The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 713: Chapter 713: The Delicacies in the Lunch Box

Joyful footsteps approached, and Chef Yu and Li Haowei looked up to see Little Taotie trotting over.

The little one was dressed in a trench coat, wearing a round top hat, holding a pipe and a cane.

Chef Yu uncertainly asked his girlfriend, ”That look seems very familiar, who is it again?”

Li Haowei licked her lips, ”I think it looks like... Sherlock Holmes.”

Chef Yu clapped his hands, ”Right, it’s Sherlock Holmes!”

Little Taotie, hearing their conversation, stopped in front of them, twirled around, lifted her chin, and held her pipe, ”If you can recognize me, everyone else surely can!”

Seeing the backpack and travel case she was carrying, Li Haowei asked, ”Are you off to film a show?”

Little Taotie nodded her little head, ”If you had played for a while longer, I would have already left.”

”Early is good, but timely is better! This is for you to snack on during your trip!” Chef Yu handed over a food box.

Li Haowei passed a large bag of snacks, ”We made these ourselves, hope you don’t mind.”

Little Taotie had experienced their culinary skills before, why would she mind!

Little Taotie cheerfully accepted the food gifts from them and said, ”I heard from your brother that you are opening a restaurant?”

Chef Yu and Li Haowei looked at each other and smiled sweetly.

Chef Yu nodded, ”We’ve already chosen a spot, but the renovation might take some time.”

”When you open, make sure to let me know. I’ll come to support!” Little Taotie’s eyes sparkled with anticipation.

Big Brother once said, ”Hua Country is a nation of etiquette; it’s all about reciprocating invitations and gifts.”

Having received their delicious treats, when their restaurant opens, she also needed to prepare a gift in return, to celebrate their opening.

”Alright, once we open, we’ll definitely notify you!” Chef Yu was overjoyed, ”I’ll cook for you myself!”

Little Taotie extended her pinky finger, ”Pinky promise, no lying!”

”Okay, pinky promise!” Li Haowei, getting in ahead of her boyfriend, pinky-swore with Little Taotie, feeling bubbles of happiness inside her heart, for she had already joined the fan group secretly, becoming Zaizai’s sister-fan!

One hand pinky-swearing and one hand taking photos, she smiled slyly.

Once back home, she would boast about it in the group, hehehe~

...

Little Taotie sat in the nanny van, opening the food box.

This was a very vintage food box, much like those seen in ancient costume dramas, made of wood with engraved designs, partitioned into sections.

Upon lifting the top cover, the first layer contained fried, fresh, fragrant, and crispy little meats.

Little meats had one flavor when hot and another when cold. No matter how you ate them, they were fragrantly enticing.

Little Taotie set down her toy pipe, put on disposable gloves, and started eating the little crispy meats, treating them like a casual snack.

The filming location was far, and by the time she finished the little meats, she had still not arrived, so she opened the second layer.

The second layer contained an Eight-Treasure Duck!

During a competition, Chef Yu had made this dish before. At that time, Little Taotie could only have a piece to taste, which wasn’t enough at all.

Now, an entire Eight-Treasure Duck was all hers!

Little Taotie happily squinted her eyes, joyously gnawing on the duck.

Having finished the Eight-Treasure Duck, and still not having reached her destination, she opened the last layer of the food box.

The last layer was unexpectedly a bowl of fried rice with eggs!

The fried rice had cooled down.

Ordinary fried rice, once cold, would become hard and dry or turn greasy, affecting its texture and developing an eggy odor.

But this bowl of fried rice, even though it had cooled, still smelled very fragrant.

This was Chef Yu’s latest research on making fried rice. Compared to his skills during ”Who is the Master Chef” show, his culinary art had improved greatly; in the realm of fried rice, he had reached the pinnacle.

He also discovered that once fried rice cooled, it would start having various issues; reheating made it taste even worse. Wanting to maintain the original deliciousness of the fried rice or make it taste even better after cooling required a lot of effort.

In a country known for its pleasant way of life, sushi is made cold and tastes better this way.

Chef Yu thoroughly studied sushi, and then applied those techniques to making fried rice. After letting it cool and tasting it dozens of times, he finally created this bowl of fried rice that remained delicious even after cooling.

The fried rice was fresh, chewy, and sweet as you chewed, with no trace of egg odor whatsoever. Little Taotie ate heartily, finding it more and more delicious with each bite.

After finishing all the delicacies in the food box, Little Taotie opened the big snack gift bag given to her by Li Haowei.
