Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1203: Zero

Damian Wargrave stared at the destruction the ten alternate versions of himself had caused. A staggering destruction of ten million kilometers wasn’t something he could pull off on his own. The most he could do on his own was within a million kilometers to two million kilometers. Only people like Azaron and Morthern could cause destruction on this scale.

And now, he had climbed to that realm of power.

This was the true evidence that even without stepping into the next Life Rank, one could always become stronger until their talent and potential were exhausted.

After seventy years, maybe he could now take on Azaron and Morthern and win.

A smirk appeared on his lips the next moment. Why wouldn’t he be happy? This was the first time he was using this Ultimate Skill of his. Yes, he had perfected it five years ago, but never bothered to use it, because he didn’t just want to use the Ultimate Skill and stare at ten versions of himself.

He only wanted to use it against an opponent. And although he could have defeated the Grand Regent named Grace without even using this skill, he had been itching to use it, so this moment was just an opportunity to scratch the itch and show off.

As he floated above and stared downwards with a smile on his face, the First Alternate Version turned towards the Original Damian and spoke.

”It seems you finally found the perfect opportunity to use your Ultimate Skill.”

His tone was calm and playful, just like the Original Damian.

”Unfortunately, his Astra Energy is now running low, as he had spent it all to summon us.”

The Second Alternate Version added, his own black eyes shifting to the Original Damian after he stared at the destruction below.

And indeed, the Second Alternate Version’s words were right. The Original Damian had expended his entire Astra Energy to use this Ultimate Skill, which seemed stupid to do, but the man didn’t care. After all, he was bringing ten of himself to life, who possessed his true strength and force, as well as his full reserve of Astra Energy, so at the end of the day, it didn’t matter.

”Why does it matter if the ten of you are here?”

The Original Damian asked indifferently as he shrugged.

The Alternate Versions stared at him for a moment, then shook their heads collectively. Although they were all Alternate Versions, they all possessed the same face, hair, height, personality, and attitude. And due to them possessing the same memories stemming from the Original Damian from the point of their summoning, they knew that Damian was already working on something, a new skill to combat the limitation of the Ultimate Skill.

The limitation being the exhaustion of Astra Energy.

Although summoning ten of himself should make him secure, the Original Damian wasn’t. In a world like Crymora, only one thing held true; ”the greatest power and strength was personal power and strength.”

And the moment he expended his entire Astra Energy to summon the ten Alternate Versions, Damian no longer possessed any ”personal strength.”

Yes, the ten Alternate Versions would listen to his suggestions, they would keep him safe, they would do whatever he asked and requested. And while they were a product of his ability, which kind of equated to personal power and strength, to the Original Damian, it didn’t.

Because now that meant leaving his safety in another person’s hands. And although he trusted all ten Alternate Versions, if you wanted something done, you had to do it yourself.

After all, relying on them would make him no different than Summoners in various novels that Morthern had told him about. And once you defeated the summons of these Summoners and Necromancers, they became pieces of meat on a chopping board.

He wasn’t willing to become that.

And as for how he planned to combat this?

Well, for the past five years, after perfecting the Log Multiplication Ultimate Skill, the Original Damian had started working on a way to multiply his own reserve of Astra Energy.

If he could use the multiplication or addition function of his Calculator ability to successfully pull this off, he could practically and literally possess infinite Astra Energy.

But if he could pull it off was one thing, and how many years it would take to pull it off was another thing. But Damian was confident he would succeed. After all, he had Log multiplied himself, no?

If a Human can be multiplied, why not Astra Energy?

And the icing on the cake? If he managed to pull off this new skill, which might take even more time than the Ultimate Skill to create, he would technically be able to summon infinite Alternate Versions of himself.

After all, ten wasn’t his skill limit; it was the limit of his sheer Astra Energy. That was the reason he named it Ultimate Skill. Because the skill wasn’t limited, but he, Damian, was limited by his sheer Astra Energy reserves.

He could already imagine an infinite amount of himself conquering various Planets and whatnot for the fun of it. But alas, that imagination could only stay an imagination, as even the division and subtraction functions under his Calculator ability didn’t even work on the World Barrier.

Although, maybe, just maybe, if his Calculator ability experienced an evolution, he would be able to weaken it. But that was just a guess.

’Even if the ten Alternate Versions of myself attacked the World Barrier at the same time, it wouldn’t work.’

The Original Damian thought to himself as he didn’t bother telling the Alternate Versions to try it and see what happens.

So, maybe when he pulls off his infinite Astra Energy cheat, he could try it, and would spend months if not years weakening the World Barrier if he had to.

Another thing that Damian had confirmed after using the Ultimate Skill was that the Alternate Versions of himself couldn’t use the Ultimate Skill to multiply their own existence. It would have been a fun sight... but alas, it seemed the world was trying its best to put a limitation on this man known as Damian Wargrave.

So, Damian had spent the past five years being extremely busy. Despite him just perfecting a skill he termed Ultimate, the man never rested; he had started working on another ridiculous one. And although he hadn’t made any significant progress, he didn’t care.

It had taken seventy years to achieve the Ultimate Skill. What was seventy more years? What was a century?

At that time, he could dominate the entire Planet by himself.

Time was all he needed, and time he had through his ridiculous Lifespan. And with his Calculator ability, he had already multiplied his own Lifespan, vitality, and peak activities of his blood cells.

Although he hadn’t achieved Immortality, he could now cheat death, just the way Cindralis and the End-Class Monster at the Blessed Lands had.

As for patience... there was nobody more patient than him.

”What dangerous thoughts are you having now, Zero?”

The Third Alternate Version asked, his eyes fixed on the Original Damian, whom the Alternate Versions referred to as ’Zero’ since he was their source.
