Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 714: Chapter 713: Such a Rude Woman

Owen Lewis was on the verge of spitting blood after hearing those words.

Damn! What did he just hear? This damned woman... Ah, no, no, he couldn’t raise a hand against her. First, he doesn’t hit women—though she hardly acts like one. Second, this person is obviously Nia Mitchell’s friend. If Nia Mitchell starts whispering things about this to Maxwell Peary, wouldn’t he be finished? No, no, he absolutely can’t make such a mistake. His situation is bad enough as it is; he’s practically a slave.

”I won’t talk to you, so stay away from me.”

He couldn’t afford to offend her, so it was best not to bicker here.

Fiona Sutton’s mouth twitched. Okay, assessment complete, she thought. This guy definitely has a screw loose.

”What were you doing just now?” Owen Lewis returned to the main topic, giving the bodyguards a severe look.

”We... we were just following orders.”

Well, what could they do? They were hired bodyguards, after all.

Humph! Just following orders? Owen Lewis thought. That’s no good excuse. If their eyes are blind to what should be done, to whom they should lend aid, then what use are their eyes anyway?

Owen Lewis naturally wouldn’t voice such thoughts in front of Nia Mitchell. Having heard the bodyguards’ explanation, he turned to look at Nia.

”Should I take you home first?”

Owen Lewis had only said it casually. It’s only noon, after all, he reasoned, and she’s with her friend; she wouldn’t return too early. Women, after all, love to shop.

”No need, we plan to continue shopping.”

See? He was right. Owen Lewis had anticipated this. Seeing her reply this way, he didn’t insist.

”Then I won’t accompany you anymore. I need to handle this mess first.” Owen Lewis gestured to the wreckage, and only then did Nia Mitchell realize the extent of it.

”I’ll cover the cost,” Nia Mitchell said, looking embarrassed as she called over the Manager.

”How could I allow that? I’ll take care of it,” Owen Lewis spoke, already handing his card to the Manager.

”How... how is that acceptable?” Nia Mitchell looked troubled. This was where the advantage of having long arms became clear.

”You don’t need to feel embarrassed. After all, my money is Young Master Peary’s.” Owen Lewis wasn’t bluffing; it was indeed Young Master Peary’s money.

Hearing this, Nia Mitchell could only nod.

”Then we should leave first.” Seeing that Nia Mitchell didn’t need to pay anymore, Fiona Sutton immediately dragged her out.

Nia had no choice and was quickly pulled outside.

”Fiona, did I do the right thing?” Nia Mitchell looked at Fiona Sutton with some uncertainty.

”What’s there to think about? Didn’t he tell you that this money is Young Master Peary’s? Since it’s his money, it is absolutely justified for you to spend it.”

”Others might not be entitled, but you’re Young Master Peary’s wife, aren’t you?”

”How could you not be entitled?”

”But...” Nia Mitchell scratched her head, feeling something was off.

”Don’t dwell on it. Let’s go have some fun. Since you don’t want to hike, we might as well visit some other local attractions—Capital Town is full of them,” Fiona Sutton proposed.

Nia Mitchell nodded. The two arrived at the car.

It was then that Nia Mitchell noticed Director Zhu, who had been lying on the ground just moments ago, had completely disappeared.

Outside, the world was beautiful, but the atmosphere inside the Buffet Restaurant was oppressively gloomy.

The entire Dining Hall echoed with the sound of the CEO’s voice.
