The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Capítulo 1542: Chapter 1542: Be a Versatile Brick

In the Tao Family, everyone sat on the sofa except for Tao Bin.

Tao Bin stood at the front, dejected, his toes touching the ground.

Liu Mingzhu looked at her youngest son, eyes brimming with tears: “Why didn’t you say earlier, why did you agree to it, our family doesn’t need this…”

Tao Bin interrupted her: “Mom, if everyone thought like you, there would be no one fighting on the front lines, no one defending the country! I don’t want to be a coward, a softie!”

“Watch what you say!” Tao Tiancheng looked at him sternly: “Speak properly to your mother!”

Tao Bin pursed his lips and apologized: “I know it’s wrong to swear, I won’t do it again. I’ll speak properly to you, I hope you’ll listen, I’ve already made my decision, I have my own future, I can’t rely on my parents and brother all my life, I don’t like studying, I like wielding weapons. I want to dedicate my life to the country, to the people, I want to be a great person, someone worthy of respect.”

Tao Tiancheng deeply frowned: “Have you thought about the fact that… if you sacrifice yourself, we’ll be very sad.”

“I’ve thought about it.”

Tao Tiancheng: “Then how can you explain yourself to us, how can you make us agree?”

“I have a brother, and a sister, Mom and Dad might be sad with one less of me, but they won’t be sad forever, life goes on, Blue Star won’t stop spinning because there’s one less Tao Bin.”

“Are you even human saying that! How will we not be sad, of course we will be sad forever, you’re my child, the child I carried for ten months! I can’t let you go, our family doesn’t need a soldier!”

Liu Mingzhu recalled a news story she saw a few days ago, because of a businessman’s lie, a whole team of firefighters sacrificed themselves, during a fire rescue, explosions occurred twice, leaving their corpses disfigured and almost untraceable.

Though we are in a peaceful era now, who knows what tomorrow will bring?

In times of disaster and peril, there always has to be someone carrying the burden ahead, and in this era, who will carry that burden? Undoubtedly, it’s these soldiers.

In the past, because it didn’t happen to her, she just pretended not to know about the hardships these people face, she even thought their family had money, donating and paying taxes every year was enough, but now her own son wants to go, she can’t accept it, she refuses to accept it.

“What kind of soldier are you?” Tao Tiancheng was much calmer than his wife, if it was a logistics role, then there was no need to stop him.

Tao Bin smiled brightly: “I want to fly planes, drive big ships, and steer tanks…”

Tao Tiancheng’s gaze grew increasingly hostile.

Tao Bin awkwardly said: “I told those leaders the same, they said to learn everything, and later focus further on whichever I’m more interested in, if I like them all, I can develop comprehensively and aim for a career as a military officer, comprehensive talents are always lacking.”

“I really want to become a comprehensive talent, where manpower is lacking, I want to be like a brick, ready to be moved anywhere!”

Tao Tiancheng raised his palm wanting to strike, but halted mid-air, and weakly lowered it: “As if you’re capable! Are you rushing to your death? Where do you plan to throw yourself?”

“Pretty much like that—”

Tao Tiancheng couldn’t hold back and slapped Tao Bin on the forehead.

Tao Bin held his forehead: “Dad, what did I do wrong, it hurts!”

“If you don’t take your life seriously, I’d rather end you myself than have you die by someone else’s hand!” As he spoke, Tao Tiancheng grabbed something nearby to hit him, but was stopped by Grandfather Tao, who had remained silent until then.

Tao Tiancheng puzzled: “Dad, don’t stop me!”
