Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 258: Chapter 257: Can’t You Forget Hendry Hampton?

Fiona Sutton nodded. Young Master Peary truly lived up to his reputation; the descriptions of his appearance by the outside world were not exaggerated at all. Ahhh, he’s so handsome!

”This Phoebe Walker is really annoying. But she has money, power, and faction, so she’s a good match for Young Master Peary.” Isn’t that what upper-class people value, after all?

Nia Mitchell choked, not knowing what else to say. The CEO even wants to invite my friend for dinner. Alas, looking at Fiona Sutton like this, how could I dare tell her the truth?

”Perhaps Maxwell Peary doesn’t even care about marrying someone who matches his wealth and status. He lacks nothing and doesn’t need to rely on another’s faction to consolidate his own.”

Fiona Sutton looked at Nia Mitchell in surprise. Where did she get an idea like that?

”Nia Mitchell, haven’t you still gotten over Hendry Hampton?”

Because Hendry Hampton’s family was powerful and influential, Nia Mitchell probably once felt that people like them wouldn’t care about marrying someone of equal social standing. She likely thought they wouldn’t need to use the woman’s family’s faction for a powerful alliance. But what happened in the end? Didn’t Hendry Hampton still choose Beatrice Swan?

”No, I haven’t.”

Nia Mitchell immediately denied it. If she still harbored any feelings for Hendry Hampton now, she would indeed be very foolish.

”I was just lamenting a bit; you don’t need to take it seriously. I have completely forgotten Hendry Hampton.”

She was even starting to question whether she had ever truly loved Hendry Hampton.

”Nia Mitchell, I really hope you’ve completely forgotten that scumbag. He’s not worthy of you.”

Fiona Sutton hesitated, wanting to tell her some secrets, but... those words weren’t hers to say.

”I really don’t care anymore. I just feel like I was blind back then.”

She laughed and continued selecting snacks, carefully examining their flavors.

”That’s good. Pay more attention to the people around you. Maybe... maybe you’ll realize that you’ve overlooked many things.”

That was as much as she could hint. Whether Nia Mitchell would realize it or not was up to her.

”Did you call Charles Northwood?”

Fiona Sutton, with her head lowered, suddenly changed the subject and also grabbed a bag of potato chips.

”No, I called him before my engagement. He said he would be quite busy, so he asked me not to call him unless it was something important. He said he would call me when he was free.”

Nia Mitchell smiled, explaining to Fiona Sutton why she hadn’t called him.

Fiona Sutton bit her lip. Usually so straightforward, she really didn’t know how to bring this up with Nia Mitchell.

”So, you never called him again?”

”Yes.”

Nia Mitchell nodded. Charles Northwood had already told her not to disturb him; how could she be shameless enough to go looking for him?

”Nia Mitchell, oh, Nia Mitchell, I really don’t know what to do with either of you.”

Fiona Sutton sighed. Looking at the shelves packed with snacks, she suddenly lost all interest.

”You should call him sometime. Tell him about what happened to you before. Maybe, in just a few hours, he’ll appear right before you.”

Fiona Sutton turned her head, looking seriously into Nia Mitchell’s eyes, hoping she would understand her hint.

Seeing the suddenly serious Fiona Sutton, Nia Mitchell couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”How is that possible? He went to the USA on business and is incredibly busy. Plus, he’s not Superman; he can’t just suddenly appear before me.”

Nia Mitchell joked, finding Fiona Sutton’s teasing unbearable.

Fiona Sutton gave a bitter smile. Nia Mitchell truly hadn’t realized anything, had she? Suddenly, she felt Charles Northwood was rather pitiful. How had he gotten himself entangled like this?
