gotten up here!

She had clearly bolted the door from the inside just a moment ago.

After a moment’s thought, she realized there was only one possibility!

Gu Yifan had already been here before she arrived!

’Could it be... he’s here to jump off the building, too?’

’After all, his confession was rejected, and then he had to make that public self-criticism.’

’It would make sense if he couldn’t get over it and did something drastic.’

’Sigh...’

’We’re both in the same boat, fellow castaways.’

Su Qinghe sighed to herself.

At this moment, Gu Yifan also snapped out of it.

He’d been thinking for a while but still couldn’t come up with a good plan.

So!

He decided!

To use the ”KTV Method”!

He would rely on his silver tongue to lick... ahem, no, to sweet-talk Su Qinghe!

In short, he’d calm her down first, then find a chance to save her.

Right!

That’s it!

That’s the plan!

”Uh...”

Suddenly,

Gu Yifan froze.

He’d just realized that Su Qinghe was staring intently at him.

’Has this girl already seen through my plan??’

Gu Yifan wondered suspiciously.

Silence...

After another long thirty seconds of silence, Gu Yifan spoke up. ”So...”

But before he could finish, he heard Su Qinghe ask, her face completely serious, ”Are you here to jump off the building, too?”

Gu Yifan was at a complete loss for words.

’Are you here to jump off the building, too?’

’What the hell???’

’Who asks someone a question like that?!’

He stared at Su Qinghe, dumbfounded. ’This girl’s brain isn’t wired like a normal person’s!’

”Ahem.”

”No!”

Gu Yifan coughed awkwardly and replied with a helpless tone.

Hmm?

Hearing his answer, Su Qinghe’s brow furrowed slightly.

”Hah.”

”Actually, I just came up here to enjoy the view. I assume you did too, right?”

Gu Yifan said, trying to change the subject.

”No.”

Su Qinghe shook her head gently, then said with a serious expression, ”I’m here to jump off the building.”

Gu Yifan was speechless.

Seeing the earnest look on her delicate face, Gu Yifan truly had no idea what to say.

The two of them fell silent again.

”Um... how about you don’t jump?”

After holding it in for a long moment, Gu Yifan suddenly looked up at her and spoke.

”Huh?”

Su Qinghe was taken aback.

”Why do you want to jump?”

”Young lady, that’s a very dangerous line of thought!”

”You’re so young, and you have such a long road ahead of you. What kind of obstacle is impossible to overcome?”

”Besides, if you jump from this high up, you’ll probably land face-first. It’ll be a gruesome sight!”

”You’re so beautiful. You wouldn’t want to leave this world looking so hideous, would you?”

Seeing that she was stunned, Gu Yifan pressed on, trying to talk her out of jumping.

However, after he finished, Su Qinghe’s eyes only flickered for a moment before she fell silent again.

’This...’

Seeing that she was unmoved, Gu Yifan felt a sense of helplessness.

’Just as I thought!’

’That damn system wasn’t lying. This girl is really hell-bent on dying!’

”BANG BANG BANG~!”

Hearing the pounding on the door from the stairwell grow louder, Gu Yifan knew that the better choice would be to run over, open the door to let the school administrators in, and then try to persuade her together.

That way, even if Su Qinghe did jump, he could absolve himself of any responsibility!

But!

He didn’t dare to risk it!

In the current situation, the moment he moved away, Su Qinghe would probably jump without a second’s hesitation.

”So you’re determined to jump, is that it?”

At his wit’s end, Gu Yifan steeled himself, gritted his teeth, and asked.

”Mm-hm.”

Su Qinghe glanced up at him before nodding lightly.

”Fine!”

”Since you want to jump, I’ll jump with you!”

He shot to his feet and declared, looking right at Su Qinghe.

”Huh?”

”Why?”

She looked at Gu Yifan, completely bewildered.

”Let me put it this way. First off, if you kill yourself, making me watch you jump right in front of me when I couldn’t save you, I’ll feel guilty. It’ll hurt, and it might even leave me with trauma!”

”Second, all those people downstairs who don’t know what’s going on will probably blame me for not saving you. Then I’ll have to face everyone’s accusations and condemnations!”

”Finally, if this whole thing gets online, I’ll probably get cyberbullied by a mob of clueless netizens. They’ll flame me until I get depression, and then I won’t be able to handle the pressure and will end up committing suicide anyway!”

”So instead of all that, I might as well just jump with you right now!”

”I’ve been humiliated enough for one day anyway, so I might as well just die and get it over with!”

”Let’s jump together. At least we’ll have company on the road to the underworld!”

...
