Chapter 996: Chapter 778: Dreams Are Opposite_3

”So, how about adding me?”

A raspy voice rose from behind him.

Under the umbrella held by the students, an elderly man in a wheelchair with a respirator was pushed forward, his chest struggling to rise and fall, producing a murky breathing sound through the device.

Kuroshiwa Jing Shilang, former dean of the Faculty of Science at Kyoto University...

Matsumoto raised his head in astonishment and looked at him.

”Fool, what can you do alone? You can’t even get a budget, useless scrap iron.”

Under the respirator, the old man ruthlessly taunted his old friend, speaking hoarsely as he glanced towards the Gate of Hell: ”I am also a Hybrid from the Tanbo Inner Circle, if you’re going to destroy them, include me too.”

Beside him, an aged Hybrid who had just discarded his police uniform came running, gasping heavily.

In the distance, the sound of engines breaking through blockades continually echoed, one figure after another emerged from the depths of the rain, crossing the border exchanges, coming from all over the world...

Ivory Tower, Empire Academy, Ivy League, Egyptian Royal University...

Male or female, some young, but most were elders.

At this moment, regardless of being Scholars or Sublimators, whether Alchemists of the Stone Pot Society or others, after removing their uniforms and badges, those elders took off their hats, lifted their hair, revealing their Hybrid traits.

Just like this, they stood with Matsumoto, blocking the path of the Purification Legion.

Silently awaiting the destruction to come.

Wordless resistance.

”You know what you are doing, right?”

Shah looked regretfully at the blockers ahead, ”You can only sacrifice yourselves in vain, the Purification Sequence won’t be canceled because of your resistance.”

”At least give them a chance, teacher!”

Matsumoto knelt on the ground, humbly pleading: ”Just one chance... teacher, I beg you... Does anyone deserve to be born in Hell?”

”Matsumoto, among my students, you were the worst in your class...”

Shah sighed with pity, but the raised hand ultimately did not strike down, slowly clenched fingers, and withdrew.

The door to Hell was not closed.

From behind the door, countless hungry eyes coldly stared at the dust of the world.

”You only have fifteen minutes, Matsumoto.”

Shah softly said: ”With my authority, I can only do this much for you. As a cost, regardless of the outcome, your life will no longer belong to you, your remaining days will be spent in the Existence Institute, you will serve the Current Circumstances as a prisoner.”

Fifteen minutes in exchange for a lifetime.

Matsumoto collapsed on the ground, covering his face, yet couldn’t help but cry with joy.

”Thank you, teacher, thank you...”

.

Within the projection of the Summon Dragon Flute, Luo Su pinched his chin, curiously looking over: ”By the way, Isaac, wasn’t Matsumoto under your watch?”

”Yes, but after receiving an email, he just ran off.”

The vice principal nodded apologetically: ”Sorry, sir, this was my oversight.”

”...”

In silence, Luo Su’s expression grew heavy, helplessly scratching his head, ”Isaac, this is quite a blunder, not something you can brush off with a two-day salary deduction... At least it’ll be a week’s deduction!”

Isaac remained expressionless, merely pressing a hand to his chest in salute: ”I appreciate your punishment.”

”That’s not necessary,” Luo Su said, ”However, I am curious, who sent that email?”

Isaac shook his head: ”From the Astronomical Society’s channel, seems like a message from a confidential channel, but I think this matter... might be related to one of our teachers.”

Luo Su raised his eyebrows, understanding.

In the mountains, within the secluded resort hotel, Ai Qing watched the live news of tomorrow on the screen, the lighter spinning silently between her fingers.

This was the last email she sent to Matsumoto in the brief delay before surrendering her phone.

Only the three words of Marshman’s Syndrome.

With Matsumoto’s ability, it’s not hard to figure out what happened, nor to imagine what will result next. Relying on an old scholar to make a sacrifice might seem too harsh, but beyond that, she was powerless.

This was the last chance she could secure for Huai Shi.

Fifteen minutes...

Huai Shi, this is your final time.

As extinction approaches countdown, the final massacre within the Alliance is finally about to reach its end.

In the dilapidated conference room, already drenched in blood, bodies lurking everywhere. Among ten-plus corpses, the old man shouted, wielding his knife, piercing the enemy’s heart.

Scarlet blood gushed out, dyeing that aged face once more.

In the burning headquarters, amidst widespread carnage, he gasped desperately, raising his head, looking at the enemy close at hand.

”Still too young, Chiba.”

Tobio grinned, stretching the bloodstain on his face, and the smile turned sinister: ”Unexpected, huh? In my youth, I was the brawl king of the Tanbo Inner Circle!”

Right in the corridor, the bloodied Chiba struggled forward, fighting all the way to break out here, his subordinates beside him were already mostly dead or injured.

He successfully forced the last enemy into a dead end.

Even if his own body was already covered with wounds.

”Come on, old geezer.”

He wiped the blood off his face, pulled a tachi from the corpses on the ground, and gripped it tightly.
