Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 247: Chapter 246: Maxwell Peary Has Two Moms (Extra Chapter)

Nia Mitchell furrowed her brows, already displeased at the thought of Charles Northwood having gone to the USA.

”He said he had work and had to go to the USA, so he celebrated our engagement in advance.”

Although she had complained back then, she was particularly upset about his timing.

Then, before the engagement, Fiona Sutton had said Hendry Hampton wasn’t suitable for her and had bad-mouthed him quite a bit. The two of them had a big fight, and Fiona had also flown to the USA.

Otherwise, on the day of the engagement, she wouldn’t have been so isolated and helpless.

”So that’s how it is. In his eyes, work is more important than you, right?”

Maxwell Peary said this somewhat unnaturally. He, who was usually so composed, even found himself acting strangely today, feeling oddly guilty.

Although Charles Northwood’s departure might have been because he harbored feelings for Nia, he wasn’t sure.

He admitted to himself that by saying that to Nia, he was deliberately trying to sow discord between her and Charles Northwood.

But, unexpectedly, Nia didn’t seem to care at all.

”He’s always cared more about his work. I’ve complained about it countless times already.”

Nia pouted. There was nothing she could do about that.

Maxwell Peary awkwardly touched his nose and held her tightly in his arms.

”Let’s not talk about them anymore, Uncle. I have a bellyful of questions I want to ask you.”

Nia suddenly remembered the important matters. She had almost been sidetracked by him.

Maxwell Peary nodded. Seeing her adorably muddled look, the corners of his mouth curved up slightly.

”Alright, ask. Today, your Uncle will answer any question you have.”

Nia finally smiled, then struggled out of Maxwell Peary’s embrace and sat to one side.

”A couple of days ago, when I was shopping with Evelyn, I ran into Belinda Swan and another woman. She said she is your mother.”

Nia began speaking carefully, her eyes wide as she observed Maxwell Peary’s expression.

But Maxwell Peary was already a master of concealing his feelings. His innermost emotions weren’t something she could discern just by widening her eyes.

”You’re talking about Phoebe Harris.”

Since Nia had already gotten off his lap, he shifted his posture, crossing his legs.

”She’s merely Mrs. Peary. At best, my foster mother, I suppose.”

He had thought about it for a long while, feeling that only the term ’foster mother’ could summarize their relationship.

Next, Nia heard a melodramatic story.

When Silvia Waterborne was eighteen or nineteen, she debuted in a TV drama and became famous overnight, instantly becoming a goddess adored by countless fans.

At the brightest, busiest, and most critical time of her career, she met Maxwell Peary’s father, Samuel Peary.

The two had an electrifying connection, quickly fell in love, and began a secret affair.

It was during that time that Silvia Waterborne became pregnant with Maxwell Peary. At a crucial stage in her burgeoning career, she went abroad alone to give birth to Maxwell.

However, within that same year, Samuel Peary, under his family’s arrangement, married Phoebe Harris, who was considered a suitable match for the Peary Clan in terms of social standing.

Silvia Waterborne, still foolishly believing Samuel Peary, ended up becoming his mistress. Several years later, she gave birth to Evelyn Peary.

While pregnant with Evelyn Peary, Silvia Waterborne finally awoke from her delusion. She recognized Samuel Peary’s true colors and, after giving birth to Evelyn, sent both children to an orphanage and completely cut ties with him.

”Do you know what the last thing Mom said to me was?”

Maxwell Peary paused halfway through his story and suddenly posed a question.

”What was it?”
