Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 585: Chapter 584: Is There No End?

How could Samuel Peary not know this himself?

Long before, when everyone had assumed they would end up together, it was Silvia Waterborne who had refused. She had once turned down Samuel Peary’s marriage proposal. That was because, at the time of his proposal, Samuel was already married to Phoebe Harris, and they had not divorced. Under such circumstances, how could Silvia possibly accept him? That was why she had grown to loathe Samuel Peary more and more... Many of these things were unknown to others.

”Impossible?” Phoebe Harris refused to believe it. After all, this man was Samuel Peary. Samuel Peary, Maxwell Peary’s father, derived significant standing from Young Master Peary’s fame, allowing him to dominate everyone else.

”Are you two done yet?” Evelyn Peary had finally had enough. It was bad enough that the two of them were incessantly bickering, but to do so about these matters, here of all places... If Samuel knew he could never be with Silvia, he should stop fantasizing about it here.

”What do you mean, ’are you done yet’?” Phoebe Harris turned and yelled at Evelyn. What did she mean by that? She was extremely upset.

”I am your elder!” Phoebe’s voice rose, as if everyone was against her.

Evelyn smirked. What did any of this have to do with her, anyway? ”You’re just an old woman. I don’t know you.” This Phoebe Harris was the person she hated most. Evelyn watched them argue non-stop, extremely annoyed.

”Brother, are you leaving? Take me with you. It’s too annoying here.” Evelyn said as she walked towards Maxwell Peary, giving a scornful look to the two people who were arguing incessantly. It would be best if they argued themselves to some conclusion. A big one, at that. Evelyn shook her head after speaking and prepared to leave with Maxwell Peary.

But Maxwell Peary hadn’t moved.

Uh...

He wasn’t leaving, was he?

”Brother?”

Why did Evelyn feel that Maxwell Peary didn’t want to take her with him at all?

”Samuel Peary.”

Maxwell Peary stood there. This was the first time he had spoken to Samuel Peary like that. The unfamiliar, formal use of the full name made the atmosphere in the room even more frigid.

Samuel Peary froze for a moment, his brows knitting together tightly as he turned to look at Maxwell Peary.

”You’d better not provoke people you shouldn’t, or you’ll pay the price.”

The words were ice-cold and merciless, carrying an explosive fury.

”What do you mean by that?” Samuel Peary grew angry too. Although he was annoyed by what Phoebe Harris had said earlier, she had a point. After all, Silvia Waterborne had always been the one to guide him and his sister.

”My point is crystal clear, and I believe you understand it better than anyone else.” He sneered. Having said his piece, he took Nia Mitchell’s hand and walked out.

Nia Mitchell followed his steps in a daze, feeling lost in a fog, unsure what unspoken conflict was playing out between them.

”Uncle, what’s wrong?”

It was as if, in a fleeting moment like a flash of lightning, a fire had ignited. She hadn’t even had time to see it before the flame was extinguished. No, it was more accurate to say that Maxwell Peary had concealed it. Even walking behind Maxwell Peary, she could feel his anger.

”Let’s go home.”

He patted Nia’s head and opened the front passenger door for her.

After closing the door, he turned around and was startled to see Evelyn Peary standing less than a meter away.

”You!” Maxwell ground his teeth.

”Brother, take me home.”

”Get lost!”
