Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

”Still no sign of that spiritual tree… Did it perhaps lose the battle and died without getting the opportunity to retrieve the enlightenment orb?”

As a week passed since the turmoil that had emerged around the tree root he had left in the Frozen Wastelands, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a bit anxious given the lack of movement from the spiritual tree that should have shown up to reclaim its cut-off root. Even making him wonder if the spiritual tree might have ended up losing. After all, it did end up getting one of its roots cut off. Showing that its opponent was by no means weak.

Thinking along this line, he couldn’t help growing a bit curious about the spiritual tree’s opponent.

Rumble-!

However, this train of thought was quickly cut off, as he suddenly felt a terrifying presence erupting from the Frozen Wastelands. Not one he was familiar with and certainly not belonging to a demonic cultivator given the profound aura of life that seemed to be imbued in the very essence of this terrifying presence. Showing just how terrifying the other party’s comprehension of the Dao of Life was.

”Speak of the devil and he shall appear… Looks like that spiritual tree finally showed up.” Muttering this to himself as he looked off in the direction of the Frozen Wastelands where the terrifying presence had come from, he could not help feeling a shiver running down his spine. Sensing clearly that the strength of the spiritual tree or plant that had been the original owner of the enlightenment orb had at the very least reached the Land Creation.

Not just that, but from the terrifying eruption just now, it was also clear that it was in an angered state after finding out that the enlightenment orb had been taken away… And the first to suffer from this was none other than the demonic cultivators, as he could already sense the terrifying fluctuations from two Land Creation level combatants clashing with each other in the depths of the Frozen Wastelands. Although the area affected by this battle was far smaller than the first clash between the monk and the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands, it was by no means any weaker.

Hopefully the battle remains within the boundaries of the Frozen Wastelands and doesn’t get any closer to the sect, that would be the best-case scenario. Giving me an opportunity to watch the battle from afar and gains some insight into the Land Creation Realm.

Thinking this to himself as he stared into the distance, Xuan Hao didn’t waste any time as he directly spread out his divine sense to observe the battle that was playing out in the depths of the Frozen Wastelands from a safe distance.

Of course, his divine sense was nowhere near vast enough to reach the location where the two were clashing with each other, but that wasn’t a problem, as he could judge the state of the battle from the fluctuations alone.

And from what he could tell so far, the ruler of the Frozen Wasteland had the clear advantage and was slowly suppressing his opponent. Not much of a surprise considering he had the home ground advantage.

The thing that ended up catching him by surprise about the battle that was taking place was the fact that he could clearly sense the presence of life confronting the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands was growing stronger with each passing second… And along with that, he could also sense the aura of life that existed inside the Frozen Wastelands was climbing rapidly as the aura of yin that seemed to have permeated ever part of the Frozen Wastelands in the past was slowly being changed.

In simple words, the spiritual tree or plant that had barged into the Frozen Wastelands was forcibly changing the environment of the Frozen Wastelands. Making it more compatible with itself.

Under normal circumstances, doing something like that would waste far more energy than what little boost one would end up experiencing in the end, so this kind of method to forcibly change it into something more aligned with the Dao one had comprehended didn’t happen often.

In the rare instances that something like that did end up happening, it was either an accident or due to someone weaker trying to lend a hand in a battle that far exceeded what they could participate in.

With that in mind, he felt that it was far more likely that it was the latter of the two, as he really couldn’t see a way that kind of environment was created by accident or by the spiritual tree itself.

But… If that was the case, who was helping the spiritual tree in its fight against the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands?

Not just that, but the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands also had subordinates of his own and should have the ability to have them handle whatever subordinates the spiritual tree had dragged along.

No matter how he thought about it, he only ended up becoming more confused about the current situation in the Frozen Wastelands. The only real thing he could do to get a clear idea of what was happening for now, would be to once again make a short trip to the Frozen Wastelands, but… Considering that he had just done so less than a week earlier, he didn’t feel like it would be fitting for him to do so.

Because of this, even though part of him wanted to rush forward to observe the battle that was raging inside the Frozen Wastelands, the rational part of his brain kept him in check.

The reason for this was not just to uphold the sect’s detached image, but also because he still felt worried facing the spiritual tree that he had essentially stolen the enlightenment orb from.

Worried that the spiritual tree had some kind of way to identify him as having been in contact with the enlightenment orb in the past and in turn change its target from the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands to him!
