The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 747: Chapter 747: The Director is Shining

Upon hearing this, the girl was shocked and covered her mouth, unable to speak for a long time.

The information contained in Little Taotie’s words was overwhelming.

The implication of his words was that the youths had planned everything with the sole purpose of deceiving the police, prosecutors, and judges, eventually resulting in their acquittal!

After committing the murder, within the short span in a restroom, he had meticulously planned everything and had persuaded the prime suspect to cooperate, achieving the perfect outcome of acquittal for them both.

Looking at it this way, it was indeed the perfect crime!

It was extremely alarming!

After a while, the girl squeezed out a sentence, ”Is he a devil?”

Ji Guang said gravely, ”Not only did he deceive everyone and achieved the perfect crime, but he also prepared a backup plan. If the plan failed, he was still a minor.”

”How old is he?” asked the middle-aged male artist.

Answering him this time was the director, who had just entered, ”He’s almost 14 years old.”

The girl frowned, ”Does it make any difference?”

The director gave her a look as if she was an idiot. ”Child actors debut without education, as expected.”

The girl angrily responded, ”I perform very well in school!”

Little Taotie perked up his ears, understanding, and stared at the director wide-eyed.

Feeling guilty under her stare, the director touched his nose and added, ”Apart from my Zaizai, my Zaizai is smart. All the adults couldn’t see through what my Zaizai figured out entirely right!”

Little Taotie looked away, his mouth curling up slightly, showing a shallow dimple.

The director turned to the girl, ”Let me enlighten you, you legal ignoramus.”

”Persons who have reached the age of sixteen who commit a crime shall bear criminal responsibility.”

”Persons who have reached the age of fourteen but not yet sixteen, who commit crimes such as intentional homicide, causing serious injury or death through intentional harm, rape, robbery, trafficking in drugs, arson, explosion, or throwing hazardous substances, shall bear criminal responsibility.”

”Persons who have reached the age of fourteen but not eighteen, who commit a crime, shall be given a lighter or mitigated punishment. If it is ruled that no criminal punishment be imposed due to the person being under sixteen years old, their parents or guardian shall be ordered to discipline them strictly. In necessary cases, the government may take them into custody for reformation.”

”This law embodies the legislative spirit that individuals under the age of 14 are in a period where they absolutely cannot be held criminally responsible.”

Upon hearing this, the girl gasped in calm, ”The devil, he must be the devil!”

It was absolutely terrifying to consider. This youth had calculated everything perfectly and even thought of a backup plan. Even if the prime suspect turned against him, he was still a minor under the age of 14 and would not bear criminal responsibility.

The middle-aged artist felt uneasy, ”If that’s the case, then couldn’t all juveniles under 14 exploit legal loopholes to commit crimes?”

A member of the Rock Band remarked, ”Better to offend a gentleman than a villain, the ancients truly did not deceive me. Offending a child under 14, and being killed, would be dying in vain.”

The director sighed, ”Because those under the age of 14 are still young and ignorant, with both their physical and mental development immature. Generally, they lack a clear understanding of the nature and consequences of their actions and have weak control over their behavior. If they commit socially harmful acts, it is often due to confusion between right and wrong. However, it does not mean they can act unlawfully without facing any consequences or punishment; according to the law on administrative penalties for public security, their guardian can be ordered to strictly discipline them, or they can be sent to a juvenile detention center for management and assistance.”

”No wonder...” a member of the Rock Band shook his head, ”There are so many bullies in schools; those kids must know they can do anything without consequences, otherwise they wouldn’t be so bold in bullying their peers.”

The director looked at everyone and suddenly became serious, ”This is one of the reasons why I insist on making this show. I want everyone to see more truths. I can’t change society, nor do I have the power to change the law, but that doesn’t mean others can’t.”

In everyone’s eyes, the director seemed to be glowing at that moment.

”Today’s 14-year-olds are completely different from those of the era when the law was made. Back then, 14-year-olds were naive and the people of that era were mostly simple and honest. But now, with societal development, not to mention those nearing 14, even those as young as 10 shouldn’t be viewed simply. They can learn a lot through channels like smartphones and TV, and some are already quite mature.”

”The show is directed at society, and will definitely generate many voices. Maybe it can change something.”

”Even if it can’t now, what about in the future? After a gradual influence, as the young grow up and the obstinate old pass away, and new replaces old, there will always be someone capable of making changes.”

Ji Guang hesitated for a moment before speaking, ”Aren’t you afraid the show might be banned? Too sensitive topics are easily silenced. When there are too many voices, too mixed, the show might not be able to continue.”
