The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1513: Chapter 1513: How Does She Look Like a Farm Girl?

”Action!” The director’s command quieted the entire crew.

The female lead, as the elder sister, came to the bedside and saw Little Taotie lying there, her little face pale and eyes tightly shut.

The camera focused on Little Taotie’s face, and the director looked left and right, feeling something wasn’t quite right.

The assistant director noticed his strange expression and whispered, ”Is there a problem?”

The director frowned deeply, ”From watching Little Taotie on variety shows before, I thought she was perfect for this role. But looking at her now... why does she look a bit fuller?”

Cute and endearing, a white and tender little girl playing a princess or county princess is fine. But for a role as a poor farm girl, the kind that’s missed several meals, it seems a bit off.

The assistant director blinked, carefully asking, ”Which variety show?”

Hopefully, it’s not the program where Little Taotie made her first public appearance.

At that time, Little Taotie hadn’t been adopted yet and was a pitiful child from the mountains, often beaten by her foster mother.

Undeniably, that appearance was perfect for the role of the little sister in the drama.

But a year has passed, and kids change rapidly at this age. She’s no longer that skinny, pitiful child.

The director took out his phone and found a video.

In the video, the little girl looked up with hopeful eyes, ”I want my sister to like me a little bit!”

Manli was momentarily confused, but meeting the little girl’s eyes, she felt entranced.

Those were very bright eyes, with a pitch-black circle at the edge of the pupils, and a deep blue shining from within, like a night sky dotted with stars—magnificent and vast, encompassing everything.

It was hard not to be amazed by such eyes.

”See, this is the program. The Little Taotie in the video is exactly like the character in my mind!”

The assistant director’s mouth twitched slightly, ”Little Taotie isn’t the same underfed child as before.”

The director sighed, ”She’s been taken care of too well; how did she gain so much weight?”

”Shh! Don’t let Little Taotie hear that; little girls don’t like to hear such things!”

The director sighed again, ”If I suggested she lose weight for the role, would I get beaten up?”

”You would.”

”Your answer came too quickly.” The director felt utterly defeated.

The assistant director shrugged, ”Chen Zi is hard to handle. If you make such unreasonable demands, Chen Zi will lash out at you first, then the word might reach Chairman Cheng, and funding could be pulled. Oh, and Little Taotie’s mysterious second brother isn’t easy to deal with either. Plus, Top Gu might refuse any cooperation with you. Calculating all this, it might be worse than getting beaten up.”

”If you don’t speak, no one will think you’re mute!”

”I’m just looking out for you.”

”Cut! Let’s take a pause. Little Taotie needs a touch-up.” The director called out to the crew, ”Call Little Taotie’s Makeup Artist over here.”

Little Taotie opened her eyes in confusion.

The elder sister of the female lead touched her face, ”The director is asking the makeup artist to touch up your makeup.”

Little Taotie looked even more bewildered.

The Makeup Artist, hearing the director’s instructions, said helplessly, ”I don’t dare to put on too much makeup; it’s not good for her skin.”

The director was frustrated, ”She’s too fair-skinned. At a glance, she looks like a rich girl. How can she play a farm girl?”

The Makeup Artist was taken aback, then burst out laughing.

The director’s face darkened further, ”What’s so funny?”

The Makeup Artist held back her laughter and said, ”Which of the Four Golden Flowers looks like a farm girl? Director, you’re being too demanding of Little Taotie.”

The director frowned, looking at the female lead, finding that even with her face darkened, she was still very pretty and had an extraordinary aura. But she was a transmigrated woman, so she barely fit the character.

He turned to look at the other two Golden Flowers waiting for filming, and nearly fainted with anger.

The second sister had fair skin, false eyelashes, blush, and lipstick—everything. What kind of impoverished farm girl could afford to buy rouge and put on makeup?

The third sister was even more exaggerated. To make her hairstyle look good, she had air bangs, which was one thing, but she was also wearing a small pearl hairpiece, with earrings to boot!

”No, everything needs to be changed! Everything has to be changed!”

The director erupted, and all the Four Golden Flowers were taken by the Makeup Artist to have their looks altered.

The assistant director muttered, ”It’s just a film work; there’s no need to look like an actual farm girl, plain and unadorned. If it’s too ugly, the audience won’t like it either.”
