Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 212: Chapter 211: Behave, Accompany Me for a Little While

The woman, prone to overthinking, had to face the next day with dark circles under her eyes.

After rushing through her breakfast, Nia Mitchell lay on the couch, completely drained.

Maxwell Peary came over with a cup of coffee, sat down, and playfully patted Rabina Mitchell’s small bottom.

”Don’t lie down right after breakfast, or you’ll feel uncomfortable.”

Nia shifted a little, making more room for Maxwell.

”Haven’t you heard this before? Don’t stand when you can sit, and don’t sit when you can lie down.”

Maxwell cast her a displeased look and took a sip of his coffee. How can she, who slept all night, have less energy than me, who pulled an all-nighter?

”Nonsense.”

Seeing her lying there so limply, he also felt a wave of drowsiness.

He put down his coffee, reached out, scooped her into his arms, and carried her off.

”Sleep with me for a while.”

”Ah! Put me down!”

Nia exclaimed, frantically kicking her small feet. Her fluffy slippers flew off in an instant.

”Stop squirming.”

Maxwell casually patted her bottom. Sure enough, she quieted down immediately and let him carry her away.

Inside the black-and-white themed Bedroom, Maxwell tossed her onto the large bed. He pulled her close and then closed his eyes.

Having been awake all night, the soft, fragrant warmth of her body soon lulled him into a deep sleep.

Nia blinked her large eyes, turning her head to look at the sleeping CEO.

His eyelashes are so long, his nose is so well-defined, and his lips... Mmm, they felt so nice.

...

Maxwell slept exceptionally soundly. When he woke up, he was alone on the large grey bed.

He sat up, rubbing his temples. When did I become so unvigilant? I used to wake up at the slightest sound, but today I didn’t even notice when little Rabina Mitchell got out of bed.

”Nia Mitchell!”

Maxwell called out. The butler heard him and hurried over.

”Young Master, the Young Mistress has gone out.”

A vein throbbed on Maxwell’s forehead. Gone out? I pulled an all-nighter to finish my work just so I could spend today with her, and she sneaked out while I was asleep?

”Did she say who she was with?”

He continued to rub his temples as he got off the bed.

”I heard it was with her friend, Fiona Sutton.”

Maxwell nodded. Just as I thought. Her best friend is back, so she ditched me.

”Go prepare lunch.”

He’d only had a little coffee that morning and hadn’t eaten much the previous night either. His stomach was completely empty now.

Once I’ve eaten, I’ll go find that certain someone and settle the score.

This time, Maxwell had misunderstood Nia. Fiona had indeed called her today, but it was to go to the university.

「University A.」

Nia and Fiona walked side by side down Wutong Road, holding some documents.

”Why did they move up this year’s thesis defense?” Nia lamented. I’m not ready yet, okay?!

”Who knows what possessed our School? I haven’t written a single word of my thesis yet,” Fiona sighed, looking at the documents in her hand, a major headache already forming.

”At least you’ve written a fair bit,” Fiona pouted. I’d completely forgotten about the thesis.

Nia frowned. I’ve only written a tiny bit, for heaven’s sake! It’s barely different from having written nothing at all.

”Charles Northwood said he’d help us both with our research papers. And what does he do? He just takes off to the USA and doesn’t come back!”

When Nia mentioned Charles Northwood, Fiona’s expression flickered. ”That ’Imperial Guard’ of yours? I take whatever *he* says with a grain of salt. He’ll keep every promise he makes to *you*,” Fiona said to Nia, her tone pointed, ”but it’s a different story with me. Such blatant favoritism!”

Hmph! Fiona sneered inwardly. Running off to America just because he couldn’t stand to see Nia get married. Well, now that Nia’s wedding is off entirely, I’m certainly not going to be the one to tell *him* that so easily!
