Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 742: Chapter 741: You Still Treat Me as an Outsider

On the hospital bed, the old mother was also very anxious, but she was physically incapacitated. Even if she wanted to get up, she had no strength at all. She couldn’t speak either; she could only watch the scene unfolding from her bed.

Maxwell Peary’s lips curled into a cold smile as he flexed his ankles. He had put his full force into that kick just now.

”Who are you? I don’t care who you are.”

Maxwell Peary, with a look of disdain, watched as the mayor’s wife went to help him, and then the hospital director called for doctors and nurses. Ignoring everything else happening there, he turned to look at Nia Mitchell.

”Are you getting bolder?”

Along the way, Maxwell had thought a lot. The more he pampered this Rabina, the more she pushed her luck.

She hadn’t even left a word and just took a car to such a faraway place on her own?

Hmph?

Nia Mitchell froze, standing there looking utterly wronged. Everything that had happened today needed an outlet.

When she saw Maxwell Peary arrive earlier, she had desperately wanted to hug him, to feel his warmth.

But she never expected that he wouldn’t even glance at her.

Now that he had finally looked at her, he actually said such things.

What did he mean by ’getting bolder’?

”How did you know I was here?” Nia Mitchell frowned, somewhat puzzled.

Maxwell Peary didn’t answer her question. Silence filled the ward, broken only by the rhythmic beeping of the machines and the mayor’s grunts amidst his curses.

Nia Mitchell stood there, a stubborn pout on her lips.

”Speak!” Maxwell Peary didn’t want to waste time. He hadn’t even raised his voice when facing the mayor earlier. Seeing Nia remain silent, he suddenly raised his voice.

Nia Mitchell was startled, a little unsettled by the CEO’s volume.

”I...” She didn’t know what she should say. ”My phone ran out of battery.”

She guessed Maxwell Peary must have tried calling her.

”It’s all your fault, insisting on buying this unique phone. I couldn’t even find a compatible charger.”

Maxwell Peary suddenly felt a headache coming on. So...

This Rabina was blaming him?

Damn it!

”Why didn’t you tell me first when you were at the Company?” What Maxwell Peary cared about wasn’t that she didn’t answer his calls, but this. Back then, she had answered the call and then left. He had watched the surveillance footage; this Rabina had left without any hesitation.

”I was too anxious, I... I just forgot.” That was how it had been at the time. The news had flustered her so much that she hadn’t even remembered to inform Maxwell Peary.

Maxwell Peary was not satisfied after hearing her explanation.

”So, Nia Mitchell, you still treat me like an outsider.”

With that said, Maxwell Peary turned and left immediately.

Nia Mitchell stared blankly at his retreating figure.

Uncle Peary was really angry?

It seemed that every time he got angry, he chose to just turn around and walk away.

Realizing this, Nia Mitchell hesitated no longer and chased after him.

”Maxwell Peary!” Nia Mitchell yelled, running after him.

But Maxwell Peary’s pace was too fast; he had already entered the elevator.

”Maxwell Peary! Stop!” Nia Mitchell shouted, but by the time she reached the elevator, the doors had already closed.

Instantly, tears streamed down Nia Mitchell’s face. She felt as if all strength had drained from her body, and she slowly sank to the ground.

”SOB... SOB... SOB...”

Even when facing the mayor’s threats, she hadn’t cried so bitterly. Maxwell Peary had come, yet he had abandoned her. He had said such things and just left. He had left without any hesitation.

”SOB... SOB... SOB...”
