Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 718: Chapter 717: Tsk tsk, Shameless

Typically, people with a guilty conscience tend to lose their composure when confronted.

And Julia Adams was precisely that type.

”You...”

Julia Adams knew she was done for this time; to her surprise, it seemed even Heaven was helping Nia Mitchell.

Biting her lip, she stood up.

”I won’t squabble with you today. But Nia Mitchell, don’t think I’ll forgive you for everything you’ve done.”

With that said, she actually hobbled away.

Limping, no less... Heh...

Lines of exasperation practically formed on Nia Mitchell’s face; she genuinely couldn’t comprehend what on earth was wrong with Julia Adams’s world.

”Thank you.”

As the crowd dispersed, Nia Mitchell’s smile returned. Looking at Tara Jameson, she felt a touch of wistful admiration.

Is this... the girl Charles Northwood likes?

Tara Jameson smiled back, a hint of resignation in her eyes as she looked at Nia Mitchell.

”No need to thank me. It was just a coincidence. I would have helped anyone else in the same situation.”

Hearing her say this, Nia Mitchell felt rather awkward. It would have been better if Tara hadn’t said anything; the moment she did, Nia’s thoughts immediately flew to Charles Northwood.

”Regardless, thank you for your righteous help.”

Listening to Nia Mitchell, Tara Jameson suddenly burst out laughing.

”I was just being a busybody. Even without me, you could have handled this just fine, couldn’t you?”

Even if Tara hadn’t appeared, Nia Mitchell still had her car’s dashcam footage.

Tara had been hesitant to intervene initially. But... She couldn’t deny her own heart. At that moment, her mind was surprisingly filled with the question: if Charles Northwood were here, what would he do? She couldn’t find an answer, and her thoughts were a complete mess.

”Are you free to grab a drink sometime?” Tara Jameson asked, having a few things she wanted to discuss with her.

Nia Mitchell was taken aback. Logically, she should have been free.

But...

She checked the time, remembering she had promised to pick up Uncle Peary.

Biting her lower lip, she ultimately declined.

”I’m so sorry, I... I really have something I need to do. How about another time? Tomorrow?” Nia Mitchell quickly added, afraid Tara Jameson might misunderstand and think she was deliberately refusing.

Hearing Nia Mitchell was busy, Tara Jameson paused for a moment, realizing then how abrupt she had been.

”It’s alright, let’s forget it for now. If fate brings us together again, we can have that drink then.”

With that, Tara Jameson slung her camera over her shoulder and left.

Watching her receding figure, Nia Mitchell frowned.

Did she... misunderstand me?

Damn it! I’m not going to dwell on this. I’ve already wasted so much time here; I’d better hurry and pick up the CEO from work.

However, just as she left University A, her phone rang. It was a call from the CEO.

”Uncle, I’ll be there shortly! Are you already off work?” Nia Mitchell said, a hint of vexation in her voice as she tried to preempt him, determined not to let the CEO control the conversation.

”No rush. Head back to the villa halfway up the hill first. I have a dinner party tonight,” Maxwell Peary said, picking up his briefcase and heading directly to the Underground Garage. When he saw his scratched Maybach, the corner of his mouth twitched.

He... Was he really going to drive *this* car to the banquet?

”A dinner party?” Nia Mitchell pouted. There must be so much delicious food there!

However, for CEOs like him, such dinner parties must always involve serious business discussions.

”Alright then, I’ll head back first. Make sure you come home early, and don’t drink, okay?” Nia Mitchell quickly added, her reminder sounding just like that of an ordinary young wife.

However, in the Underground Garage, a certain CEO froze for a moment upon hearing her words.

No drinking!? Is it because we’re trying for a baby? He cleared his throat.
