Chapter 1220: Acker Embraces His Death

Go back and read the previous Chapter if you haven’t; I’ve corrected and replaced it. Thank you for understanding my absence; I apologize once more.

Also, once something like this happens, always know I will replace the Chapter, as I won’t allow any of you to waste your coins.

Pain flooded Acker’s mind, but he gritted his teeth and endured it, as even in his Blessed Form, he could still feel pain. Although his pain tolerance was high, it still paled in comparison to Asher’s and Saitama’s.

Acker tried to move, but the Black Man didn’t let up. He immediately landed on his feet behind Acker as he completed his backflip. With his spear still embedded in Acker’s shoulder, he brought it down with wicked force and vicious momentum, ripping Acker’s back open as though he were a butcher working in an abattoir.

With his spear still in Acker’s back, he pushed it to the right with immense force. The sound of flesh ripping apart rang through the air like a struck bell as almost half of Acker’s upper body was instantly torn completely away from the rest of his body.

His hand, ribs, and a few organs tore into the air, then slammed into the ground with a heavy thud, creating a gut-wrenching sight as blood splattered into the air and across the Black Man’s face, whose expression remained indifferent.

He spun on his feet, then delivered a back-foot kick to the halo behind Acker. The force launched Acker forward like a ball of cast iron fired from a cannon, the momentum propelling him hundreds of kilometers before he slammed into the ground and ricocheted continuously. He finally landed on his feet, his body skidding backward as his feet dug trenches into the ground.

What Acker was experiencing right now would have been Asher’s fate if he had faced ’Z’ without Arianna-chan’s help. He would have been chewed up and spat out like gum.

Acker coughed up a large amount of blood as he collapsed onto his feet, his body turning pale for a moment due to the continuous blood loss and the absence of organs. But in the next moment, he was healed as his regeneration completed, his body becoming whole once more as color returned to his face.

Acker’s eyes snapped toward the Black Man, but the man was already on the move, racing toward Zuri’s location. Although he was weaker than Zuri, since she was one sub-Life Rank higher, that didn’t mean he didn’t want to contribute to killing the Tenth Sun.

Even if he didn’t participate much, he didn’t care. He wanted the fame and rewards that came with contributing to the Tenth Sun’s death. Fighting Acker was simply a game to him, something he had indulged in without taking the battle seriously.

Acker immediately shot into the air as he swiftly closed the distance between himself and the Black Man. Although he didn’t know why his fellow baldie, by the name of Saitama, wasn’t here and had instead gone to accompany the Cleaver of Sin, he didn’t complain.

As a member of the Hero Party, he couldn’t exactly refuse to pull his weight as the Healer, could he?

With a boom, he landed in front of the Black Man, interrupting his movements. The moment he landed, he shot forward like an arrow released from a bow as he closed the distance between them. He was weaker, he was slower, and he hadn’t inflicted even a single injury on this man, but he didn’t care. His job was simply to stall, and until he received a message from the Hero, he would not fail in his first Hero Party Member Task.

The Black Man finally wore a frown, as he was getting tired of this bald pest. He finally decided to kill him once and for all. With that thought in mind, he closed the distance, arriving before Acker before Acker could even reach him, despite Acker having moved first.

He unleashed ten thousand thrusts within the span of time it took to blink. Acker’s hands immediately moved into a prayer gesture as his Bodhisattva Hands appeared around him, shielding him from the attacks. However, it was useless, as the spear tore through all of them, each one exploding into motes of light.

The low-budget Aang immediately teleported, his body appearing a kilometer away, but the moment he materialized, the Black Man was already there, his spear thrusting toward Acker’s forehead as he moved to end the boy.

Seeing that he couldn’t dodge in time through teleportation, Acker could only accept his fate. At least he had stalled the Black Man for as long as possible. He could only hope that the Hero had killed the woman.

As for his death, he was sure that Buddha would welcome him with open arms. After all, he had died while fulfilling his task. What more could he ask for?

Although it was a shame that he wouldn’t get to see the Hero recognized as the Cleaver of Sin a few years from now, as Buddha had revealed to him ten months ago, it didn’t matter.

And with that, Acker Holloway, the Priest of the Hero Party, embraced his death.

As the spear was about to rip his head open, space fluctuated mildly as Acker vanished, and in his place, another bald person appeared.

Saitama was stunned to find himself standing before a spear screaming toward his neck. However, his surprise didn’t slow his ridiculous reflexes, as his hand blurred upward and caught the spear by its shaft, bringing the attack to an abrupt halt.

It didn’t take Saitama more than a second to understand what was happening.

The Black Man, seeing a familiar bald guy, immediately frowned. The possibility of Zuri’s death instantly flashed through his mind, as he knew that the Tenth Sun and this caped baldie had attacked Zuri together.

The moment that possibility crossed his mind, he immediately moved, not daring to test his luck against this newcomer. Astra Energy flared through his body as he decisively chose to escape.

His body vanished into the distance. Saitama turned his head in the direction the man had fled. He couldn’t help but praise the man’s decisiveness and intuition, but alas, it was futile. With a single step, he vanished instantly, appearing beside the Dust Voidstar Life Ranker with ease.

The moment he appeared, the Black Man instantly stopped, green flames illuminating his spear as he thrust it toward Saitama’s heart with perfect aim and accuracy. His speed was faster than anything he had displayed against Acker, as atmospheric temperature soared to an incredible level.

Saitama stared at the incoming attack. He didn’t care about the heat or anything of the sort; he simply punched the incoming attack with effortless calm. With a bang, a deafening sound erupted outward, slamming into both men.

The Black Man was immediately thrown backward, but he didn’t care. He twisted his body, landed on his fist, and shot forward as he continued his escape. Flames erupted beneath his feet, boosting his speed even further as he crossed kilometers in an instant.

But Saitama wasn’t so easily outmatched in terms of speed. With two steps, he had already closed the distance once more, his figure flickering beside the Black Man as his foot connected with the man’s jaw before he could even react.

The man’s body shot sideways, tearing through rubble and trees in the distance. Although the Astra Energy cloaking him had mitigated the damage, it didn’t mean he was uninjured. His teeth were knocked from his gums as he bled profusely. If it hadn’t been for his Astra Energy, his jaw would have been completely dislocated.

Saitama appeared before the man once more. His hand rose into the air before he brought it down like a sword, the arc perfect, the strength immense, and the technique beautiful.

The moment he completed the motion, a compressed wind arc erupted and slammed into the Black Man. It ripped through his Astra Energy before tearing through his body, slicing him in half from head to waist. The attack continued onward, splitting the trees and terrain in the distance in tandem.

Both halves of the Black Man fell in opposite directions with soft, dull thuds. Saitama stared at the corpse, then turned away with an indifferent expression.

Without his Stat Allocation ability, he could bully many Dust Voidstar Life Rankers to death.
