Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 363: Chapter 362: Got Scared and Ran Away Hugging Legs

The name Ethan Martinez was already a guarantee of high television ratings.

However, he hadn’t had many film and television works recently. Rumors on the internet suggested that he was currently filming a very popular online novel, but there had been no official confirmation.

Hazel Quartz mentioned Ethan Martinez specifically because even at Star Media, one couldn’t get to see him without significant clout.

Now, Hazel Quartz mentioning she had met Ethan Martinez was her subtle way of highlighting her current standing.

”I previously suggested to Director Edbert that I start as an assistant to Ethan Martinez’s agent. Director Edbert agreed, but I have to wait until next year.”

Just as she finished speaking, the elevator stopped and a group of strangers entered, prompting Hazel Quartz to end the conversation.

Upon leaving Star Media, they found the streets awash with neon lights. A gentle breeze stirred, and Hazel Quartz smoothed her wind-tousled hair.

”Let’s have dinner together. After all, I joined Star Media thanks to your help, and it’s because of you that I’ve achieved my current position.”

Nia Mitchell smiled and turned to look at her.

”Everything you have now is the result of your own hard work; it has nothing to do with me. You’ve worked all day and must be exhausted. Let’s skip dinner for tonight; I have other things to attend to anyway.”

With that, Nia Mitchell turned to leave, but Hazel Quartz suddenly grabbed her arm.

”Are you resentful of me for taking your job?”

Hazel Quartz’s eyes widened, her earlier smile vanishing, replaced by a different expression.

”Nia Mitchell, I admit I took your job. But it was one you didn’t want. When I was promoted, you were already prepared to resign, weren’t you?”

Nia Mitchell frowned. Why did Hazel bring this up so suddenly?

”Your current job is due to your own hard work. I never said you took someone’s job.”

Hazel Quartz shook her head, clearly unconvinced.

Although Nia Mitchell hadn’t graduated yet, everyone knew how highly Edbert valued her at Star Media. Back then, rumors abounded that once Nia Mitchell graduated, she might immediately become Head Secretary.

However, no one expected Nia Mitchell to suddenly resign.

Only Edbert knew why Nia Mitchell had resigned; Nia herself hadn’t told anyone else.

”You’re not that magnanimous. Look at how respectable I am now! All of this was within your grasp. You must be...”

Before Hazel Quartz could finish, her words were cut short by a furious shout.

”Nia Mitchell!!!”

Five meters away stood Maxwell Peary, clad in a black suit, looking as if he might merge with the darkness of the night.

His sharp, sword-like brows radiated an intimidating aura, heavy with anger, making anyone want to instinctively recoil.

The fury in his voice was palpable, to say nothing of his eyes, which blazed with intense, fierce anger.

Nia Mitchell instinctively swallowed. I need to run!

Of course, she did just that.

”Nia Mitchell, how dare you!”

Seeing Rabina Mitchell, the one he’d finally cornered, actually dare to bolt, Maxwell’s anger instantly surged past ten thousand points, and he immediately gave chase.

She had only managed to flee for about twenty seconds before he caught up.

”Ah, what are you doing?!” Nia Mitchell shrieked, her composure shattering. Her arm was gripped tightly, and she immediately began to struggle relentlessly.

Maxwell Peary stood there, veins throbbing on his temples, his cold glare fixed on her. He remained utterly silent.
