Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Han Ning: Gu Yifan Doesn’t Want Me Anymore

Su Qinghe’s radiant smile went straight to Gu Yifan’s heart.

”So beautiful!”

Gu Yifan subconsciously muttered to himself.

”Ah~”

A faint blush crept onto Su Qinghe’s pretty face.

’What is this guy talking about!’

Her gaze flickered, and she shyly lowered her head, not daring to look at Gu Yifan.

Snapping back to his senses, Gu Yifan realized he had just lost his composure.

”COUGH, COUGH.”

He faked a couple of coughs to hide his embarrassment.

Su Qinghe, meanwhile, stared at the tips of her toes. For a moment, the atmosphere turned a little charged.

”Um... let’s get going!”

Gu Yifan said.

”Hm?”

Su Qinghe looked up at him, a hint of confusion in her eyes. The faint blush still lingering on her little face was utterly adorable.

”Where are we going?”

She blurted out subconsciously.

”To spend some money.”

”Spend some money?”

”That’s right!”

”Time to spend some money!”

”I got my bank card back, so I’m in a great mood today. Come on, let your big bro take you on a shopping spree!”

Gu Yifan grinned, feeling fantastic.

”Uh...”

”’Big bro’...?”

Su Qinghe looked completely lost, unable to grasp what Gu Yifan meant by that.

However, before she could say anything, Gu Yifan took her by the hand and started pulling her toward the mall across from Riverfront Park.

Feeling Gu Yifan’s hand holding hers once again, Su Qinghe was in a daze.

The warmth from his palm made her delicate, beautiful face, free of any makeup, flush red again.

She glanced at Gu Yifan subconsciously. Seeing that he had no reaction, her mouth opened slightly as if to say something, but in the end, she said nothing at all. She just let him lead her by the hand as they gradually walked out of the park.

.........

Just as the two of them were leaving the park through the south gate, a girl in a wool sweater and black leggings rushed in through the north gate entrance.

Her eyes darted around, searching for something. Before long, she spotted Han Ning sitting dazedly by a park flowerbed, hugging her knees.

Her eyes lit up slightly, and she hurried over to Han Ning’s side with quick little steps.

”Xiaoning’er, Xiaoning’er!” she called out as she ran.

Hearing the voice, Han Ning turned to look in its direction, her eyes filled with confusion.

”Xiaoyan...?”

Seeing her best friend, she seemed to be in a trance.

”HUFF... HUFF...”

”Xiaoning’er, what’s wrong with you?”

”Did someone bully you?”

”Where’s that Gu Yifan guy?”

Wu Xiaoyan asked in surprise, looking at Han Ning’s red and swollen eyes from crying.

Hearing her best friend’s questions, Han Ning’s nose tingled, and a fresh wave of grievance washed over her.

She couldn’t help it. ”WAAAH!” She threw herself into her friend’s arms and began to cry her heart out.

”Uh...”

Wu Xiaoyan was completely dumbfounded by Han Ning’s sudden action.

”Don’t cry, don’t cry! Xiaoning’er, what on earth is wrong?”

”Did that Gu Yifan guy bully you?”

”I’ll go find him and make him pay!”

She said fiercely, clenching her small, chubby fists.

But as soon as she said it, she had second thoughts. ’It’s not like Gu Yifan to bully Han Ning!’ She added, confused, ”But... that’s not right. That guy usually dotes on you, like he’s afraid you’ll break if he drops you. How could he possibly bully you?!”

Hearing the name ”Gu Yifan,” Han Ning’s crying paused for a moment. She looked up at her best friend with a wronged expression and said, ”Gu Yifan... he doesn’t want me anymore, WOOOOHOOO...”

Wu Xiaoyan was speechless.

’Gu Yifan doesn’t want Han Ning anymore...?’

’That’s not right!’

’Didn’t you reject Gu Yifan’s confession yesterday!?’

Looking at her best friend’s tear-streaked, pitiful face, Wu Xiaoyan was utterly baffled.

...

「At the mall entrance.」

Su Qinghe looked down at the few bags of clothes and shoes in her hands, her expression complicated.

Just now, after Gu Yifan had brought her to the fifth floor of the mall, he had walked straight into a women’s clothing store.

She had followed him in, completely bewildered, and then came out just as bewildered.

Except when she came out, she somehow had these bags in her hands.

”System, what’s my current bank card balance?”

Gu Yifan asked the system in his mind.

”DING~”

”Current Host bank card balance is: 68,846.83 yuan.”

The system’s crisp, mechanical female voice instantly echoed in his mind.

’Wait, System, only sixty-something thousand?’

Gu Yifan pursed his lips, asking disbelievingly in his mind.

”DING~”

”Replying to Host: The Host’s first use of the 0-1000x Crit Cashback Card had an initial Crit spending amount of 105 yuan, triggering a Crit cashback multiplier of 666x, for a cashback amount of 69,930 yuan. The Host has currently spent a total of 1,086 yuan, leaving an account balance of 68,846.83 yuan.”

The system’s completely emotionless, mechanical female voice explained in his mind once again.

”Er...”

”Alright then!”

’It’s free money anyway. Can’t be too greedy!’

Thinking of this, Gu Yifan felt much better.

”DING~”

”System Friendly Reminder: The Host has one remaining use of the 0-1000x Crit Cashback Card. The initial Crit amount is limited to the Host’s current bank card balance; any amount exceeding this is invalid. Please use it soon!”

’Oh, that’s right!’

’I still have one more Crit chance!’

’And the initial Crit amount is based on my current bank card balance. That means I can use this Crit Card on my entire balance all at once!’

’With over sixty thousand, even with bad luck, I should be able to get a multiplier of a few times, or even a few dozen times, right?’

’My luck can’t be so bad that I’d get a 0x Crit, can it?’

’But what if I get the max 1000x Crit? Over sixty thousand would become over sixty million... Doesn’t that mean I could pretty much retire on the spot!?’

”TSK, TSK, TSK...”

At this thought, the corners of Gu Yifan’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up.

Just then, Su Qinghe slowly raised her head. She looked at Gu Yifan standing beside her, staring at his phone with a slight smile, her own expression complex.

”Uh...”

Snapping out of his thoughts, Gu Yifan noticed Su Qinghe staring at him with a complicated expression. He froze for a second.

”What’s wrong?” he asked, a little puzzled.

”I... I can’t accept these.”

Su Qinghe hesitated for a moment before finally saying, ”Why don’t you... return them?”

As she spoke, she held the bags out to Gu Yifan.

Gu Yifan fell silent. After a long moment, he looked up at Su Qinghe and said, ”Okay!”

With that, he took the clothing bags from her hands.

”PHEW...”

Seeing that he had agreed, Su Qinghe finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But just then, Gu Yifan was seen rummaging around in one of the bags. He pulled out a receipt and, in a couple of quick motions, ripped it to shreds.

”Huh??”

”You... What are you...???”

Su Qinghe was dumbfounded, staring at him, utterly speechless.

Gu Yifan gave a slight grin and said coolly, ”Can’t return them now!”

Su Qinghe was speechless.
