Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1223: Progress Of Two Decades [Super Gift Bonus Chapter]

With the existence of three overpowered individuals with ridiculous abilities named Asher Wargrave, Acker Holloway, and Saitama Silverleaf, the Velkarin Empire Soldiers began to thin out, their numbers dwindling at an astronomical rate and with staggering speed.

Tens. Hundreds. Thousands. Tens of thousands.

The trio were like wolves dropped into a chicken pen, like final bosses mistakenly dropped in a beginner zone.

They showed no mercy, exercised no restraint, and gave no thought to keeping anyone alive. They didn’t care about age differences, power gaps, or gender distinctions. All that mattered were two things: were you from the Velkarin Empire, and were you still alive?

If the answers to these two questions were yes, then you were about to breathe your last.

Various Radiant Voidstar Life Rankers frowned, unable to believe what they were sensing. The battle was barely two hours old, yet their soldiers were already being erased at an alarming rate. They couldn’t help but curse Zuri’s incompetence. They had left the Tenth Sun’s head in her hands, and here the Tenth Sun was, demonstrating the fruits of his gravity training on their soldiers.

How could they accept this? They had to act.

But how could they act when various Radiant Voidstar Life Rankers from the Algorith Frontier were holding them back?

After thinking for a moment, several Radiant Voidstar Life Rankers launched long-range attacks at various intervals whenever they found an opportunity. Their attacks streaked across the battlefield, targeting Saitama, Acker, and Asher.

Even if they couldn’t personally go after the Tenth Sun, that didn’t mean they couldn’t kill him from afar.

The Algorith Frontier’s Radiant Voidstar Life Rankers immediately reacted, intercepting and destroying the incoming attacks before they could reach Asher and his overpowered companions.

Even if these Radiant Voidstar Life Rankers hadn’t stopped the attacks heading toward Asher, Lyra would have intervened without a shred of hesitation. And as for leaving Asher’s side to save Saitama and Acker, all she could say was that they should find their own Maids.

The Voidstar Life Rankers from the Frontier smirked at the Black Radiant Voidstars before immediately resuming their attacks, nothing but pure grins adorning their faces.

The Frontier’s victory was already set in stone. All they had to do was kill their respective opponents, and that was all.

In another direction, Vanessa Thorne could be seen staring down at the Third Regent. The man lay on the ground with his eyes wide open, staring unblinkingly into the sky, a massive hole in his chest.

Vanessa panted heavily, a smirk on her face, her chest rising and falling as sweat covered her body. She had finally defeated this bastard. The injuries covering her body had been healed by her vines, but alas, she couldn’t rejuvenate her own stamina.

Her Thorn Vine ability coiled around the dead Third Regent as she crushed him completely into mashed meat and fine bone dust. Even after killing the man, she wasn’t taking any chances.

”Aren’t you being a bit too ruthless, Vanessa? Allow the dead man to rest.”

A voice came from above. It was Damian’s. He floated with his hands clasped behind his back, his hair perfectly arranged and his clothes pristine white. He looked immaculate, like someone who hadn’t just taken on an End-Class Monster after killing a fellow Radiant Crownstar Life Ranker.

Vanessa’s gaze shifted toward the sky. She remained silent for a moment before replying.

”And aren’t you a bit too perfect and fine for someone who killed a Crownstar Life Ranker and an End-Class Monster?”

Her tone was cool as she began to rise into the sky with effortless ease. As she floated upward, the subtraction (-) function appeared on Damian’s forehead as he subtracted her fatigue until it reached zero, instantly rejuvenating her stamina.

Vanessa didn’t say thank you or even react. They had known each other for almost three decades, and Damian had done this countless times. Gratitude had lost its meaning when it came to things like this.

”How did you know I took on the Gorilla?”

Damian asked as he arched an eyebrow. He hadn’t told her about it, and he had been too far away from her for her to sense anything of the sort.

”I heard a powerful roar. It stands to reason that only that Gorilla could produce a roar powerful enough to reach this distance.”

She replied calmly. Although she had heard the roar, she didn’t know the details of how Damian had won. After all, as Damian had pointed out, she shouldn’t have been able to sense anything happening so far away.

Damian simply nodded and said nothing more. He turned his gaze in another direction before vanishing, and Vanessa didn’t delay. She simply followed beside him at great speed.

Michael Novrak could be seen sitting beneath a parasol. He was already done with his own battle, although he had lost his left arm during the fight after the First Regent had turned it into mashed potatoes with his heavy hammer. Other injuries could also be seen across his body.

Although he was covered in injuries and had even lost his right eye, he was still alive, having emerged victorious from the battle. As for healing, he didn’t possess an ability of his own like Vanessa Thorne. However, he could always return to his peak once he met up with Damian.

Ryuk, for his part, stood without a single injury. Of the three Vice Commanders, he was the strongest, as his Silverleaf Physique was simply that absurd, while his talent with the katana was ridiculous in its own right.

He had bullied the Second Regent to death without even using his Stat Allocation ability and without sustaining a single injury. The bald man was simply that absurd. If the gap between the Radiant Soulstar Life Rank and the Crownstar Life Rank weren’t so ridiculous, he would have closed it by now.

But alas, the Crownstar Life Rank was like an ascension for humans. Those who attained it became fundamentally different existences compared to everyone else.

Even if Ryuk poured ninety-nine percent of his stats from every parameter, including Speed, Agility, Stamina, Constitution, and Vitality, into his Strength stat before punching a Crownstar Life Ranker, unfortunately, it still wouldn’t be enough.

The gap was simply that wide. Insurmountable was the perfect word to describe the situation.

But he was getting there. Time was all he needed to achieve it, and he still had enough time.

After all, two decades ago, he had fought Vanessa, who was a Radiant Soulstar Life Ranker, to a draw without using his Stat Allocation ability. Today, he had defeated a Radiant Soulstar Life Ranker without using that ability, and he had done so with ease.

One could clearly see the progress he had made over the span of two decades.

At this moment, Ryuk could be seen lying on the branch of a tree, resting despite not having expended a single ounce of effort during his battle.

One would think that after their battles, these Vice Commanders would rush toward their soldiers to provide assistance. Instead, one sat beneath a parasol, another lay on a tree branch and napped, while the last spent her time reducing her already dead opponent to a pile of squashed meat and flesh.

One could only wonder how and why these three Vice Commanders were so irresponsible, and how the Algorith Frontier had managed to remain operational until now.
