Moving On from the Tsundere, I Choose the Perfect Sweetheart

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Su Qinghe’s Compromise vs. Han Ning Softened

Hearing Gu Yifan’s explanation, Su Qinghe’s delicate, pretty brows furrowed once more as she seemed to ponder his words.

Seeing this, Gu Yifan didn’t disturb her. He simply spread his arms and walked along the parapet as if it were a balance beam.

Before he knew it, he had walked right up to Su Qinghe.

’A perfect chance!’

Just as Gu Yifan was about to grab her and pull her back inside the safety railing...

Su Qinghe suddenly looked up.

Er...

Gu Yifan’s arms, frozen in mid-air, faltered. The scene grew a little awkward.

”What are you...?”

Su Qinghe tilted her head, asking with a look of pure confusion.

Even with his thick skin, Gu Yifan couldn’t help but blush a little.

”Ahem.”

He faked a cough to hide his embarrassment, then forced a calm tone. ”It’s nothing! Just stretching my legs, heh heh.”

”Anyway, uh... what’s the verdict? Are you still sure you want to jump?”

”If you’re really set on jumping, then I’ll have no choice but to jump with you!”

”I don’t have a choice!”

”I don’t want to die of depression later, buried under a mountain of curses!”

”There is another way!”

”If you’re so determined to die, wait until I’m not here and come back then!”

”If you insist on dying right now, with all these people watching, there’s no way I can escape the consequences!”

”I’ll definitely be the one to take the blame!”

”So! Either you come down with me now, or I jump down with you right now!”

Gu Yifan said calmly, looking at her.

”This...”

After Gu Yifan’s barrage of persuasion, Su Qinghe began to waver.

Of course!

It wasn’t her resolve to die that was wavering, but her reluctance to drag someone else down with her.

If what Gu Yifan said was true, she wouldn’t be able to rest in peace even if she died.

That’s right.

Despite all the hardships life had thrown at her, her kindness remained untouched.

”I’ll count to three. If you don’t say anything, I’ll take it as a no!”

Seeing Su Qinghe start to hesitate, Gu Yifan’s eyes glinted, and he decided to add more fuel to the fire.

”Three!”

”Two!”

”One!”

Every number Gu Yifan counted was like a hammer blow to her heart.

Su Qinghe hesitated, her heart in turmoil.

’I really do want to die!’

But!

She really couldn’t bring herself to make the innocent Gu Yifan die with her.

However, Gu Yifan didn’t give her time to struggle or hesitate. He spoke again. ”You’re not talking, so I’ll assume you want me to die with you!”

”Fine, in that case, I’ll go first!”

Hearing this, Su Qinghe snapped her head up, just about to speak.

But then she saw Gu Yifan turn his head, give her a small smile, and say, ”Watch closely. Here I go!”

After speaking, he crouched down, pretending he was about to jump.

She hadn’t expected Gu Yifan to be so ruthless. Her eyes widened, and she screamed, ”Don’t...”

”I agree!!”

”We can talk this out, just please don’t jump!”

Hearing Su Qinghe’s anxious voice from behind him, the corners of Gu Yifan’s mouth curled up slightly.

He stopped his jumping motion and was about to turn around and lead Su Qinghe off the roof.

”BANG!!!”

A huge crash echoed out.

The rooftop’s iron door, which had been taking a beating for a long time, was finally knocked open.

Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe were both startled.

They both involuntarily turned to look toward the door.

They saw the half-bald Dean of Discipline, Luo Yubiao, charging in with a group of people.

In that one glance, Gu Yifan’s foot slipped, and his body instantly lost its balance!

”Holy shit!”

He yelped in shock.

And then his whole body was plummeting downwards!

The sudden turn of events left everyone present too stunned to react.

Su Qinghe was the first to snap out of it. She lunged forward, reaching out to grab Gu Yifan.

But she was a step too late!

Her fingertips brushed past his sleeve, and just like that, she watched helplessly as Gu Yifan fell from the tall building.

”No!!”

She screamed, her eyes bloodshot.

At that moment, Han Ning also reached the doorway, just in time to see Gu Yifan fall.

’It’s over!’

She murmured to herself.

Then her body went limp, and she collapsed to her knees.

...

Meanwhile, down below, an uproar erupted. The crowd of onlookers was completely stunned by the scene.

”Holy shit!!”

”He really jumped!!!”

”AHHH!!!”

...

The crowd was in shock.

The firefighters were still inflating the rescue air cushion. Gu Yifan’s sudden fall had caught everyone completely off guard.

It was too late to reposition the air cushion now!

’It’s over!’

The same thought appeared in everyone’s mind at once.

As for Gu Yifan, he was also a bit dumbfounded.

Listening to the whistling wind in his ears, Gu Yifan was truly experiencing the feeling of flight this time.

He looked down. The emergency rescue air cushion below wasn’t fully inflated yet.

Most importantly, the air cushion was some distance away from him.

’At my current angle and speed, I’m probably not going to land on it!’

’Damn it!’

’I’m done for!!’

’So screwed!!!’

’This time I’m really, truly screwed!!!!’

At this moment, Gu Yifan had only one thought in his mind.

’I can’t believe I just got reborn, and now I’m about to get sent back for a do-over!’

’Freaking hell!’

’Is this how I get killed off for the finale?’

’Then what was the damn point of this whole rebirth thing?!’

’No!’

’I can’t just give up like this!’

’I’m not gonna just kick the bucket so easily!’

In a flash, a thousand thoughts raced through Gu Yifan’s mind.

He glanced down again and saw that the air cushion was now halfway ready. He frantically calculated the angles and realized that if he could just change his posture in mid-air, he might be able to land on it.

’System, use that damn blue pill for me!’

And so, he shouted at the system in his mind.

”DING~”

”Given the host’s current life-threatening situation, the system has automatically used the ’100x Attack Speed Blue Pill’. The effect is immediate!”

As the system’s voice faded, Gu Yifan felt a surge of heat rush through his entire body. The wave was so intense he almost passed out from the shock.

At the critical moment, Gu Yifan bit his own tongue, the sharp pain jolting him back to his senses.

He felt his body overflowing with inhuman power.

The power coursing through him made him feel like he could smash directly into the ground and still survive!

He shook his head, quickly dispelling that suicidal thought from his mind.

’Damn it!’

’I’m not about to test that theory with my own life!’

He rapidly adjusted his posture, his body contorting in an inhuman way as he began to somersault in mid-air!

He did his best to shift his trajectory toward the rescue air cushion.

”Holy shit!”

”He can do that?”

And so, before the dumbfounded eyes of the crowd below, Gu Yifan executed a 360-degree mid-air spin and slammed hard into the edge of the rescue air cushion.

”Hiss...”

”Fucking badass!”
