The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 821: Chapter 821: Too Hard to Get Ahead

”No suspense at all, boring.” The director shrugged disappointedly, ”Yes, he’s popular now, a wasted person turned into a big star by Chen Zi.”

”Who?” Yang Lusi lowered her voice, ”Still in the entertainment circle now?”

The director nodded, ”Shang Yang.”

”The lyricist and composer of ’Buried’?” Yang Lusi was surprised.

The director nodded, ”Yes.”

Yang Lusi expressed regret, ”It’s a pity ’Buried’ wasn’t sung by him personally.”

The screenwriter frowned, ”I heard his voice got damaged. He wrote and composed ’Undercurrent,’ and sang it himself. It sounded hoarse and full of vicissitudes because it was sung after a serious throat injury, and he could never recover the way he was.”

The director sneered.

The two women looked over amazed.

”Do you really think his voice was damaged?” The director shook his head, then nodded again, ”Yes, it was indeed damaged, but it was ruined by themselves.”

”Ruined... his own voice?” Yang Lusi couldn’t believe it.

A singer ruining his own voice? Why?

Seemingly seeing the question in Yang Lusi’s eyes, the director said solemnly, ”Already fallen into the mire, waiting for him, besides being swallowed by the swamp and never getting up again, there is another path.”

”Another path?” Yang Lusi and the screenwriter asked simultaneously in confusion.

The screenwriter nodded, ”Bounce back from the bottom, rise from the dead.”

Yang Lusi sighed, ”It’s like a power struggle drama in the entertainment circle.”

The director gave her a deep look, ”You’re very lucky, you became popular shortly after debuting. You don’t know how bitter it is for those people stuck in the mire. Besides universities that offer acting courses in first-tier cities, now there are more professional schools teaching acting popping up. Think about it, how many people graduate every year?”

Yang Lusi pursed her lips, remaining silent.

The director sighed, ”One show has only one male protagonist and one female protagonist, only a few supporting roles can stand out. Many graduates now can’t even land roles.”

”They can start as extras, start from the grassroots,” the screenwriter suggested.

The director sneered again, ”You, you think it’s too simple. Nowadays, extras have their own circles, most are cliques, is it that simple to mix in? Those leading the teams are not easy to deal with. And... after studying for so many years in university, majoring in this field, are they truly willing to be extras and be on equal footing with those who’ve never studied? It’s too difficult, few can do it. Even if willing, when can they rise to the top? From extras to leads, how long does it take? A year? Two years? Three years? Or... ten years?”

Yang Lusi and the screenwriter exchanged a glance and both remained silent.

Yang Lusi started her career by shooting a hit drama just after graduating, though she was a supporting actress, she soon grasped leading roles afterwards.

She’s been working hard, very dedicated to her acting.

But compared to those who’ve never managed to stand out, she felt quite inadequate.

Extras actually suffer more than she does, because she can’t film dangerous scenes. If she gets injured, the whole crew would be implicated, delaying the shoot.

Once the shooting is delayed, it would cost a lot of money.

Thus, a stunt double is needed to replace her in dangerous scenes.

Often leaving them battered and bruised.

These are fresh graduates, or juniors out looking for work opportunities.

Also young girls, skinny and weak.

In this industry, trying to stand out is extremely difficult.
