The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 837: Chapter 837: Xiao Lingzhi Receives a Call

Cheng Guodong asked gravely, ”How’s my sister? Is she feeling really bad?”

”Not really. At first, she was full of confidence, but now she’s a bit deflated, that’s all.”

Cheng Guodong exhaled, ”That’s good to hear.”

Chen Zi glanced at the video showing the screenwriter, the male lead, and the female lead, and laughed, ”It’s quite entertaining. The director intended to make things difficult for Little Taotie but ended up being sabotaged by his own three teammates.”

Cheng Guodong said, ”Indeed, the male lead is an interesting guy. I might arrange a few deals for him with some resources.”

Chen Zi chuckled, ”The screenwriter seems pretty interesting too.”

...

The audition ended, and the screenwriter put down her pen, exhaling, ”Done with the writing.”

She had completed a character design tailor-made for Little Taotie.

The director spoke irritably, ”You didn’t even watch the performances of the actors after that!”

The screenwriter glanced at him, ”Was there a need to watch?”

The director retorted irritably, ”Are you dumb? The role of Little Fox still needs someone to play it!”

The screenwriter was taken aback, staring dazedly at the new character design she had written, bewildered, ”Didn’t you say no Qingqiu, no fox?”

”Your later suggestion, I thought it was good.” The director said, flipping through the materials, ”This little girl isn’t bad, except her skin is too dark.”

The screenwriter leaned over to look; the data sheet noted: Lin Zhi.

”It’s Xiao Lingzhi? She’s a friend of Little Taotie.”

Hearing this, the director paused his hand from flipping, ”Do you think she can whiten up within a month?”

The screenwriter rolled her eyes dramatically, ”Just have the Makeup Artist apply more white, done.”

”Hmm, that makes sense.” The director pulled out the data sheet, ”Then let it be her.”

The screenwriter shook her head, ”Initially, Little Fox was a positive character, and now the script’s altered, changing Little Fox from a protagonist to an antagonist. Do you think anyone would want to play that?”

The director frowned, ”I’ll ask around.”

...

Xiao Lingzhi sipped her milk tea, displaying a sweet smile, blinking her eyes, bouncing around.

”Good! Very good!”

”Your cheeks are puffed while drinking, then raise your thumb!”

”Yes, yes, just like that!”

”Good!”

”Great!”

After the shoot, Xiao Lingzhi patted her stomach and sighed, ”I wish I were like Little Taotie, then I could drink loads and loads of milk tea!”

Her agent’s mouth twitched, ”I’m afraid the Lin family would go broke because of you.”

Suddenly, her agent’s phone rang.

The agent glanced at the caller ID, surprised, ”Why is the director calling me? You said earlier that the director asked you to wait for a call?”

Xiao Lingzhi was surprised, ”He called me? To play the fox? Did I beat Little Taotie? Impossible, right?”

The agent answered the call, and the director’s voice came through, ”For the role of Little Fox, I find Lin Zhi very suitable. What is your side’s intention?”

The agent was even more surprised.

Little Taotie’s acting is excellent, and there’s an industry rumor that Little Taotie is like a walking Little God of Wealth. Why would the director choose Xiao Lingzhi over Little Taotie?

There must be some issue here.

Maybe, Little Taotie refused?

But why refuse?

If Little Taotie refused, could Xiao Lingzhi still go for the shoot?

The agent responded with a smile, ”Could we take a look at the script?”

Hearing this, the director silently cursed.

Such a good opportunity, others would be eager to accept it.

Once agreed, upon seeing the script, if there’s something off, they’d have no choice but to grumble and swallow it down.

The director sighed, muffled, ”Alright, I’ll have the screenwriter send it over.”

The agent hung up, nodded at Xiao Lingzhi’s curious eyes, ”They want you to play Little Fox.”

Xiao Lingzhi stared in disbelief, ”What about Little Taotie then?”

”Not sure,” the agent shrugged.

Xiao Lingzhi pulled out her phone and immediately dialed.

Little Taotie was eating strawberry cake, happily answering the call, ”Hey, Xiao Lingzhi, is that you?”

Xiao Lingzhi spoke hurriedly, ”Did you get a call from the director?”
