Chapter 109: Awakening of the Soul

”Stuff of legend? Ain’t I standing in front of you as a living document?”

The beggar replied.

Ethan said, ”What do you want? Do you want to kill me because the food wasn’t good enough?”

The man’s mouth started twitching again.

”Boy, I liked your personality. So I want to give you a chance. If you are lucky enough, your destiny might change. My name is Valkan. I am an elder from the Overlord Sect. I’ll take you there, and if you can awaken a Soul, even if it is a red one, I would allow you to serve under me. Do you have the guts to take this chance?”

”So this cultivation journey starts with a spirit soul. I have already copied the genetic code of this world’s people. Maybe I’ll awaken one.” Ethan was grinning.

He looked at the begger and said firmly, ”Why wouldn’t I dare? Take me to the sect, old man. I might become the sect master someday. I’ll take care of you then.”

The cultivator’s mouth was twitching violently. Normally, if a person knew about a cultivator, he would kneel down immediately and worship him like a god, but this young man was acting weirdly casual right now. He thought to himself, ”You better awaken something above blue level, or else you would have to carry water to the spirit field all your life for the disrespect. Huh,” he snorted.

Then a boat came out from the space ring and it became large.

It was a high-grade spirit vessel for fast travelling.

Ethan was surprised to see the boat. It was a great technology but not technology at the same time. The cultivation world seemed very mysterious right now. He would find out soon.

Then Ethan stepped on the boat, even before the cultivator himself, like he owned this boat.

The cultivator was cursing internally, ”Weren’t you so scared a few moments ago? How the fuck did you become like this in an instant?”

But he didn’t scold. He decided to give him the chance first. If he failed, he would spank him and let him go. He was good-natured.

But what he didn’t know was, if he weren’t a good-natured person, he might go under a brutal questioning session which might even destroy his life.

That’s why there was a saying: ”Always be kind to people.”

The boat started soaring in the sky and immediately it vanished. The speed was super fast. At least 10,000 km per second. Not bad at all.

Ethan asked, ”Old man! Can you tell me about the world of cultivation a little bit? I don’t know anything.”

The man replied, ”At first, you need to awaken a Spirit Soul. There are different graded souls present.

From low to high they are: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Violet.

The higher the grade of your soul, the stronger it would be and the more it would be able to absorb energy and give you boost in other aspect too.

The cultivation realms are: Body Refinement, Qi Refinement, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Purple Palace, Void Ascension, Tribulation Transcendence, Mahayana.

Each realm has 9 levels. That’s all you need to know for now. If you pass the test, you would be able to know more.”

Ethan nodded. It was under his expectation. So he didn’t ask any more.

Soon, they reached a huge mountain range. The boat started to go down.

Elder Valkan looked at Ethan and said, ”We have reached. Someone will take you to the awakening hall.”

Ethan nodded. He wrapped the mountain range with his senses. It was bigger than Earth itself. The sect was situated on the top of the largest mountain. There were tremendous auras inside that place. Some even surpassed 5 Sun level.

Ethan thought, ”I need to measure the power scale later.”

The boat landed on the ground. Many young men and women came as soon as they saw the boat and greeted, ”Welcome Elder Valkan.”

They were looking at Ethan curiously.

Valkan took out a stone and kept it again. Ethan didn’t know what he did.

Soon, a female in a blue dress came toward them. She stopped and bowed to Valkan, ”Welcome back, Master.”

Valkan nodded, then looked at Ethan and said, ”Take him to the awakening hall.”

When he said this, other people also looked at Ethan with some surprise. Elder Valkan took someone specially for the awakening process. Who was he?

Valkan said, ”This is Mika. She will take you to the hall. I hope you succeed.”

Then he smiled mysteriously and vanished from the place.

Ethan looked at Mika. She was 25 or something years old. Captivating look and figure, and was radiating a gentle aura. But he could tell this girl was strong. At least 500 million tonnes of strength.

He greeted her, ”Nice to meet you. I am Ryan. I’ll be under your care.”

Mika also greeted him back with a slight nod.

Ethan didn’t mind. He wasn’t here to fish girls.

Mika started walking and Ethan followed her.

Soon they reached a hall. Mika said, ”You can go to that room. Elder Trevor will conduct the process. I’ll stay here.”

Ethan nodded and entered the room.

An old man with similar strength to Valkan was sitting on a chair, reading something.

He looked up and gauged Ethan, ”Who brought you here, boy?”

”Elder Valkan,” Ethan replied.

Elder Trevor nodded and said, ”Okay then, go sit there,” he pointed at a circle with different runes.

Ethan sat there cross-legged.

Elder Trevor muttered something, then pressed the circle. The runes lit up and a strange energy entered his body.

Ethan followed the path of this energy, as usual. The energy reached his heart and boom!

Something strange was forming there. Soon, a tiny sword formed. As soon as the sword formed, it started absorbing energy like a black hole.

Elder Trevor still had a lazy look on him as he didn’t expect much from this plane looking boy, but then boom! The entire area, even the area with a radius of 100 km, the spirit energy was being sucked at the speed of light. The runes glowed with dark violet color.

Trevor’s eyes widened with horror. From the establishment of this sect, no one had awakened a violet soul, not even the ancestor. He had only a purple soul.

But what he didn’t know was...
