Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 265: Chapter 264 Uncle Peary Arrived

General Robert Perez pushed his false accusations to the limit. He began to act shamelessly, disregarding his status, and even exposed the secret that the Perez family had gone bankrupt.

He was so desperate, he was willing to risk everything just to drag Nia Mitchell down with him.

Nia found it strange that Robert Perez was wandering so dejectedly on Main Street, but she never imagined the Perez family had actually gone bankrupt.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, she clenched her fists.

”You’re saying the Perez family went bankrupt because of me? Ha! If I had that kind of power, would I have coveted your daughter’s mere diamond ring and stooped to being a thief?”

Robert Perez’s words were undoubtedly self-contradictory.

How could the person who managed to bring down the Perez family be powerless and without influence? And why would such a person covet someone else’s ring and resort to theft?

Anyone with a bit of sense could see that if this didn’t add up, then Robert Perez must be lying.

At this point, Robert Perez couldn’t care less about reason. He was convinced his daughter was in Nia Mitchell’s hands. Fury surged within him, and without another word, he reached out and swung at Nia Mitchell.

AH!

Nia was startled. She had initially thought that with so many people watching, Robert Perez wouldn’t dare do anything too outrageous.

She never expected him to actually dare to strike.

Seeing him swing his hand toward her, it all happened in an instant. She knew she couldn’t dodge and instinctively raised her hands to shield her face.

The surrounding noise abruptly vanished, replaced by silence. The anticipated pain, however, never came.

Nia relaxed her furrowed brow, gently opened her eyes, and slowly lowered her hands.

Maxwell Peary stood there, his face dark and emotionless as usual, his hand still tightly gripping Robert Perez’s wrist.

Though his expression remained unchanged, he radiated a chilling aura that sent shivers down one’s spine and made one’s blood run cold.

Maxwell Peary pulled Nia Mitchell into his embrace and glared at Robert Perez.

”Robert Perez, who gave you the audacity to lay a hand on my woman?”

Maxwell Peary forcefully flung the arm holding Robert Perez’s wrist. The momentum sent Robert Perez staggering back several steps before he finally collapsed to the ground.

There’s hardly anything more pathetic in the world than falling flat on one’s face.

Robert Perez felt a sharp pain in his face. As he struggled to get up, he noticed blood on the ground.

However, an intense wave of fear numbed him to the pain. His entire body trembled as he slowly lifted his head, cautiously sizing up Maxwell Peary.

”Y-Young Master... Young Master Peary...”

Even on his deathbed, he wouldn’t have believed Young Master Peary would actually appear here. When had Nia Mitchell managed to alert him?

”Are you alright?”

Although Maxwell Peary was seething with a rage so intense he wished he could eliminate the menace that was Robert Perez on the spot, his rationality remained intact.

Compared to punishing Robert Perez, he was more concerned about Nia Mitchell.

Nia Mitchell shook her head.

”I’m fine. It’s just that my phone was knocked out of my hand, and I don’t know where it went.”

The onlookers gasped collectively when they saw Robert Perez trembling so wretchedly, especially after recalling how he had addressed Young Master Peary.

Young Master Peary?

Could he be the Young Master Peary from the news reports that were all over the place this morning?

HISS—

In Capital Town, a city where at least one in every hundred people had connections to the powerful and influential, everyone possessed an innate sense for gauging danger.

Consequently, the onlookers dispersed in an instant. In less than ten seconds, the surroundings were completely empty, leaving only Nia Mitchell, Maxwell Peary, and Robert Perez on the wide street.
