The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 814: Chapter 814: Playing a Little Dark Horse

Little Taotie reluctantly went to the bathroom once, washed his little hands, and ran out happily, asking, ”How can I win an award?”

”You entered everyone’s view at the end of last year, joining the entertainment industry, but since it was already the end of the year, it wasn’t appropriate to award you then. Your performance in the entertainment industry actually counts as a full year from the beginning of this year to the end. We need to make a summary before we can grade you. With your current development, as long as you maintain it and your screen time doesn’t decrease, you should be able to get a newcomer award at the end of the year.”

”Really?” Little Taotie’s eyes sparkled as he jumped up and down on the spot: ”What reward can I get?”

”A trophy, I guess.”

”Can’t eat that...” Little Taotie’s eyes dimmed, showing a lack of interest.

”You might not necessarily get it,” Chen Zi sighed. ”Maybe a dark horse will come out at the end of the year. Even though everyone’s performance in the first half of the year has been mediocre and you’re one of the more outstanding ones, the end of the year always brings many surprises.”

”A dark horse?”

”It’s someone who suddenly emerges, very surprisingly. They look ordinary on the surface but explode with strong potential unexpectedly.”

Little Taotie’s head drooped. He liked Little Beast Bai Bai, liked white horses, and didn’t want a dark horse to take the first prize!

”Don’t be discouraged. Every year a dark horse emerges, but they don’t always win. Sometimes, those who suddenly emerge aren’t the best. It’s not so easy to surpass the popularity accumulated in the first half of the year.”

”What should I do then?”

”Maintain the current status. Judging by the prospect of the Time-Space Monster Management Bureau, the viewership will remain high this year, but you can’t rely on it alone. After all, it’s a variety show, which isn’t highly acclaimed. You still need more outstanding film and television works to bolster yourself.”

Chen Zi remembered the director mentioning a film. The director said Little Taotie was very resistant and didn’t like Little Fox, unwilling to act. Chairman Cheng, the manager, had the attitude that if Little Taotie didn’t want to act, then he didn’t have to. But the director said it was a great opportunity, maybe even worth contending for an award.

Chen Zi also felt that if Little Taotie didn’t like it, there was no need to act.

But because of the director’s comment about it being a chance for an award, he hesitated.

This year, even if Little Taotie’s standards don’t slip, what if other kids act in it and become the dark horse?

Though there’s protection from the leader, no one can steal Little Taotie’s award. However, the leader’s words were clear: if it doesn’t belong to Little Taotie, he won’t seize it. Everything depends on Little Taotie’s own strength.

Chen Zi thought for a moment, crouched down, and asked Little Taotie, ”You really don’t want to play the role recommended by the director?”

Little Taotie tilted his head, looking a bit bewildered.

”It’s the small role of Little Fox.”

Little Taotie remembered and shook his head decisively, ”I don’t like foxes, don’t want to act!”

Seeing the unabashed dislike in Little Taotie’s eyes, Chen Zi understood. The little girl really didn’t like foxes.

But then again, he didn’t like foxes either!

After all, he was always scolded as a fox behind his back when he was a child, accused of being as cunning as a fox!

Chen Zi sighed, ”This is a great opportunity. If someone else acts, they might become the dark horse.”

Little Taotie remained resolute, ”Anyway, I won’t act.”

”What if it weren’t a fox?”

”Not a fox?” Little Taotie tilted his head, ”Okay.”

Chen Zi mischievously smiled, ”Let me suggest changing it to a black horse, how about playing a little black horse?”

Little Taotie’s eyes widened.

Seeing her startled, Chen Zi laughed heartily and pinched her little chubby cheeks, ”Just teasing you!”
