The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1524: Chapter 1524: What Did You Just Pick Up?

It was clear that this staff member had taken it upon themselves to bring someone into the crew. The director exchanged a glance with the deputy director, signaling that this person should be dismissed.

The deputy director had worked with him for a long time; one look was enough to understand.

This leader rarely fired staff, but he wasn’t a pushover, and anyone breaking his boundary or rules were definitely not to be kept.

With a legitimate reason, perhaps they’d be let off lightly, but this was ridiculous—it was just for idol chasing.

As members of society, one cannot delay work for the sake of idol chasing. It seemed like a small mistake, but if Chen Zi weren’t here today, Little Taotie would surely have been frightened. And the purpose for these two coming here to find Little Taotie, what was it? If Little Taotie opened the door, would they be kidnapped? No one knows.

The director scrutinized the pair of brothers, ”Give me an explanation; otherwise, I think I should call the police and let them question you properly.”

The Popular Young Idol instantly panicked: ”Director, I know Little Taotie, we’ve worked together, you can ask Little Taotie. I was just passing by and learned Little Taotie was filming here, so I came to visit. I truly meant no harm.”

”No harm? Then when I told you to leave, you should have left instead of knocking on the door repeatedly,” Chen Zi sneered.

The director’s gaze grew more suspicious: ”What exactly is your purpose?”

The Popular Young Idol sighed: ”Senior, stop hiding, just tell them, you’re a fan of Little Taotie.”

The senior’s eyes flickered, feigning an awkward expression: ”What are you talking about? How could I be a fan of a kid? If word gets out, how would I face anyone?”

This affected demeanor was executed well—it was clear he had some acting skills.

”Stop acting. Though your acting is good, it’s still acting. Don’t forget, I’m the director.”

The director had a sharp talent, able to discern the quality of acting while distinguishing between performance and reality.

The senior furrowed his brows, his voice rising: ”I’ve come all this way and can’t see anyone—how embarrassing! I was just annoyed and knocked on the door to bother them on purpose! Even if the police come, what can they do to me for merely knocking on a door? I haven’t done anything!”

”Senior, don’t anger the director!” The Popular Young Idol admonished his senior, then turned to the director with a groveling demeanor: ”We truly meant no harm; my senior just has a bad temper. Please don’t take it to heart. We’ll leave now, not disturbing your work!”

”Senior, hurry up and leave!” He pulled his senior to walk out, fearing that the police would be called and cause a scene. His senior was already giving up, but he was different. He was still a Popular Idol, and a scandal would mean losing many fans.

The senior suddenly pretended to trip. The Popular Idol whispered, ”Aren’t you going yet!”

”Go, leave immediately!” He seemed to pick something up. The Popular Idol looked at his hand, though it seemed like nothing, but somehow something was there. Looking closely to discern it, only to see his senior quickly shove it into his pocket.

The Popular Idol looked at him suspiciously. The senior pulled him back: ”Let’s go!”

Deputy Director: ”Should we stop them?”

The director didn’t answer but looked at Chen Zi: ”Should we pursue it further?”

Chen Zi shook his head, his eyes indifferent: ”No need to waste time; we still have scenes to film in the afternoon.”

If the police were called, it would definitely delay work, and Little Taotie’s scenes would be postponed, meaning she might not return home early tomorrow.

The director waved his hand, and the staff who initially wanted to block them dispersed, allowing the two to run through the crowd.

Outside the crew, the Popular Idol asked: ”What did you pick up just now?”

The senior put on a mask and sunglasses, a grin hidden at the corner of his mouth, ”Nothing, it’s none of your business.”
