Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1211: The Whole Gang

Asher looked to his left, where Acker was standing with his bead around his neck, then to the right, where Saitama had just arrived. Seeing the dark green coat hanging on Saitama’s shoulders, he couldn’t help but wonder where the boy had gotten it from.

However, he didn’t think too much about it. His father was a Vice Commander, after all, so it wouldn’t be difficult to make a request like that and get it done.

”It seems the whole gang is here.”

Asher spoke as he couldn’t help but wonder where these people kept coming from. He had simply been attacking a group of Soldiers when he was suddenly ambushed.

At Asher’s words, both Saitama and Acker said nothing, their bald heads reflecting the sun’s rays as they stared at the Voidstar Life Ranker before them.

Asher’s eyes shifted towards the two Voidstar Life Rank Soldiers standing before him. Neither of them bothered to conceal their Life Ranks, displaying them for all to see.

’One at the Dust sub-Life Rank and the other at the Spark sub-Life Rank.’

Asher thought to himself, recognizing that the woman was at the Spark sub-Life Rank, while the man was a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker.

The man who had been pursuing the Buddhist no longer looked at Acker. With the Tenth Sun’s presence, Acker was just another random Soldier to him. Killing the Tenth Sun had become his top priority.

Although Asher stood in silence, deep down, he was wondering why the Frontier didn’t have enough Voidstar Life Rankers to match the exact number of Voidstar Life Rankers from the Velkarin Empire.

’Unless these two have already killed their opponents.’

Asher thought to himself, his expression remaining flat. Although he had considered that possibility, he wasn’t certain. It was simply an educated guess.

The Black Man and the Black Woman simply moved, both of them shooting forward towards Asher like bullets fired from a gun as they ignored Acker and Saitama like they weren’t even there.

In less than a split second, they both arrived. The Black Woman arrived first, her fist shooting towards Asher’s head once more. The Black Man arrived next, his fingers shaped like a claw as he aimed for Asher’s chest. He wanted to tear out his heart and hold it in his hand while watching it beat ever so slowly before finally watching it fall still.

Asher, Acker, and Saitama immediately reacted, their perceptions stretching as everything around them seemed to slow down for a moment. Flying debris, churning clouds of smoke, echoes, everything appeared to halt in place.

The next instant, they snapped forward simultaneously, like they shared a single consciousness. Astra Energy covered Asher’s hand as he moved his fist to block the incoming attack. Earlier, he had been able to stop the Black Woman’s attack because she hadn’t added any additional strength to it.

However, at this moment, the woman had added more strength to her fist. If he blocked it using purely physical strength, he would be thrown backwards like a kite caught in a storm.

As Asher moved to intercept the Black Woman, Acker and Saitama appeared between Asher and the Black Man.

Saitama didn’t hesitate to use the innate ability of his Silverleaf Physique. His agility instantly plummeted as he channelled it into strength, and his hand shot out like a ray of light as he met the Black Man’s claw head-on.

With a booming sound, their attacks clashed head-on. The force of the collision generated astonishing, compressed circular wind waves that erupted in every direction known to mankind with pure destructive force.

Everything within a seven-hundred-kilometre radius was instantly reduced to nothingness. The Soldiers within the range didn’t even know what had hit them before their bodies were crushed, their bones cracked, and their organs burst as the shockwave reached them.

Soldiers from both sides of the battle perished from the aftereffects of the collision.

Asher’s body shot backwards like a ragdoll, but he regained control of himself and landed on his feet. Even after enhancing himself with Astra Energy, he had still failed to match the raw physical power of a Spark Voidstar Life Ranker. They weren’t easy opponents to take on.

Acker skidded backwards, his feet carving deep trenches into the earth until he came to a stop just before Asher, having been pushed back by the Black Man.

He frowned the next moment as he immediately understood that, in his current state, it was impossible to take on a Voidstar Life Ranker head-on without suffering a loss.

However, as Acker frowned, everyone else did as well, their eyes landing on the Soldiers they had killed. They had slaughtered their own forces simply by clashing once.

Asher didn’t blame himself. What was he supposed to do? Dodge? Even if he had, the shockwave from the missed attack would still have reduced everyone from the Radiant Wavestar Life Rank downwards to meat paste, so it wouldn’t have mattered.

Asher didn’t linger for too long. He didn’t know whether these two were willing to sacrifice their own Soldiers to kill a Wargrave. One could never be too sure with people like them, after all. To them, the end might justify the means.

Although it was merely a guess, he wasn’t prepared to test his assumptions by sacrificing the Soldiers of the Frontier.

With a thought, his body shot skyward, moving at supersonic speed as he tore through the sound barrier. Acker and Saitama didn’t hesitate to follow, as they understood Asher’s plan. Their bodies moved at the same speed as they crossed the distance in a blur.

With a boom, all three landed in another direction after crossing a safe distance. The moment they landed, the Black Man and the Black Woman landed as well, having followed them because they didn’t want their Soldiers caught in the crossfire.

Acker Holloway’s voice rang out across the entire new battlefield.

”Blessings of Buddha: Activate.”

He didn’t waste any time tapping into one of his trump cards. If he delayed, he might never get the chance to use it and would be killed instead.

A blinding golden pillar of light screamed down from the sky, splitting the clouds and the air before descending upon the Buddhist’s head. Acker’s body glowed golden yellow as his dark green Frontier uniform dissolved into flickering, vanishing motes of light. Golden scales appeared across his body, spreading from his chest to every other part of his body before stopping just beneath his jawline.

A massive golden halo appeared behind his back, brimming with immense power and force, as it contained an infinite amount of Astra Energy.

This was the same ability he had used against Asher back at the Inter-Empire Tournament. Everyone had witnessed it before, so they weren’t exactly surprised. However, seeing it in person and watching it through a screen were two entirely different things.

Although this was the same ability he had used back then, it no longer possessed the same level of power. After all, it was impossible for ten months to pass without Acker making any progress. The Blessing of Buddha granted him greater strength, greater speed, greater destructive capability, and infinite Astra Energy, with the golden halo behind him serving as the source of that power.

Acker’s golden eyes snapped towards the Black Man. Although the man paid him no attention and focused entirely on the Tenth Sun, Acker didn’t care. All he wanted was to hold the man back while Asher and Saitama dealt with the Black Woman, who was stronger.
