The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 743: Chapter 743: It’s Even Harder After the Performance

The police remained silent and before leaving, he looked deeply at the young man.

The young man met his gaze openly, not at all like someone who would lie.

The police returned with new doubts, replayed the surveillance footage again, and reconsidered the statements.

The police asked, ”Have you watched all the surveillance footage from the restaurant on the day of the murder?”

The junior police officer nodded, ”I’ve watched it three times.”

The police frowned and asked, ”Didn’t you find any suspicious points?”

The junior police officer shook his head, ”Everything seemed normal.”

The police inquired, ”Who came out of the restroom first?”

The junior police officer recalled, ”The first suspect came out of the restroom first, followed by the young man who rushed out in a panic.”

”No one entered in between?”

”Not that I remember...”

”What do you mean by not that you remember?”

”The camera has a bit of a distance to the restroom, and you can only vaguely see someone rushing out. A pillar obstructs the view, and it’s possible for someone to enter from behind the flowerbed seats.”

”So, you’re saying that the restroom entrance is a blind spot for the camera?”

The junior police officer nodded, ”We can confirm that the first suspect came out first, followed closely by the young man. But what happened after that until we arrived is unclear.”

The police reviewed the statements.

According to the young man, he hid in the restroom stall until the murderer had escaped far from the murder scene before calling the police.

According to the first suspect, he witnessed the young man commit the murder and fled the restroom immediately upon being spotted by the young man. After running a considerable distance and seeing that the young man didn’t chase him, he then called the police.

However, according to the police records, both reported the crime almost simultaneously, with only about thirty seconds difference.

The restaurant’s camera captured both of them running out of the restroom. Once at a safe distance, they each seemed relieved and took out their mobile phones to call the police.

According to the young man, his account matches the surveillance footage perfectly. He did indeed leave after the murderer and hadn’t lied.

According to the first suspect, it is indeed true that he fled first and he hadn’t lied either.

The fact that both left the restroom, due to the blind spot at the restroom, suggests the possibility of a third suspect.

According to the young man, the victim was killed at the urinal and left between the urinal and the toilet. He claimed he did not drag the corpse to the stall as there should be no blood in the stall.

According to the surveillance footage, the first suspect left the crime scene first, leaving behind the young man. If the young man hadn’t lied, it means after he left the restroom, a third suspect must have dragged the corpse into the toilet stall and then out again.

The whole case became even more complicated and elusive.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed.

When they came back on, the junior police officer and the desk were gone, and the director took off his police hat, revealing his role as a director, not a character, and broke character.

The director approached everyone and asked, ”Do you have any clues now?”

The girl rolled her eyes at him, ”If you hadn’t acted out this part, we’d just need to guess who was lying among the two. Now that you’ve acted it out, the case is more complex! And harder!”

The director grinned, ”Without difficulty, there is no challenge, and it wouldn’t be interesting for the viewers, right?”

The girl gave him another big eye roll, ”Hmph!”

Ji Guang asked, ”Because there’s a possibility of a third suspect, does the case eventually end with insufficient evidence and both are acquitted?”
