The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1361: Chapter 1361: Why Do People Die

After leaving the hospital, Little Taotie’s mood remained low, her head drooping, eyes cast down, her little mouth tightly clenched.

Hua Jinyan knew she was upset about Helen, but matters of life and death are not something anyone can change.

Sometimes, even when feeling powerless, it is of no avail.

At the Special Department, Little Taotie found Shen Cang and asked a philosophical question: ”Why do people die?”

Whether from illness, accidental death, or peacefully of old age, death is something from which humans cannot escape.

Little Taotie realized that one day, she would also die.

To her, as a child, death seemed to be a distant matter, but after meeting Helen’s boyfriend, Little Taotie understood that it is not so distant. Even if very young now, accidents or illness could descend unexpectedly at any time.

Shen Cang didn’t expect Little Taotie to ask such a question.

This question, though apparently simple, is actually not easy.

It depends on the angle from which one understands it.

If viewed from the perspective of Mysticism, there are already countless explanations; when synthesized, they are not difficult to understand, simply about the cycle of heavenly paths and human reincarnation, everything following a track, even the trajectories of the nine planets follow the sun, everything cycles, everything has origins.

But to analyze it scientifically is not so easy; whether the body dies first or the soul and brainwaves cease, countless experiments yield different results, complex and unpredictable, potentially even involving Schrodinger’s law, ultimately lacking a clear explanation.

Some say after death, the soul is merely a brief brainwave, and when the brainwaves vanish, it is complete death. Humans die without reincarnation, merely an end to a segment of brainwaves.

Then comes the puzzle: brainwaves originate in the soul and perish when the body can no longer generate them. Is the human body merely a large computer?

Often, discussions end up turning science into an unresolved mystery.

Shen Cang chose to respond to Little Taotie with a mystical explanation due to her uniqueness, and because she’s already part of the Mysterious Sect, such answers suit her better.

”A person’s death is not the ultimate endpoint, but rather a segment of reincarnation, and a person’s birth is not necessarily the true starting point of reincarnation; perhaps there have been many reincarnations already, or maybe it is just a trial.”

”Trial by ordeal?” Little Taotie tilted her head, somewhat puzzled.

”Trial by ordeal comes in many forms. In truth, this cycle of yours might be one such ordeal, a journey in search of an incomplete soul. For you, this is neither the first life nor necessarily the last. It depends on whether you can ultimately find the complete soul and achieve the final purpose.” Shen Cang gently touched Little Taotie’s head, ”So death is not frightening, but the unknown death is what induces fear.”

Little Taotie nodded with partial understanding and mentioned Helen’s situation.

Shen Cang recalled Little Taotie saying that on the island, when the transparent barrier surrounded Zhuge Xunming, Helen could effortlessly enter the barrier and touch Zhuge Xunming.

Thus, this Helen is definitely not as she appears.

A natural heart condition?

Perhaps she is severely injured, using her soul to undertake a trial, arranging for herself a brief ordeal, and setting a fate of poor health to expedite the soul’s return sooner.

This is often merely utilizing a trial to accelerate healing; if there is insight in one’s lifetime, it is good, if not, it’s not regrettable.
