Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 899: A Plan Against the Guards

The pink kidsʼ scooter tipped over and lost its balance, and Fu Luo crashed heavily to the ground.

The baseball cap representing Super Sports Mode tumbled a full rotation before coming to a stop, while the scooterʼs dazzling wheels flashing with tri-colored light continued spinning wildly in the air.

”Damn, damn, damn!”

Fu Luo groaned in pain on the ground, feeling like every bone in his body was about to fall apart.

No matter how great his reputation, how impressive his battle record, or even the fact that he had obtained a truly top-tier offensive [item]...

None of that could hide the fact that Fu Luoʼs physical strength was pathetically weak!

And it was precisely because of this glaring weakness that, no matter how much the outside world hyped him up, Fu Luo knew exactly where he stood, maintaining a very clear self-awareness of his own limitations.

After all...

Perhaps among the ”experts” among the ʼPlayersʼ, many might have ”shortcomings.”

Some lacked long-range capabilities, some were weak at puzzle-solving, some couldnʼt sustain prolonged battles...

But someone with as abysmal basic physical ability as Fu Luo could absolutely never be called an expert!

Just like right now.

From a simple stumble and loss of balance, Fu Luo had already been thrown into an extremely dangerous situation.

The pain wracking his body made it impossible for him to stand, and his already-depleted stamina was now completely unable to support any movement whatsoever.

Pressing against the ground, the trembling of the earth transmitted fear into his body through his skin, overriding the pain.

”Damn, am I really going to die here?!”

Fu Luo cursed inwardly.

How infuriating... just when everything was finally on the right track.

He had finally gained some reputation, started growing stronger, and even made some pretty good friends...

”If this were a novel, the pacing would be terrible, isnʼt this supposed to be the moment where this great detectiveʼs highlight begins?”

”Wait, could it be that Iʼm actually a supporting character? The kind that gets sacrificed to kick off the protagonistʼs new growth arc, man, that would really suck!”

”But thinking about it more carefully, it does kind of make sense... the friends Iʼve made recently are way too protagonist-like...”

”Then again, dying like this would be so embarrassing, my reputation has already spread, and now Iʼm capsizing in a ditch like this... Would it look to ʼOrderʼ or other players like a supernova suddenly getting bitten to death by a stray dog on the roadside?”

”That would be kind of funny... though, maybe after I die, theyʼll discover I was actually just putting on airs...”

”Ugh, I was planning to save up some money in the second half of the year to buy a car for the family, now Iʼve gone and fed my parents empty promises... hope they donʼt grieve too much.”

Fu Luoʼs mind raced with random thoughts.

His thinking was always fast, and at a moment of life and death like this, his brain naturally kicked into overdrive.

But... because his body could barely move, all Fu Luo could do was let his thoughts wander.

And just as he felt he was done for...

Suddenly, Fu Luo felt a powerful pulling force coming from beneath him.

”Whoosh!”

And then...

He sank into the ground.

Darkness filled his vision, and the bizarre sensation of traveling through the earth left Fu Luo completely bewildered.

”What the hell is going on?”

But...

”Boom!”

Soon, a violent jolt brought Fu Luo back up to the surface.

Then he figured out what had happened.

It was Old Yao grabbing hold of him.

”Old Yao, you have the ability to travel underground?!”

Fu Luo instantly understood, no wonder his three teammates had vanished in the blink of an eye!

Two people were half-buried in the soil, and Lin Yu looked at Fu Luo and nodded.

”Thatʼs right, Iʼve already moved King Vulture and Kitty to a safe location.”

”But these autonomous guards really are annoying, their learning ability is impressive too, the same trick wonʼt work twice on them,” Lin Yu said, brushing the dirt from his hair. ”But donʼt worry, Furbollo, I still have a plan!”

At that moment, two of the guards had once again transformed their hands into drill-like shapes, plunging into the ground and churning up the earth.

That was why Lin Yu had surfaced.

Although the continuous hammering shockwaves didnʼt have much effect on the [Earth Evasion Talisman Armor], since Lin Yu was simply too fast, the sustained vibration of these drills could indeed interfere with his movements.

Originally, using the [Earth Evasion Talisman Armor] felt to Lin Yu like swimming through soil, and shockwaves were like someone throwing rocks into the water, which didnʼt affect him much.

But the continuous vibration of these drills was like a wave machine, severely limiting his mobility.

Of course...

This wasnʼt really a solution these guards had evolved after seeing the trick a ”second time.”

After all, before rendezvousing with Fu Luo and the others, Lin Yu had already tested the [Earth Evasion Talisman Armor] several times.

But...

Lin Yu did indeed have a backup plan.

Looking at the five guards closing in, Lin Yu pulled a bottle from his chest.

”Since you guys like reading minds so much... try this on for size!”

Lin Yu tossed the bottle in a high arc, and then...

”Psssssh!”

Spray erupted from the bottle, drawing an arc through the air.

This was... the [Rage Spray] from Truth Corporation!

High-concentration pure ”rage emotion” appeared, which for these guards that relied on reading minds to locate their targets was no different from full-spectrum jamming interference!

Like a thermal imaging device suddenly picking up a thousand-degree heat source, their reading and judgment had been disrupted to the absolute limit.

All the guards experienced a moment of chaos.

And... this was really just an appetizer.

The instant Lin Yu threw the [Rage Spray], he also immediately activated his psychic power, pouring out and transmitting his own negative emotions.

Throwing the bottle was just so Fu Luo could see him using what appeared to be some ”Truth Corporation” creation, preventing Fu Luo from getting too curious or overestimating ”Old Yao.”

Lin Yuʼs real killer move was the psychic power that Fu Luo couldnʼt perceive at all.

If the [Rage Spray] was a thousand-degree heat source, then now...

Lin Yu had turned this place into a sea of fire.

They could no longer perceive any useful information; noise was everywhere, and it felt like enemies were coming from all directions!

The guards spun around in confusion, not even knowing what to attack.

And this was the real ”killer move” against these guards, a tactic targeting their fundamental design and inherent flaws, one that no matter how many times they faced it, could never be learned or countered.

It was like a chess-playing AI being targeted, it could always learn new patterns on the board and seek countermeasures.

But if you made a Go AI replay a thousand times, it still couldnʼt do anything effective to counter the fact that its power supply was forcibly cut off mid-game!
