The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1398: Chapter 1398: Next Time, I’ll Be a Little Customer

In the following days, business at Tangshi Xuan remained stable, and Little Taotie consistently held the second place.

Little Taotie felt a little down; the title of being a perennial second couldn’t seem to be shaken off. In school, she couldn’t outscore Hua Jinyan in exams, and in the show, she couldn’t surpass Third Brother, always having to remain the perennial second.

The employees felt apprehensive.

Although the business in the store was quite good, everyone knew in their hearts that the customers were just from the demolition team, which couldn’t be counted as genuine swarms of customers.

The demolition team came here to eat because, one, the discounts made it cheap, and two, this area was almost completely demolished. Apart from convenience stores, there were few dining options left, so choices were limited.

Once the demolition team leaves, the store would have no business again.

According to the real boss, this shop would be the last one to be demolished. If, before that, the business appeared good, they would consider opening a shop at another location. But the current situation couldn’t be considered as good business because these customers weren’t true customers, and the boss had gone off to open a candy factory, clearly not prioritizing the shop’s business matters.

Employee A: ”If the shop closes, can we work at the boss’s candy factory?”

Employee B: ”We probably could, right? The boss is pretty easygoing.”

Employee C: ”I don’t want to work in a factory. I don’t want to be a factory girl!”

Employee D: ”How much time is left? Little Taotie’s show is about to end, right?”

Chubby waiter: ”Today is the fifth day. After today, Zaizai won’t come to the shop tomorrow or the day after. There will be filming crew staff here, and the weekend’s performance is the final performance result, which will determine the overall winner.”

Employee A: ”Is there a prize for the big winner?”

The chubby waiter shrugged: ”I don’t know about that. The show keeps it mysterious, and the gift will be awarded at the end. They won’t reveal it beforehand.”

When the employees realized today was the last day and that Little Taotie wouldn’t be coming tomorrow, they quietly gathered to plan a farewell party.

In the evening, after the last customer left, Little Taotie yawned, and suddenly the lights went dim. A cart was pushed in, and on it were lit candles, their glow revealing the shape of a cake.

Little Taotie: ”Whose birthday is it today?”

The chubby waiter laughed: ”The cake is for you. It was made personally by the Head Chef, and he rarely makes desserts.”

”Why give me a cake? It’s not my birthday today.” Little Taotie was puzzled.

The lights came back on, and the table was laden with a feast. The employees smiled at her.

Chubby waiter: ”Today is the fifth day.”

Little Taotie finally remembered that the show allotted five days, meaning she couldn’t come to the shop after today.

Little Taotie looked at everyone with reluctance. Even though they had only been together for five days, she felt the time here was very happy. Aside from the occasional small unpleasant incidents, most of the time was joyous.

She enjoyed looking at food magazines with the Head Chef and discussing new dishes together.

She enjoyed taking photos with the chubby brother, then watching him awkwardly use phone apps to edit photos, trying to slim himself down a bit.

She enjoyed serving the uncles and brothers from the demolition team and felt particularly accomplished watching them eat heartily.

She enjoyed watching Chef Xu get scolded by teammates for being a noob at games but still kept fighting bravely.

She enjoyed seeing the cashier aunt’s pained expression every time she heard of an additional discount while collecting payment.

”I’ll come to visit you all, and I believe Tangshi Xuan will keep going strong!”

”The next time I come, I won’t be the little boss, but a little customer!”

”Head Chef, give me a little more of my dish!”

Upon hearing this, the Head Chef laughed: ”No problem, I’ll serve it in a big bowl, filled to the brim!”
