Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 551: Chapter 550: She’s Interested in Charles Northwood?

Was Charles Northwood upset? If you asked him, he likely wouldn’t know how to describe his current feelings either. A bit bitter, a bit at a loss, but not to the point of being devastated. He didn’t understand this emotion, so he could only ignore it.

”Alright, I don’t know what exactly happened between you two, but Charles Northwood, I hope you can be very happy,” Nia Mitchell sincerely expressed her wishes. Perhaps because her own life was going so well now, she hoped her friends could also experience this kind of happiness.

Charles Northwood nodded and, with a smile, gently patted Nia Mitchell’s head. ”You should be happy too. As long as he... treats you well.” He had no other wishes, just for them both to be doing well.

”He treats me very well,” Nia Mitchell quickly responded, smiling as she looked at him. ”He... is the kindest person to me in this world. Although he’s sometimes grumpy, it’s always for my sake. You have no idea, he’s actually such a busybody, always meddling in things! And another thing, don’t let his usually stern and quiet demeanor fool you; he can be quite chatty...” As Nia Mitchell spoke about Maxwell Peary, her spirits immediately lifted; she could talk about him tirelessly.

Seeing her so radiant, Charles Northwood’s smile became even more gentle. Nia looks so beautiful like this.

Perhaps his gaze was too intense. Not only did Nia Mitchell feel it was a bit strange, but even Julia Adams, who had been sneakily observing them, noticed something was amiss.

”Professor Northwood?” Julia Adams found herself saying, a wave of disbelief washing over her. Oh my god, could Professor Northwood actually like Nia? No, no, no! Why should Nia be the one Professor Northwood likes? This idea was too much to accept; she couldn’t process it at all.

”What’s wrong?” Charles Northwood turned his head to look at Julia Adams. His expression remained the same, but his eyes lacked their previous warmth.

”Nothing, I just think...” Julia Adams trailed off, though she was really thinking, It’s just that the way he’s looking at Nia is really strange. Has he been bewitched or something?

”Professor Northwood, what type of girl do you like? Do I stand a chance?” Julia Adams suddenly leaned over and asked, catching Charles Northwood off guard. However, he showed no signs of impropriety, merely looking at her.

”I don’t really know what type I like; it mainly depends on the feeling, I guess. As for you... I would never date one of my own students.” His refusal was perfectly polite, yet it left her feeling deeply unwilling to accept it.

”Oh come on, Professor Northwood, what’s wrong with students?” Julia Adams blurted out. This is a university, not high school. Why should that even be an issue?

”I’m sorry, but that is a matter of principle.” Charles Northwood smiled politely, then picked up his wine glass and sat there, sipping his wine. Despite his still gentle demeanor, it felt like he was emitting a clear ’Do Not Disturb’ signal. Everyone was stunned and could only remain seated awkwardly.

”Nia, I heard that you and Professor Northwood have always been classmates. You must know him quite well, so why don’t you tell us, what kind of girl does Professor Northwood like?” one of the other students asked.

This question stumped Nia Mitchell; she had to admit it. What kind of girl did Charles Northwood like? She really had no clue. And who could blame her? Charles Northwood had never dated any girl. Except for... Tara Jameson.

”Didn’t he already say it just now? It mainly depends on the feeling. As for what type he likes, he himself should know best,” Nia Mitchell replied with a smile.
