Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 215: Chapter 214: Young Master Peary Got Scorned (Added Update)

Night fell swiftly, and Nia Mitchell hurriedly got into a taxi back to Royal Bay Villa.

Surprisingly, Maxwell Peary was at home, not in his usual white shirt, but already impeccably dressed in a suit.

”Uncle, are you going out?”

Nia Mitchell changed into her evening gown and put on light makeup.

Maxwell Peary looked at her, his throat tightening as he strode over to her.

”Who told you to wear makeup?”

Nia was taken aback. What kind of question was this? She was going to a banquet, already so formally dressed in an evening gown; surely she couldn’t go without makeup?

”Is there a problem?” Were her makeup skills so poor that she was unpresentable?

”From now on, no makeup.”

He’d never known that Nia, who looked so simple and unadorned without makeup, could be this stunning with it on. It was one thing for him to appreciate this stunning side of her alone; he wasn’t generous enough to let other men see her this way.

”Okay, okay, I get it. I’m going to be late.”

Nia was in a hurry to leave. Maxwell Peary had already arranged for a driver, who was waiting outside.

Maxwell Peary adjusted her shawl. ”At the banquet, remember, no drinking alcohol.”

He was somewhat reluctant to let her attend such dazzling, hedonistic banquets, but she had already given her word.

”Okay, okay, Uncle, are you done yet?”

Even with her usually good temper, she was starting to get irritated by now.

Maxwell Peary was momentarily speechless. Seeing her impatient expression, he felt particularly irked.

Who would believe that the illustrious Young Master Peary was actually being treated with such disdain? Since when was he being fussy?

”Fine, be careful.”

Nia finally got into the car under Maxwell Peary’s stream of admonishments. As the car drove out of Royal Bay Villa, she breathed a sigh of relief.

”Was the CEO always like this before?” she couldn’t help but ask the driver.

The driver, keeping his eyes fixed on the road, hesitated for a moment before answering, ”No.”

The Young Master Peary of old? He was a legendary figure throughout Capital Town, whose mere name struck terror in people’s hearts. He always wore a cold expression that betrayed no emotion. A man of few words, he seldom interacted with others. No one on the Path had ever seen him smile. And with his domineering, cold demeanor, though many women admired him, none dared to approach. In those days, Young Master Peary’s every whim could determine the fate of countless lives. But now? He had already witnessed this young madam provoke Young Master Peary into a frustrated fit on several occasions. It seemed the age-old saying, ’every creature meets its match,’ truly held.

Nia pouted. She also felt he hadn’t been like this before. She still remembered the first time she saw him at the Police Bureau; that man had been a veritable block of ice—not only sparing with his words but also maintaining a complete poker face. But now... Aside from putting on a stern face to scare her, what else was that man capable of? Such a fussbudget CEO! One of these days, she was going to record a video of him like this and expose his behavior online.

Maxwell Peary, back in Royal Bay Villa, suddenly sneezed.

Is someone badmouthing me?

Maxwell Peary rubbed his nose, puzzled, then grabbed his car keys and got into his own car.

Letting Nia, dolled up so beautifully, out of the ’rabbit hutch’—how could he possibly rest easy? His wife, of course, needed to be watched at all times. What if someone with a discerning eye, much like himself, recognized her unique qualities and was utterly captivated by her in that evening gown?

The more he dwelled on it, the more Maxwell Peary felt this was a distinct possibility, and he decided to set off in twenty minutes.
