The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1392: Chapter 1392: Boss, You’ve Got It All Wrong

People who feel guilty always love to argue and subconsciously talk a lot.

Little Taotie squinted and noticed this flaw.

Recalling the difficulties in solving cases in detective novels, Little Taotie thought that solving cases wasn’t really that hard. Understanding some things only took a few seconds; the hard part was gathering evidence to prove one’s speculations.

Little Taotie pointed to the maggot and asked, ”Chef Wu, can you tell me what kind of bug this is?”

Chef Wu saw that she wasn’t angry but instead asked seriously, thinking she genuinely didn’t know.

Chef Wu bluffed, ”This is a kind of rice bug, mostly found in rice boxes, flour. It might have crawled out of the flour when mixing the fried batter.”

Little Taotie lowered her eyelids slightly, ”Oh? Is that so?”

Little Taotie’s voice was muffled, sounding somewhat off, and Chef Wu suddenly realized.

Little Taotie was already seven years old. She hadn’t grown up as a pampered young lady from a wealthy family and had lived in the mountains for a period. What kind of bug had children in the mountains not seen, and what bug did they not recognize?

Perhaps she had recognized it as a maggot long ago and was deliberately asking to see if he would lie.

Realizing this possibility, Chef Wu only felt bitterness in his mouth.

He could have told the truth and then claimed ignorance, as there was no evidence. Who would know if he had put the maggot in himself?

But deceiving a child now essentially confessed without being beaten.

Chef Wu tried to salvage the situation, coughed dryly, ”Actually, it has another name, it’s called a maggot, which stays on stale things specifically.”

If Chef Wu had put a cockroach today, maybe he could have discussed it privately with the customer, and everything would have ended smoothly, without much trouble.

But today Chef Wu placed a maggot, which meant the restaurant’s food wasn’t fresh, as maggots feed on rot appeared.

Once the kitchen neglects hygiene, cockroaches may appear, but it’s hard for maggots to show up. The food in the kitchen has to rot and stink and be left out of the fridge to have a chance of maggots appearing.

Little Taotie rubbed her little hand on the edge of the plate, asking absentmindedly, ”If this dish were served on the table, what would be the result?”

Chef Wu: ”It wasn’t served, was it? Nothing will happen, there won’t be a bad result! Stop leaving this dish here, hurry up and throw it away!”

He pretended to go up to clean the plate.

But was actually destroying evidence.

Little Taotie wouldn’t let him succeed. The ongoing action of rubbing the edge of the plate instantly turned into picking up the plate and dodging, hiding the whole dish behind her.

”Little boss, why are you keeping the maggot, it’s filthy and full of bacteria, let me throw it away for you!”

”You’re feeling guilty!” Little Taotie shouted.

”Little boss, do you have some misunderstanding about me?”

Chef Wu withdrew his hand from trying to snatch the plate, showing a sincere face, ”I’m doing this for the little boss’s sake. I can roughly guess, the little boss might have some suspicion about me, thinking I put the maggot there, but actually, I’m really afraid of bugs. Not to mention putting bugs, I wouldn’t even step on an ant if I saw one on the road.”

”And I have no motive either. I’ve been a senior employee at the store, treating it as my second home for a long time. What’s strange about having one or two little bugs at home? I have no reason to catch a maggot and put it on a plate!”

Little Taotie only felt the buzzing sound, the other person’s mouth opened and closed, seemingly articulate, but every word that came out was a lie!
