Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1212: Courtesy

Saitama, seeing Acker’s transformation, arched an eyebrow. He could only shake his head with a small smile. He didn’t transform into anything because he had nothing to transform into; his ability was purely physical strength and his body, nothing more.

Asher didn’t hesitate. His Astra Energy vanished as his heart beat like an engine. From his heart, Star Energy erupted in waves, cloaking his entire body and flooding his central nervous system, brain, spine, eyes, and everything else.

He wanted to shift into his Light Armour skill, but he decided against it. Who knew when he would next find a Spark Voidstar Life Ranker? He was going to put his life on the line to progress and perhaps forcefully activate the Limitless Physical Growth of the Absolute Physique.

Yes, it was dangerous and stupid. But he was already fighting at the top level now. Training alone wouldn’t close the gap between him and Voidstar Life Rankers easily. After all, after spending almost nine months in seclusion, he could still only take on a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker without relying on Star Energy.

From here on out, only life-and-death battles could close the gap and perhaps breaking through to the next Life Ranks could.

Seeing the Tenth Sun tap into his mysterious white energy, Saitama shook his head once more as he felt like he was in the wrong group.

Asher’s eyes shifted towards Saitama, using his gaze to tell the boy to tap into his Astra Energy already or use any skill, ability, or whatever he had, just as he and Acker had done.

Receiving Asher’s gaze and understanding the intention behind it, Saitama simply shook his head. He couldn’t explain himself at the moment, after all, it wasn’t like he was going to start giving Asher lectures on his Physique while their enemy was standing right in front of them.

Seeing Saitama shake his head, Asher said nothing more. He simply locked eyes with the Black Woman and the Black Man standing before him.

”Since you will be dying by my blade, Tenth Sun, it’s only proper that I give you a name.”

The woman spoke with a smile on her lips. As she was about to continue introducing herself, Asher cut her off as he was already upon her in a blip, his speed erasing the distance like it had never existed in the first place.

He drew Virelass from its scabbard in one smooth motion, its jagged edges splitting the air as he slashed horizontally at the woman’s neck, aiming to gain an advantage through the element of surprise.

The Black Woman, Zuri, was speechless to see Asher close the distance instantly. She had given Asher and Acker the courtesy of transforming and preparing whatever they needed for the battle, as that was simply good manners, and yet the Tenth Sun hadn’t extended the same courtesy to her.

Although there were no official rules in battle and the Tenth Sun had done nothing wrong, it pissed her off.

But just because Asher had used his Star Energy didn’t mean the woman couldn’t react. Zuri simply took a step back, her movement remarkable as she didn’t move more than necessary. With just that singular step, she evaded the attack with insulting ease, her speed matching Asher’s without her having to tap into her Astra Energy.

As Asher’s slash missed, Zuri’s own weapon, a claymore, appeared in her hands. She moved without a shred of hesitation, her speed surging as she moved to bisect Asher from the waist within a split second.

But as her claymore moved, Saitama appeared, shifting his strength stat into his speed stat. Upon arriving, he shifted his agility stat into his strength, his fist blurring as he met the sword head-on without a change in expression.

With an ear-splitting bang, fist met claymore, a titanic, calamitous shockwave shrieking in every direction as cutting wind waves slashed through the forest and everything in sight. The surrounding trees splintered beneath the pressure, their shattered trunks scattering across the devastated battlefield.

As Saitama blocked, Asher vaulted over him, Star Energy still enhancing his body and Virelass as he slashed downward from the sky in an overhead swing. Zuri wasn’t flustered or bothered by Saitama’s sudden appearance; she simply drew back her claymore and swung it upwards.

The sound of metal meeting metal rang outwards, and a burst of orange sparks filled the space between them.

Saitama was already on the move. Since Zuri had already blocked the overhead swing, her body was exposed. He immediately shifted twenty percent of his stats from stamina into speed, then transferred twenty percent of his agility stat into strength. With that, he punched outwards consecutively without missing a beat.

Zuri, who had just blocked Asher’s attack, simply shifted her gaze towards the incoming attacks. Her free left hand moved like flowing water, the back of her palm meeting every punch from Saitama as she deflected them to the side like it were child’s play.

The moment she shifted her attention from Asher to deal with Saitama, Asher acted. His left hand pointed at the woman’s head, his index and middle fingers coming together to form the shape of a gun. At the tips of his fingers, a mind-boggling amount of Star Energy gathered, and without missing a beat, he unleashed a beam of pure Star Energy at almost point-blank range.

Zuri’s mind and body snapped towards the incoming attack as her senses screamed at her to react. She couldn’t draw back her claymore in time to block it. But she didn’t particularly have to, as her Astra Energy came alive the next moment, forming a circular shield before her.

Saitama didn’t dare remain within range. The moment he sensed Asher’s attack, he vanished from where he stood, his speed surging as he moved hundreds of kilometres in an instant.

The moment the Star Energy beam struck the barrier, disastrous devastation beyond anything released up until that moment erupted.

The power of the Star Energy bore down upon the Astra Energy barrier as Asher fired continuously, the air barrier and sound barrier collapsing in rapid succession. Blinding flashes illuminated the clouds as violent ripples spread through the atmosphere.

But the woman didn’t move. She simply remained behind her barrier. However, the next moment, she sensed something and immediately vanished from where she stood. The moment she vanished, the ambient Astra Energy motes in the air exploded in tandem under Asher’s Perfect Astra Control ability.

Asher stopped firing the Star Energy beam, as there was simply no need. His head momentarily snapped towards Acker, and some distance away, the boy was holding the Black Man back. He wasn’t fighting to win but to stall, as even with his Blessing of Buddha, he couldn’t overpower his opponent easily and could only keep him at bay.

Asher simply nodded. As long as the low-budget Aang was fine, there was nothing to worry about.

His eyes snapped in the direction where Zuri stood. Zuri looked into Asher’s eyes and smirked at him. She was loving this. Although it was monstrous that the Tenth Sun had grown to such a level, she didn’t care.

She, too, was a genius, after all. She was only thirty-five and was already at the Spark Voidstar Life Rank.
